Super Mario Bros is one of fun games that i have played and a grate classic game for snes wii 3ds and more this game has brought joy to me and i wish that had grew up during the nes era
the game would be cool if it had a save point were you don't have start over but besides that this is still a game to enjoy

It's sad they rereleased this regressive garbage that teaches impressionable gamers that women are objects to be rescued and won, cementing a toxic and horrible trope that legions of sub-par games have lazily copied.

To say this is not the most important gam ever created would be foolish. Not only is it fun, but it single handedly revitalized the video game industry after the crash of 1983.

I Wish this didn't exist... JUST KIDDING! this game is fun. it is.
The only problem is that Nintendo aparentally doesn't know how to make sequels for it
    and now, its being PRAISED!
Call of Duty does the same....everyone hates on it. But its still fun, a fact that we cannot ignore.
but then Mario gets praised like THE ONLY GAME. THE ONE AND ONLY. for **** sake, sometimes Gaming just ****s up.

It's one of the best games of all time for sure. Gaming wouldn't be what it is today without this game. However it has not aged well. Level design is still solid, but the controls are stiff and awkward. This, along with the fact that Mario doesn't stop moving for a second after you let go of the button, makes what should be simple platforming a chore.

    The game itself actually isn't
It's one of the best games of all time for sure. Gaming wouldn't be what it is today without this game. However it has not aged well. Level design is still solid, but the controls are stiff and awkward. This, along with the fact that Mario doesn't stop moving for a second after you let go of the button, makes what should be simple platforming a chore.

The game itself actually isn't really hard, but many frustrating deaths come from struggling with the dated controls. Making a tricky jump only to have Mario slip right off is frustrating. You'll be left replaying levels just trying to figure out how to not get screwed by dated design.

As you might expect the later levels are the ones you'll need the most practice on, but because there isn't a save system getting back to those levels takes a bit. Once you lose all of your lives you're have to start back at the beginning of the game. A simple mistake early on will hurt you later. However given the nature of the controls the mistakes aren't often your fault.

All of this is just due to age and if gamers back then can put up with it then so can we. However it still makes the game a pain to play. Mario's first game is still worth a look though. It's a piece of gaming history that is still playable even if it's tedious and this GBA port is a decent way to do it. Perhaps it's best played on a NES for the full nostalgic/old-school effect, but it's still the exact same game you'll get here. It hasn't aged well, but I have to respect it's legacy.

When I saw this on amazon I cried with joy, my first game, reborn, the smaller screen is a small price to pay for me to re-enter my first ever game, and after all this time prove that my skiils as a gamer are diminished because I can't complete it anymore.

This is the game that started everything. And, as always, it's incredible. It still holds up today as the most famous and important video game ever. The best in the Classic NES series, the game set the standards for all 2D platformers.

This a great game for those who are into old school gaming but don't have the appropriate console to play the original. There is nothing new about this version from the original. A great new classic! 9/10.

I am a Mario fanatic! I grew up playing the original Mario on the NES. The game is fun and it was a good starter, but wow, it hasn't aged that well. Mario Bros 3 on the other hand, there you go!

this game is a great port of the classic game that made us all love Mario and there is really nothing bad to it, however, one thing that bugs me is Mario’s hair, his hair is completely different then the original, which I don’t get cause the game boy color version got it right. anyways this is one of the best of nes classics series and I recommend you play it by emulation or on gba.

The replayability of this game is very apparent, with none of the levels feeling stale or old after a while. The levels were designed well enough to entice players to keep coming back.

Super Mario Bros left behind a legacy that no other game can set. It deserves to be remembered as such.

SMB on the GBA is pretty much one-to-one with it's nes counterpart so there's not much to say other than the screen crunch is mildly annoying. Other than that a pretty solid title.

I should clarify however, that I have beaten the game, and I mean actually beaten the main game, no shortcuts or anything, and the only reason why I kept myself going was because I felt it was only right that I beat the first game if I love the franchise so much. And look, this game isn't all bad, it was still enjoyable to play, but it is just unbelievably frustrating as all hell. Thanks for being the start to the franchise, but I would rather play almost any other main Mario game. Expand

Yeah this game hasn't aged well really and there are so many other great Mario games out there, but this game really is important to the video game community. And without Mario, we wouldn't have Banjo-Kazooie, Conker, and even Sonic. So I give it a

Es un juego precioso de jugar, y parece que no, pero se te puede complicar en cuanto a dificultad, no por dificil, si no porque las mecánicas son tan antiguas que puedes flaquear.

However as a game in general, I feel like it has a good challenge but it sucks how you have to go back to the beginning unless you know the trick for it. Most of the levels are easy but it gets hard in world 7. It's really cool how you get to skip worlds too. However besides the game being hard, it's a sham that the game uses the same levels but harder which wasn't a thing after until super mario 3d land. Another complaint is that the controls aren't as good as mario games like super mario bros 3, world, and new super mario bros DS. Expand

  1. Super Mario Bros. was, is, and always will be a gaming masterpiece. Its oft imitated, yet rarely equaled combination of gameplay responsiveness, superb level design and visual flourish, combined with that special loving touch that only Miyamoto seems able to wield, makes it one of those rare games that seems to transcend time.
