JoeT.Aug 14, 2007A highly addictive, yet extremely complex game for the GBA. This game perfectly fits the mold of 'easy to learn, hard to master'.

RobertT.Mar 24, 2003Best war game since starcraft.

GamerDec 13, 2002I agree with Electronic Gaming Monthly you do not do anything when its not your turn. other than that it is an awesome game.

May 28, 2012Very addicting game.

Apr 25, 2014WiiU owners: get it now! The game is great, simple but it works so well. Many different modes, in depth strategy. If you love the genre, you'll love this game.
-
CharJul 25, 2002A moderate war game but it lacks the intensity of other GBA war games like Zone of the Enders.

Feb 7, 2020Couldn't be any more satisfied with a video game. Hand helds are great and this game is one of the reason it was so.
-
Apr 19, 2019The art style always scared me away, but wow I love this game. Even more than the sequel, but that's probably because I sank all my time into this one and replayed it and gave it that investment. It's a fun turn based strategy, but the real downfall is the mandatory tutorial.
-
Feb 19, 2020One of the best game ever
And we should have a sequel please please please. -
Nov 22, 2020The 1st real tactics game that got me into tactic game. So great and also has awesome sys link play.
-
Nov 29, 2022Legendary game. Sadly it's just a bit worse that AW2 and DS, so there is no reason to play this game anyomore (Except for Advance Campagin, but seriousely, you should enjoy your live)
-
JamesD.Mar 18, 2003Really cool game. I have been playing strategy games since the C64 days and this is one of the most addictive I have ever seen. The graphics are a plaesent change of pace from the "over the top" realism seen in some other recent offerings. Kudos to Nintendo on a job done well once again!!

SteveS.Oct 13, 2002Single Player is, simply put, the best of any Gameboy game out there. Multiplayer on the other hand, is severely lacking, especially if you have only one cartidge. Graphics: 9. Control: 10. Replayability: 9. Overall Fun Factor - Single layer: 10, Multiplayer: 4.

AceallwaysJan 7, 2003The best on the gameboy advance and the best in any stragety game i've ever played, who would think a hand held strategy could be so in depth.

DanielW.Mar 25, 2003This game is a must buy, just turn off the speakers while you play, the audio sucks. Visually it's great, along with the gameplay. Sucks that you have to watch the computer when it's not your turn though. And finally, the make your own map future rules!

Jan 25, 2023One of the best strategy games ever made, and a timeless classic. The playtime and the amount of enjoyment you can get out of all of the featueres is insane.
-
Jul 5, 2023Military-style strategy game that's easy to pick up and play but challenging to master. Engrossing, addictive and the turn-based format lends itself perfectly to portable gaming. One of the very best strategy titles you can buy.
-
Mar 4, 2023I like this game more than Fire Emblem, although some failing in the AI and how unbalanced it is, it brings it down a little bit, also I think the game thinks it's funnier than it actually is, except with the interactions of Olaf and Grit, those were consistently hilarious.
-
Apr 30, 2023A wonderful tactic tank troops game, I really liked it, has so many types of units and the game is challenging, worth to play, the game is kinda addictive, but really knows how to handle situations.
-
Aug 23, 2023One of my favorite games of all time. I discovered my love for military strategy thanks to this wonderful game.

From trying to unlock every CO to buying all the War Room and Vs. maps to trying to earn the best rank possible, there are enough features in this game to make three games. Advance Wars is pretty much perfect in every category.
-
For a handheld, the AI of your computer-controlled opponents is surprisingly diverse and complex.
-
It's brilliant and fun turn-based strategy with more replay value than you could possibly ask for. This isn't boring turn-based strategy where you spend 15 turns setting up your troops to fight the inevitable battle, no sir.
