SimonY.Jan 15, 2007I don't care about the visuals, it is too easy, the AI are either impossibly accurate or impossibly stupid. They fire bazookas into fuel CANS IN FRONT OF THEM or at you perfectly from the other side of the map.

PhilW.Apr 19, 2006Bought it yesterday. Took it back today. Need I say more? The graphix are unbelievably poor. Half of the tiny, so called, worm consists of a single eyeball. The other half, a tiny tail. Very dissappointing.

Jun 10, 2016By all means this is not a perfect game. The graphics are subpar and the AI is very inconsistent. This game gets an 8 due to the fact that it is a blast to play and never gets old. The weapons are limited, but a blast to master. Pick this game up. It is cheap and worth your time.

Nintendo PowerThough Open Warfare marks a welcome return to 2-D for the turn-based action-strategy franchise, these annelids, are starting to show their age. [Apr 2006, p.83]

The DS game supports the touch screen for mini-map movement as well as weapon selection, but suffers from a lower resolution and a restricted display area. The PSP game looks much prettier, but requires more button presses to navigate.

Challenges are also oversimplified. Where single-player challenges in previous Worms games had cool objectives such as shotgunning targets and parachuting to grab mid-air items, Challenge Mode in Open Warfare is merely team combat.
