    It feels a little strange going from titles like AC: Odyssey and Amnesia: TDD to something like this. A short, breezy kids game without any sort of discernable difficulty or staying power for anyone outside of the youngest fans of the show. Yet, I don't have a problem with that as it's catering to the right audience and I was actually kind of impressed with what it had to offer gameplay-wise.

    It's stealth/puzzler hybrid with a fair amount of variety in its challenges that plays a bit like an old school point-and-click adventure game. Most of the time you'll be trying to figure out which spells will help you complete your objectives without getting caught actually using them, but it pretty regularly breaks things up with some entertaining one-off scenarios that prevent it from ever becoming too repetitive. The hardest thing you'll encounter is simply getting the stylus to register your inputs on moving targets.

    About the only thing I would say it maybe gets wrong would be arguably the presentation. The art style works well with the DS's limited capabilities, but none of the character models really look like their television counterparts much at all. The writing would also make for a fairly lame and unfunny episode of the show.

    Honestly though, Spellbound's biggest downfall is that it can be beaten in well under an hour by even the most unskilled of children. Still, as a bite-sized experience that will let youngsters step into the wizarding world and wield the powers of one of Disney Channel's last truly great programs, it's hard to fault it at all. Because let's be honest, if you're the type of person who is going to get legitimately upset and complain about this being easy and short, then you're too old to have been touching it in the first place.    … Expand

    This game really changed my life when I was in middle school, going through a hard time at home. My mother was an alcoholic and my father was never around, so I would escape by playing this masterpiece of a game. The graphics are amazing and the story had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. 10/10

    Wizards of Waverly Place: Spellbound is a surprisingly decent adventure game. The puzzles are clever, and though the game is meant for younger players, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's too easy for them. The minigames are quite fun, and the game captures the spirit of the show rather well. It still doesn't offer enough to rope in those who aren't fans of the show, but it provides a solid gaming experience for fans.

    As far as Disney games on the DS are concerned Wizards of Waverly Place: Spellbound ranks among the better ones out there.
