henkkaaNov 26, 2008it`s a good game. The only problems are that the gameplay a little repetative and the game is VERY short. Meaning that once you complete the game (3-5 hours)the idea of playing it again is not too attractive. I`m a spyro fan but the game still didn`t complete my expextions.

Jun 3, 2023Slick and attractive 2D platform game very much in the spirit of the old 16BIT Disney games. The platforming action is broken up with 3D "into the screen" flying levels which are pretty well done, but it never has that spark of originality that makes for a truly great game. Always decent but never essential.

Activision, if you're continuing the Spyro series for 2009, give these guys one more chance to smooth out the rough edges, because there's a lot of promise and potential in this year's game that just needs a bit more tweaking for it to work properly.

If you are a Spyro enthusiast, then Dawn of the Dragon definitely delivers all the platforming action you are used to, and you probably won't be disappointed. But if you are looking for something more than just the usual grind, you may want to leave this Dragon on the shelf.

Once you beat the game (few hours at best), there's no reason to return, other than to torture yourself further. That said, unless you're a masochist, avoid The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.
