A standby on Nintendo handhelds since Game Boy Color, River King has taken to DS touch control like a fish to water. [Feb 2008, p.90]

As far removed from the original experience as we could imagine. The visuals are astoundingly basic, there’s almost no music in the entire game, fishing is nearly automatic now compared to the challenge of previous versions, and the end result is a game that lacks the very core of what made River King so special in the first place.
  3. This is almost a case of “what could have been.” While the game itself isn’t a bad game, per se, it’s not a very good game, either. There just isn’t enough content.
