It's a good game. It has some flaws (for example the graphics, but it's okay for the Nintendo DS), but it's really enjoyable.

This game on the DS is just fun... much more arcade than previous NFS games. Within minutes I was laughing and was also impressed with some cool camera moves.

The best part of this game is undeniable the car physics simulation. It's so realistic, and innovative! Other games need to learn from this. The graphics are okay.

I feel like the DS just wasn't the best platform for racing games, at least if they weren't as unrealistic as Mario Kart. I still loved this game as a child!

While Need for Speed Nitro on Nintendo Wii absolutely screams for a sequel, the DS version is a bit more subdued overall. Despite having more modes, locales, and overall depth to the career mode, the overall experience just doesn’t come together like it should.
  2. Need for Speed: Nitro isn't the best racer on the DS. It's not even the best goofy racer on the DS, an honor that will probably always belong to the console's iteration of Mario Kart. It is, however, a lot of fun to play.
  3. Sure, there's not much variety, the music leaves something to be desired and the graphics can get a bit rough, but the gameplay itself offers a good sense of speed, plenty of character, and, more importantly, it's fun.
