Not really sure I get the hype around this one. I’m glad people enjoy it but the story really didn’t do it for me this time and the gameplay really isn’t anything the franchise hasn’t done before. However, it was the first portable experience the franchise received so I could see how many people could give it kudos for that.

Another Mario multiplayer game designed to appeal to kids, its format is like a boardgame with some simple minigames to play when you hit certain squares. The fun presentation probably means it will appeal to younger players but there's little here for older gamers looking for a single player challenge.

This was released when mario party was still good. It has decent graphics for a Ds game, the mini games are fun and the boards are unique. my only criticism is that there should have been a couple of more boards and more characters, thought the character roster is still good.

This game is similar to other Mario games such as Dance Dane Revolution: Mario Mix, Mario Tennis Aces and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! in one thing: they all have an excellent idea in mind but excecutes it poorly to the point where it's just a novelty in how different it is.

Repetitivo y monótono si lo jugabas solo. Tristemente, era mi caso. Demandaba demasiadan horas jugando contra la máquina en partidas que dependían mucho del azar para intentar desbloquear contenido que después no merecía demasiado la pena.

Mario Party DS is a really good Mario Party game, with one of the best story modes I have seen so far and an awesome experience to the DS. Mario party DS has “bad” graphics since it’s on a DS. Graphics don’t make games bad. It’s what they worked with. It’s like that one friendly uncle that visits your house every Sunday. You should buy it! at least if it’s at a discount.

Mario Party DS was a good installment for the Mario Party series. There were a lot of similar assets that came from Mario Party 8 along with their own twist with the gameplay. The minigames are fun, however there wasn’t much duel exclusive ones. Instead, they’re just 1 vs 1 versions of what normally would be a Free For All, a 2 vs 2, or a Battle Minigame there isn’t one that was exclusive to that particular minigame type. Mario Party 8 did a better job with the reusing Minigames as there were actually exclusive minigames. Expand

This Mario Party is one of my most loved games of the Nintendo Ds. It has many good minigames with the stylus and it makes fun for every group of age.

While the platform made it hard to play with other people, unlike the party games on a tv console, still a fun time with addicting mini games.

I grew up with this game as a kid, and I still enjoy it to this day! The boards are epic, the character selection is great, the story is alright and the graphics are nice. It's not a perfect game, but it's still worth playing!

Highly addictive minigames with awesome boss fights.
Playing it localy with friends is awesome and to not forget it's f*cking Mario Party in portable mode.
I got this for the multiplayer but the singleplayer was a huge bonus!

Being the only Mario Party game I'll play, the mixture of playing on the go with friends is enough to get anyone excited, but remember you'll find no shortage of anger amongst your friends as you play

It was so much fun to play with friends because it was the first one you could play on the go and the only one worth playing on the go honestly. It had all of the good assets of the other mario party games and more. It's such a charm to play honestly and even now I sometimes think about going back to play it even though I have the new 3ds versions of the new garbage mario partys. One day i hope they remake some of the old mario parties. Expand

This is a Mario Party title that delivers on every aspect. It has a lot of different modes, boards to play in, and a of course, minigames. 73 of them to be specific. Most of the minigames are fun and well done, and many of them take advantage of the DS' touch capabilitiy. But be warned, this is definitely one of those screen-ruining games. Don't get too excited with that Rail Riders minigame like I did.

As some of the minigames are score-based, it's always fun to try to break your own records (or a freind's). Another thing I really enjoyed in this Mario Party is the gallery mode. There you can view statues and emblems of characters, enemies, bosses, and many other objects from the game. The criteria for unlocking them is very varied. Unlocking new things in the gallery is something that kept me playing this game for a long time.

Mario Party DS is a really fun game. So much so, that I would even recommend it for single player only. Obviously the multiplayer adds a lot to the experience, but I definitely had a great time playing it on my own. To me, it's simply one of the best DS titles out there, and I can't understand why it is so underrated here.

Like any Mario Party, this one's harmless fun, and it's especially worthwhile if you've got a group of friends and don't have to deal with the cheating computer. But the repetitiveness and shallow, luck-based gameplay just further drive home why the wacky, dynamic WarioWare has been crowned Nintendo's real party king.

A solid multiplayer mini-game experience with a lot of the flaws of the previous versions. It doesn't do anything truly special than create a bunch of touch screen and microphone-centric minigames (and even then we've seen variations of them in other DS titles), but it at least comes together as a better title than the last console Mario Party design.
  3. Best of all, the developers have made it so that you need only a single cartridge to get a party going with as many as four people.
