Dec 13, 2011I waited SEVEN years for this game, how can I not give it a 10? But in all honesty she is a beauty. The only sadness in my heart is from the short length of this game and that the puzzles were too easy. Make the next GS more like the gba versions because they were much much more memorable. Please don't make us wait seven years again!

Jun 23, 2020One of the best games on the DS system and definitely a golden entry of the series, I highly recommend playing.

Dec 5, 2010After 7 years, they made this game epic. I wish they would come out with more in less then 7 years now. Game as been polished, awesome story tons of added ji ins and summons and spells new characters possibility to swap new characters.

Sep 24, 2014This was the first Golden Sun game I played, and although I was a bit lost at first, I still loved it. I even went back and played the first two, then played through this one again. Definitely my favorite video game series, and I hope Camelot makes another.

Dec 27, 2010Dark Dawn maintains throughout the adventure a fantastic puzzle element, but the overlong dialogue and stupidly easy combat prevent it from being truly great.

Jun 7, 2011I did'nt play the first game of golden sun but this is game is worth a 10/10.the story is fascinating.
in a battle you dont use the control pad/d pad you only press buttons but this game is totally worth your time. :D -
Apr 27, 2013Unlike the first two games, Dark Dawn doesn't have the pseudo-3D visuals during the battles but it does retain the other familiar gameplay mechanics the series is known for as well as a couple new features (the in-game Glossary being a neat one, in my opinion).

Nov 20, 2014An incredibly polished game. For a DS game the amount of detail and diversity is incredible.
I thoroughly enjoyed it despite its lackings. (too easy, music not as good this time around, dialogue long and repetitive etc).
I was captivated and used my previous Golden Sun knowledge and experience to enjoy it even more (Djinn , summons etc) -

Feb 13, 2021I wish that GS3 DD wasn’t easier than its predecessors... I like the graphics and the music, however the plot has some flaws and the difficulty of the campaign and battles is set too low IMO, I’m one of those hardcore GS1&TLA fans who were pretty disappointed after playing this game

Sep 10, 2022One of the worst RPGs ever made. Awful characters, awful dialogue, awful plot, and a battle system so easy you can spam attack to beat nearly every enemy in the game. A disgrace compared to the legendary original 2 Golden Sun games.

Jun 4, 2023RPG in the Dragon Quest mould that includes magic that can be used to solve simple puzzles and mazes and combat-orientated sidekicks similar to Pokémon. As such it's a bit of a mishmash of styles and it's a little text-heavy, but it's very nice looking and quite good fun to play.

Jun 5, 2011It was a long wait, but Golden Sun fans can breathe easy; Camelot have still got it. More of a tranquil sunset and one of the finest swansongs the DS could ever have asked for, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn provides gamers the full package; interesting overworld and story, challenging puzzles, and fun combat, with ease of play no matter what the player's experience.

Apr 4, 2011It's like RPG comfort food. You've been here before, you know what to expect, so sit down – grab your stylus, and prepare for another journey.

Feb 25, 2011There is something for every RPG fan in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn: a superior blend of puzzle-solving and gameplay for newcomers and the same charm from the original GBA games for series veterans. The battles are fun, the puzzles are rewarding, and the overall game is addicting, all ingredients needed for a stellar RPG.
