    This game is amazing!!!! I love every moment of playing this game because of the amazing gameplay and the loveable characters! I would sayThis game is amazing!!!! I love every moment of playing this game because of the amazing gameplay and the loveable characters! I would say this game is the best game of all time!!!!! Better than ALL the Zelda games combined and any of the other stupid "bEsT GAmE 0f aLL TImEs" . An absolute cult classic and a must play for not just every person on earth, BUT THE WHOLE WORLD should play this masterpiece! I would give this game a score of 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, but the rating system only goes up to 10. This game is just as important to humans as much as water and food are.     This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Hello forgotten Dreamworks game! I never would've imagined a title like this existed. Originally, I got this game as a birthday president several years ago since I was big fan of the movie. Though being the scaredy cat I was, I immediately gave up on this game. Yeah, I gave up on a game that didn't have a life system and hundreds of checkpoints. This game is essentially a watered down handheld version of the MegaMind Ultimate Showdown game that landed on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3...not to be confused with the Mega Team Unite game on Wii. Despite being both Nintendo systems, they carry completely different versions. While Mega Team Unite is more of party game, all of the other editions are action-adventure games. And the DS version is probably the worst one. I'll get to that soon enough. The story starts off with MegaMind announcing that the city is completely crime-free thanks to his heroic acts. Then suddenly, some explosions go off in the distance, and MegaMind is alerted by Roxanne Ritchi (An awesome name for such an underused character) that the Doom Syndicate are showing there fangs and causing mayhem across the city. He also learns that they attacked his base and stole some of his most essential valuables. Metro Man's DNA, MegaMind's alien pacifier, and even his collection of plucked eyebrows...allowing them to extract his DNA. In all honestly, that's a pretty great plot! It's almost as if this was the unused script for a Mega Mind sequel! It reminds me of some of those fan fiction comics I made back in the day. There's a lot of potential here to create a pretty awesome game! But looking back, I remembered that the MegaMind movie wasn't meant to have heavy action with more of a focus on adult conversations. It had more of a focus on drama and light comedy. Well, it looks like that even the superior versions of this game have more of a focus on action, where you explore Metro City, fighting various baddies. Even though this game presents us with some pretty cool ideas...not one of them seems to be fully executed. For instance...MegaMind has a variety of weapons to unleash upon the Doom Syndicate's team of rejected Incredibles villains. You've got the Mega Blaster, the Electric Lasso, the Fusion Bouncer, the Expand-O-Matic, and the Doom Barrage. The blaster has rapid fire, the lasso can stun enemies, the bouncer has great close-range, explosive power. the Expand-O-Matic I swear makes enemies' organs explode, now I know where the E10 rating cam from. That...and MegaMind keeps shooting people in the crotch with his blaster. And the Doom Barrage which can be used to instantly target and annihilate foes. These weapons are a bit overpowered, so they all have an ammo system. Though, MegaMind physical attack can be used unlimitedly, you'd best use the weapons against swarms of enemies. You can find ammo lying around in breakable crates and in hidden areas, though if the ammo counter is already full it will just remain on the ground indefinitely, so just in case you're in a bind you can backtrack a bit and the items will still be intact. Despite the framework getting lazy whenever there's a ton of action on screen the game isn't broken. It's almost as confusing as the puzzles in Spongebob Atlantis Squarepantis , but the game isn't bad. Underwhelming, but not bad. It's an alright action game, though I wish it had more of a focus on comedy, since that was one of the more major things missing from the movie. Action wasn't really the highest standout in the movie. Your mission, you need to takedown Destruction Worker, Psycho Delic, and Hot Flash in order to collect samples of Titan's DNA in order to track him down. My excitement starts to fade away with every Lon-drawn out level. With only 3 worlds to explore the level themes get old pretty fast. The bosses are pretty mediocre, I'm glad they have voice actors, but the fights themselves are pretty basic. Especially Hot Flash's, where you just keep collecting infinite Doom Barrage ammo while the DS screen tries to stay awake. In the final level in Metro Man Museum (Which I'm pretty sure was blown up in the movie) you have a showdown with Titan who has now been enhanced with both Metro Man's and Mega Mind's DNA, though I think he's just coming up for air after a long dive. The first stage of Blue Titan's fight is just is as easy as the fight against Hot Flash...just keep mashing the Y button and even cutscenes can't save him. The final stage is a bit trickier since you need to activate some Mega Cannons while guiding his lighting blast into the power source. It's not exciting at all...just bit tedious. It's an OK game, the combat is kind of fun, and there is plenty of junk to collect. But like the movie, I just wish they could've done more. This game is mega basic. I'd say its best to play it after watching the movie to get good theme going. I would have like to play as a villain first before becoming a hero, but oh well. It's a nice follow up to the Button of Doom.… Full Review »
