MarkH.Dec 18, 2007Bought this for my young kids for christmas, but have ended up playing it quite often myself. The mini games are a nice side challenge. Highly recommended .

If you can have only one racing game on the DS, get Mario Kart DS. However, after that, you’d do well to check out Pixar’s Cars: Mater-National Championship.

The game will be far too easy for all but the youngest set of players, making it hard to recommend for anyone but really young fans of the film.

It cannot be compared (favorably) to the console versions, but it's the only iteration of Mater-National that improves upon its predecessor, and is not a bad option for race-loving tykes this holiday season.
