    The game is quite great indeed, very funny to play but tends to be repetitive sometimes (espceially when visiting the dungeons; too many digimon encounters).

    I think this game deserves a 10 because it is a great game and has OK graphics but is great online.

    Digimon World DS it´s the best Digimon Nintendo DS game. The gameplay is really good and the graphics are gorgeous yet simple. The story isn´t the best or something that you haven´t seen somewhere else but you want to grow your digimon stronger so you will keep going. "Catching" other digimons in this game is the easier of the "World" games. But the less fun, you just have to scan otherDigimon World DS it´s the best Digimon Nintendo DS game. The gameplay is really good and the graphics are gorgeous yet simple. The story isn´t the best or something that you haven´t seen somewhere else but you want to grow your digimon stronger so you will keep going. "Catching" other digimons in this game is the easier of the "World" games. But the less fun, you just have to scan other digimons and you will see the digimon over and over again so you will collect more then 100% of the data that you need. The digimon-raising in this game is also interesting but not really interactive like in Digimon World 1 or 3. Overall Digimon World DS is a good game but it isn´t something to be very excited about.… Expand

    A high quality game that is the next best thing to the original Digimon World on Playstation one. It's well worth a purchase if you happen to own a DS or 3DS.

    This game is good. But, what I hate about this game is that the battles are first-person shooter view. When you moved the character around for only a few steps. You get in battles so frequently. It's annoying.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What can I say, I love Digimon! It's had huge impact on my life and live for monster battle games. But after a painful week playing this game all the way up to the true final battle against Belphemon, any kind of enjoyment I felt playing through this game is overshadowed by the frustration. The game starts off with your automatic-talking-main character opening a portal to the Digital World after school. I appreciate the Adventure 02 reference, but its irritating that I can't obtain Veemon without wireless connection to go with the theme. At least the first few levels are promising enough. You pick out a starter Digimon, get a free Poyomon gift after the tutorial battle, and the level ends with boss fight against Ogremon. Its nice that their's more freedom with Digimon Team customization compared to the other games. You can collect new Digimon by simply encountering them enough times. You can even obtain a more powerful version of said Digimon by collecting 999% scan data. You can even create countless Digimon and place them in a farm where they can all train and grow while you're exploring dungeons. Its a great system! You can have up to 4 farms and decorate them with colorful facilities, gym equipment to raise their stats, elemental items that can help them claim various Digivolution requirements, overall its the best mechanic in the game. Its gives players a nice sense of identity and you can check on your monsters' progress with daily reports from guest star Calumon. Unfortunately, the game in general is anything but lovely. Your goal is to protect the peace within the Digital World and train hard so you can become the Tamer King. It's a pretty basic goal and I wouldn't mind it, if the story wasn't such a snore fest. I swear this is the most laid back Digital World I have ever seen. All of the past Digimon World games had at least some kind of dark or intense moment. Like Armegeddemon attacking a city. But here everything is really bright and cheerful. Even during a shocking scene, like Ellie about to be attacked by an Arukenimon, her profile picture is always smiling. In fact, nobody but the player has a unique facial expression. Everybody just looks happy. I can't take anyone seriously with a lack of character animations. And the lackluster story theme doesn't make anything better. Apparently, Alphamon is upset that his ex-friend ClavisAngemon allowed humans into the Digital World, because he believes that Digimon don't need tamers in order to get stronger. So upset, that he plans to stop him by using various humans in order to take down his organization. Which kind goes against his ideals in the process. And by using the power of...the "Bad Tamers" and a brainwashing device called...the "Evil Ring"...he takes control of the Digimon Sovereign. This game is rated E 10, but I think it's because he said "screw you" in the Hard Mountains level. As for the boss fights, I think they have unbalanced difficulty. I mean somehow ShogunGekomon is loads stronger than SkullGreymon. But at least the fight music has a nice rhythm. Lot's of the music in this game is good, but its reused a few times in a few levels. Heck, the final dungeon "Destroyed Belt", uses the same track I heard from 2 other dungeons. And every time you encounter a fight, the whole track resets and its just gets so annoying. You'll be spending a lot of time in these levels anyway, because hours of training are required in order to stand a chance against the toughest boss fights. Grinding in this game is the literal WORST! It feels like you're fighting the same Digimon all day long. Training these clowns just takes too long. It took me about a week in order to beat the game, if I'm including the post game Demon Lord challenge. And even with inspiration, you need to De-Digivolve your monsters over and over again, just because they can't reach a high level without a high aptitude. Kids don't have patience for this. The battles in this game may not be difficult, but the game mechanics are tedious as hell. The alternative is to raise your team's stats at the farm, but they can't work out once their stress meters are full, so you need to put them back in your party in order to feed them sweets to refresh them, and the cycle continues. But if you haven't done this before the Demon Lord Quest comes along, whether your working on it or not...Calumon will ask you if you want to keep doing it every single god-damn time you come back to the farm! EVERY...SINGLE...TIME! This crap isn't the least bit fun. This game feels like a list of chores rather than an adventure. You can't even enjoy a stroll though some of the past levels thanks to annoying, high encounter rate. It's an experience that looks innocent, but it just gives me frustration. If there were more dark elements or even memorable moments for that matter, I would've given its higher score. But as far as I'm aware, this is perhaps the worst Digimon games! It's nothing but, PAIN to me! PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!… Expand

    Old Digimon fans will absolutely love this game; it's a repackaging of the older Digimons, but with much more to do. However, new fans may be a bit wary approaching a game like Digimon World DS.

    The game may still be a ripoff of Pokemon, despite developer's attempts to set it apart, but it still is a fun game. If it had more internet capabilities, it could have been one of the better RPGs on the DS.

    Digimon World DS excels in being a solid monster collection and training sim. However, the downside is playing through the actual game to collect these monsters. From here it's all Digi-downhill.
