Alright, as a strategy gamer, I can appreciate a simple game as much as a complex one.
I like playing dominos, catan or risk, SURE!
With that said.. the strategy base here is sound. Lay down a piece, set a 'settler' on that road.
(No he wont build trains/magtubes, he is just a startpoint or endpoint)
keep building.
Sometimes you'll work on enclosing a castle space. (Think Rampart)
Sometimes you'll just build roads. (Doesnt count for much unless you complete a loop.
That would all be fine, but like a solitaire game.. you draw only one 'tile' at a time, and in a game of 50 or 100 turns.. you'll be utterly, boringly... disgustingly wasting a LOT of those tiles. Just building roads-to-nowhere. Fortresses you'll never complete.
After a few games you'll see that it isnt just the bad tile draws, the strategy that is too simple, too based on luck..
But you'll obviously notice .. even worse.. that this game sucks.
Yes, everything could be overlooked ... if there was some enjoyment to be had.
But this isnt poker or blackjack or monopoly.. where the roll of those dice count for plenty, but its up to you to balance risk/reward!
There is only repeating random nonsense. Not a game to be found.
I'm sure the game would be infinitely more fun as a drinking game amongst friends. But this is NOT IT.
Carry on, sirs. :)…Full Review »
