    The fleshed-out features and kiddie concept help make this game appeal to both hardcore and casual gamers; however, there is just not any pizazz or hook that really keeps the game going. This game is essentially not very innovative and it becomes boring very quickly.

    For a DS basketball game aimed at a younger audience, Backyard Basketball is pretty good. At $30 it’s a bit light on features, but parents of young basketball fanatics could choose worse.
