The game has potential, but the problem is that it's too clunky enough for most youngsters to play with. Camera and movement issues are one thing, but the somewhat unintuitive-for-kids detective gameplay is another.

Released only 6 months after its predecessor, it is obvious that THQ used the same engine/assets from Julie's adventure to make Kit's game.

The controls are so clunky it makes the game a chore to play through. Although the aspect of trying to solve mysteries in a Depression-era environment is interesting, it doesn't get represented well here, and again, I'm led to believe other mediums

Although the aspect of trying to solve mysteries in a Depression-era environment is interesting, it doesn't get represented well here, and again, I'm led to believe other mediums do this story better justice than here. It's games such as this one that contributed to THQ's demise years back.

It is worth noting, that although repetitive, I'd say the music is a bit more atmospheric in this title than in Julie's adventure.

Also worth noting is the 3D environments which are still not too much of an eyesore to look at when you get around the stiff controls/camera and framerate issues.

Kit Mystery Challenge is incredibly boring, and unless your kid has an inhuman attention span, combined with the patience of a saint and the masochism of a S&M fetishist, they just won't have fun. Go see the movie, go read the books, but don't play the game.
