CheckOutI've never really found a basketball simulation that accurately translated the game from the hardcourt to the home court. But NBA 2K1 is by far the closest to the real thing I've ever seen.
-
One of the most refined basketball games -- perhaps the best -- ever created for any platform.
-
CNET GamecenterIt is, without a doubt, the best basketball game on any console.
-
Da GameboyzEven as I struggled with NBA 2K1's difficulty I found it very rewarding especially in Street mode.
-
Daily RadarSmoother than The Glide, bigger than The Diesel and cooler than The Iceman, NBA 2K1 is as about as good as basketball gets.
-
The single player expierence still fails excite me as much as VC's NFL 2K1, but it is certainly improved.
-
Dreamcast HQOnline play, new moves, better AI, and street ball. No basketball game on any other system is going to touch NBA 2K1 this year.
-
Game FanThe cream of the crop of online sports games and a must own addition to any Dreamcast owner's library.
-
The game is not perfect, but at the end of the day it's still a very satisfying experience.
-
Fortunately, the offline game plays like butter with its deep features and assortment of customization for the hardcore basketball fan.
-
It would be churlish to criticise the game for a bit of net slowdown because, whether you're playing online or offline, this is without doubt the best basketball game ever. Nothing but nylon!
-
The game has crisper visuals, smoother textures, fluid animation, realistic and entertaining gameplay, and new modes of play such as franchise, street, and online.
-
All in all, this game has really stepped up and maybe outshines its football equivalent. It didn't have to sacrifice much on graphics to add the new features, which is nice...oh so nice.
-
The Street Mode in itself really adds a lot to the game.
-
NBA 2K1 is hype, dope, flash, stylin', radical to the max, groovy, and it's cool, daddio--real cool.
-
This is by far the best-looking basketball game currently on the market, the only negative being some jarring motion-capture transitions.
-
It is a fun basketball game, and makes a lot of advancements in the genre, but still lacks the polish to be the type of revolutionary experience NFL2K1 was for its sport.
-
Sega XDespite my numerous gripes, complaints, and hours spent crying myself to sleep over a lost online match....is NBA2k1 worth shelling over the 50 bucks? Abso-friggin-lootly.
-
If it weren't for the beautiful graphics, great sound, awesome gameplay, and enormous replay value NBA2K1 would have nothing going for it.
