I played about 20 hours into the game so I believe that is more than enough time to state my opinion of the game.

For a game that as similar art style as Legend of Legacy I felt as if I was going to get a similar experience in Alliance Alive. To my surprise, I was amazed by the face at how well the story was handled ( so far), I was surprised it even had a story so that is a plus, and

Music is on par with Legend of Legacy which is awesome. Difficulty has been fine, but it starting to get harder from what appears to be the halfway point in the game.

Combat is the same as LoL, but at least you get money every fight instead of nothing xD.

Anyways, I highly recommend this game, and if you are on the fence because of the first game (Legend of Legacy) then have no fear as this game does a lot of things right.

It is really great RPG. I like combat without levels and art/talents system. The game has a balanced level of difficulty which is rare in JRPG. I finished game in 30 hours and I never got bored. It is worth mentioning that the music and story are great. The creators did a great job.
I recommend the game to everyone!

Pleasantly surprised by this game, I was expecting to go in to what I thought I would be a very middling experience but I came out playing what, in my opinion, was probably the most addicting JRPG I've played in a few years.

It's a good RPG, the guys of Foryu took a while but after the hit or miss on Legend of Legacy they were able to make a good saga-like game.

I thought this game was great. There are a lot of unique ideas at play and I didn't find the story or characters to be too generic as others have stated. In fact, I think they do a good job showing the friendship and camradarie the protaganists share. The main reason I rate this game so high is the amount of detail that went into the world. Names are mentioned but never explained and you get this sort of grand picture of the world and the people in it. Characters respond dynamically to what you do all over the world and even react differently based on who you have in the lead. There are also a lot of secrets and things to discover, some you'll have to use your brain a little to find out how to get them. Exploring the world is thoroughly enjoyable as well. I am updating my review and lowering the score because of the way the ending works out, without ever bringing the guild system to its full potential, and lack of real end game content. The spell system is also really wack, with most sorceries and sigils being largely useless for the majority of the game, save for the heal sigils. Expand

It was very similar to Legend of Legacy. For some, that might make this game slightly worse or slightly better for them.

This a generic J-RPG with a reasonable story, which a lot of people will like for sure. The difficulty is not well balanced, sometimes it is too easy, sometimes too hard. But it's fun enough.

The game was fun for a while. At around 45 % of the game, it stuck you in a succession of events with very poor saving options, and an impossible boss in the end. So you are in for grinding, because the game has virtually no balance in terms of difficulty. And it's hard to find a proper area for grinding too. So, the story, the mechanics works pretty well. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game made a major step forward compare to the Legend Of Legacy, this is the game I thought it predecessor should gave been, the character are lovable and some are relatable. I honestly cannot make the game justice.
Although that the game is relatively easy, but still fun.
The HP mechanic is so great because you can use healing item or spells to revive one of your character, but that character will have less maximum HP. Well to to put it better Maximum HP go down each time you are KO and can be restore to max when resting at inn and other rest location. It give some sort of challenge for what is an easy game.

The Alliance Alive may not reinvent the JRPG, but it still offers a solid game experience thanks to good tactical battles and to a fun character progression.

Even if you hated Legend of Legacy (you monster!), The Alliance Alive is still worth a look. The story is interesting, the battle system is complex, fun and bizarre and the overall package is a polished adventure that will keep you playing until the very end. The 3DS may be on its way out, but hopefully this isn't one of those late-in-life games that gets overlooked for year until people realize how good it really was. Check it out.

The Alliance Alive is a good game that's held back by some unfortunate missteps. Its fantastic premise and strong narrative provide a storyline that feels surprisingly fresh compared to other JRPGs, while its combat provides some welcome depth to its turn-based gameplay. The title often feels too easy, even by JRPG standards, and several features could have been better fleshed out, but the overall product is a stark improvement over studio Cattle Call's previous effort.
