    I love this game so much. The regular fighting is fun and all, but smash run is really where the **** is at. I have spent more time in smash run than I have any other game in my life. Smash run is what really carries this game, but other than that, there isn't much

Despite the expectations one might have for it as a 3DS game, Smash for 3DS offers not just a perfectly competent portable version of the Smash Bros. experience, but also the superior single-player experience in Smash Run, a frenetic run through familiar landscapes from various characters' worlds that easily outshines anything seenA surprisingly fantastic and competent Smash Bros. game. Despite the expectations one might have for it as a 3DS game, Smash for 3DS offers not just a perfectly competent portable version of the Smash Bros. experience, but also the superior single-player experience in Smash Run, a frenetic run through familiar landscapes from various characters' worlds that easily outshines anything seen in the Wii U version. Additionally, the more stylized graphical presentation in this version of the game weaves a perfect balance between quality and performance, making the game appear quite pretty without causing excessive load times or slowdown.

    For those craving a portable, more single-player-friendly experience not competently offered by either Wii U or Ultimate, Smash for 3DS might uniquely scratch that itch. While obviously inferior in some ways to its more performance-focused successors, this game is excellent, and defied what I expected from a portable version of Super Smash Bros.    … Expand

    This game is amazing, but seriously, Smash for 3ds. Couldn’t Nintendo have thought of a better name. We get it. It’s for the 3DS.

    The successor to smash brawl (Nintendo Wii) is just as good and better. More characters to play as (including Sonic, so it definitely gets an extra point for that) (could have done without pack man though, because he sucks), more new and returning maps (and more than both its predecessors), and good ones too and a good soundtrack.     it's like the wii u one, but with different stages and modes for some reason. smash run is awesome, but the rest of it aint as good as the wii u one. this is a weird game to review

    This game is not as competitive than melee or wii u, but smash on the go is a good idea and the game is like another smash game, fun!

    A great game, basically the Wii U version, but it has some content switched. This isn't a bad thing, it's just a bit different. Also, the graphics are a super downgrade. This is a great game if you have a 3DS, but the Wii U version is better.

    A really enjoyable game, that's sadly already being forgotten about because of Ultimate. That's because the gameplay was already so good in this one. It's just been tweaked to be better in that game. People should give this game more credit.

    It's just so fun, man.

    (also bring back smash run)

    There's almost no reason to go back to it, but Super Smash Bros. for 3ds is still the same Smash Bros. we all know and love, but now it can be taken on the go, which is very interesting for the franchise.

    This game has a lot of shortcomings: practically no singleplayer content, hard to control characters because of the 3ds circle pad, etc. But at the end of the day, it's still a Smash game, and those are all a blast to play.

    That said, it’s not perfect: the online multiplayer can be very hit-or-miss in terms of connection quality, and the customisation features are pretty lacking, although these aren't considerable enough to damage the overall experience. As the wealth of modes, stages, characters and other features prove, this isn't a quick release intended to tide over players until the Wii U version comes along.     I really liked this part of the game "Super Smash Bros." Despite the fact that it came out on a portable device "Nintendo 3DS", it came out quite an interesting game. I put this part 10/10.

    Easily the best game you can play on the 3ds. Smash run I a very fun minigame that I personally play non-stop. This does so much right knowing that its on a handheld, even in 2019 it holds up to be a very great game. BTW Little Macs hyper smash attack is OP!

They'll note it pushed Nintendo's handheld to its absolute limits, essentially bringing a robust console game to a portable experience. They'll marvel at how good it looks and how well it controls. AndSometime in the not-too-distant future, game history YouTubers will make videos talking about Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. They'll observe how remarkable this game really was. They'll note it pushed Nintendo's handheld to its absolute limits, essentially bringing a robust console game to a portable experience. They'll marvel at how good it looks and how well it controls. And they'll point out that even on the smaller screens, it is still an extremely good fighting game.     This game is everything a handheld smash bros should be. It's not as powerfull as the wii u version but in my opinion it's the design is a bit better. The only thing I would've liked to see is a story mode even a tiny one would be fine.

    A great game overall with fun gameplay, a smooth 60 fps and stages that you can't find on its Wii U counterpart. Its not as good as the Wii U version but still great to play on the go.

    This game pushes 3DS graphics to its limit. The modes and characters are incredibly done, this game is the best 3DS game without a doubt.

    The new Smash overcomes its biggest challenge by actually being very playable on the portable 3DS. The online side is mediocre at best, but there is nevertheless a lot of fun to be had here. [Nov 2014]
