    is a bad port of rayman 2 for the nintendo 3ds, bad performance and bad sound

    Rayman 3D is well Rayman 2. The question that needs to be asked is if this can be called the definitive version. While Rayman 3D has a neat 3D effect and works really great with the button set not much sets it apart from it's predecessors and this doesn't mean the game is a complete traversty because Rayman 2 was a fantastic game for it's time and still is. However the aging visuals andRayman 3D is well Rayman 2. The question that needs to be asked is if this can be called the definitive version. While Rayman 3D has a neat 3D effect and works really great with the button set not much sets it apart from it's predecessors and this doesn't mean the game is a complete traversty because Rayman 2 was a fantastic game for it's time and still is. However the aging visuals and the aging gameplay mechanics kept here cannot be forgiven. Rayman 3D doesn't fix any of the problems of it's predecessors but keeps them exactly intact. The Camera angles are awful, some of the game like camera control should have been implemented on to a basically useless bottom screen within this game. Rayman 2 is a classic however this port of a classic merely adds a 3D tint.

    This game is brilliant! Its a solid platformer and is a great showcase for the 3DS 3D effects. I picked it up at launch with my 3DS and is definatly the best game to get!

    This game is amazing! Its a lot like crash bandicoot and if you didn't play this game the first time around you should get it! Even if you have played it before it is still amazing for the 3D effects!

    Not much to say beyond this is the same Rayman 2 we all know and love. Personally i believe it has aged far better than the likes of Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie, but I suppose that is merely my own opinion. Whether it is the definitive version of Rayman 2 is debatable. With graphics on par with Rayman Revolution on the PS2 minus the new features Revolution added. It is up to you whether youNot much to say beyond this is the same Rayman 2 we all know and love.     fail remake due to framerate issue...................it is not unplayable but really annoying..................This most unique things in this game is RAYMAN 3D tittle... thats all

    This game is a fun platformer and a great introduction to the 3D capabilitiesof the 3DS. I picked it up on launch day along with my 3DS and haven't completed it yet but up to now its awesome. :D

    This is a wonderful game, one of the best 3d platformers of all time. In my opinion the 3D is well done and adds a lot to the experience (it gives you a better perception of space).

    The New 3D And Portability Of This Game Is Quite Good, But There's Nothing Really New Here. Though It's Still A Good Game! Though I Think It's Best For You To Decide Whether You Should Get It Or Not.

    Rayman 2 might be almost 17 years old, and yet there's not a single 3D platformer on the 3DS that can top it. Lush, colorful visuals create one of the most unique and interesting worlds you'll ever see in a video game. Gameplay is pure platforming/action-adventure bliss at its finest. The camera is a little wonky at times and the controls take a little getting used to, but it hardly takesRayman 2 might be almost 17 years old, and yet there's not a single 3D platformer on the 3DS that can top it.     I already consider Rayman 2: the Great Escape to be not as good as Rayman 3 or Rayman Legends, I still think it was a solid game nonetheless...and then comes this bastard that gives me my cynical 3AM wakeup call. I review remakes based on how well they update the original and...this game barely does that. the only updated model is Rayman, from what I can tell. But this ain't aI already consider Rayman 2: the Great Escape to be not as good as Rayman 3 or Rayman Legends, I still think it was a solid game nonetheless...and then comes this bastard that gives me my cynical 3AM wakeup call. It often slows down to 5 frames per second, has some technical issues, and the sound is EXTREMELY compressed compared to the original. Bottom line is, if you have no other way to play Rayman 2: the Great Escape, and you somehow turned your brain off, this one is for you! everyone else, run. All in all, a crappy port made simply for the means of cashing in on the popularity of Rayman 2… Expand

    I must be honest.........
    This is quite possibly the worst video game I have ever played.
    There is nothing redeemable about it except for the U.S box art.
    Rayman 2 was mediocre already, but this game has really stabbed it in the heart.

    El mayor problema aqui es que esa versióon esta plagada de bugs. Si no fuera por eso seria de los mejores juegos de la 3DS, porque rayman 2 es de los mejores plataformas 3D que jugué en la Nintendo 64, pero no se puede admitir que un juego lanzado en 2011 tenga una calidad inferior al original de 1999.

    If you own or have played Rayman: The Great Escape, don't bother checking this one out; it's basically a port of the N64 classic. Charming characters and a neat story make this a nice way to introduce players to the Rayman series if they don't own an N64 or Dreamcast.

    Ugh. What a mess. The original game is a fun 3D platformer with a jungle-theme that is implemented well. If possible, find the original game, because the 3DS port is messy and sloppy.

    This game was nothing special. The game is just another lazy remake with little use of the 3D effects. I think the game now is only about 10 pounds which what it should have been from the start. Its hard to believe that this game was once over 30 pounds.

    Mediocre at best. The characters are plain stupid, the 3D hurts (I never actually have problems with that) and it's just Ubisoft being plain lazy. Get the brilliant Rayman Origins instead!

    remaking the same game for consoles later.

    not innovated much Rayman 3D because it is clear that Rayman 3D is a republication of Rayman 2 The Great Escape, the only inovasion I see is just the 3D effect in the game, you can play simplemnte Rayman 2 The great escape in other alternate versions as the NDS, PS2, N64 and others.

    I like this game but that's because I used to be addicted to Rayman 2: The Great Escape for the computer.
    It feels weird to suddenly play it on the console though. I don't like the 3D, not much effort into it but I'll still give it a 9/10 because it's the best game of the Rayman series. I hate the Rayman Legends, it looks so bad.

In short if you have played any version of Rayman 2 you've played this if you haven't you can pick this up cheap and even though there are better ports there is nothing wrong with the game, it's scraping the bottom of the "unoriginal" and diving into new and scary territory.     I love Rayman 2, but even my nostalgia for the game can't gloss over the fact that this is just a shoddy port of the Dreamcast version with an absolutely abysmal framerate and no improvements whatsoever. Even playing the N64 original is a better experience than this.

    Played in 2021. This is a decent little game. I had a good time clearing this out of my backlog but I wasn’t blown away. The level design is not as interesting as Mario 64 or Banjo Kazooie and a lot of the gameplay is pretty linear. It’s not necessarily a bad thing and the game does have some good puzzles and secrets hidden. The game doesn’t force you to backtrack much and is prettyPlayed in 2021. This is a decent little game. I had a good time clearing this out of my backlog but I wasn’t blown away. The level design is not as interesting as Mario 64 or Banjo Kazooie and a lot of the gameplay is pretty linear. It’s not necessarily a bad thing and the game does have some good puzzles and secrets hidden. The game doesn’t force you to backtrack much and is pretty generous about the number of secrets you need to find to progress which keeps frustration low but it doesn’t do much to reward completionists. Overall I enjoyed Earthworm Jim 3D (which came out around the same time and which I also played recently) more than this game. I found Rayman 3D was still worth my time though as it is not too long and it does not overstay its welcome!… Expand

    This was my first experience in the rayman series and since finishing it a couple years ago I've been a big rayman fan. This reboot is still a good game where I have almost 30 hours in.

    + de combat is simpel maar engaging

    +/- de paard-raket controls moet je gewoon worden maar ze zijn doenbaar

    - de elementale bazen hadden beter gekunt. er zijn 2 die echte bazen zijn, 1 is gewoon platform dat zelfmoord pleegt en de andere bestaat niet, zijn masker word gevonden maar hij komt nooit tevoorschijn

    + er zijn veel collectibles maar het voelt niet dat er teveel is. de 3ds versie heeft een glitch dat het pakken van 1 luma moeilijk maakt maar je kan het nog altijd krijgen door de hitbox detection

    + de villains voelen als een bedreiging. ze eten zelfs een lume op

    + de final boss is klimatisch

    conclusie:
    in het begin hate ik deze game omdat ik altijd vast zat (ik verstond geen Engels toen, en de level design hielp ook niet) maar een replay heeft mij deze game tof laten vinden. de game is toegankelijk op veel platformen, probeer het. het is meschien wel een beetje dated    … Expand

    A lack of true performance tweaking and additions makes this a rather hard sell on the 3DS, but it's certainly not the worst version of the game out there.

    Overall, Rayman 3D is a competent platformer but it's sinfully old. Rather than sprucing it up and developing a truly great re-release, Ubisoft was happy to repackage ancient materials and ship them as new content. If you've played the game already there is very little reason to redo it on the Nintendo 3DS. If you haven't played the original, it's likely too old to be worth your time. However, if playing tragically outdated platformers with more back story than you'll know what to do with is what you're after, Rayman 3DS is your game.

    Rayman 3D is still an enjoyable, but short platformer. Nevertheless, you don't really recognize changes to prior Rayman games and the 3DS support.
