Nov 30, 2017Huge expansion of the previous entry: tons of minor overworld additions, a new beginning, ending and new, big post-game content. New characters, new z-moves, move-tutors and new quests that bring incentive to exploration.
-
Dec 3, 2017For old players: tons of new things to do, new pokemon and activities, new areas and enough to hold me off until next gen
For returning players: New pokemon, more different story and quest than previous gens
For new players: easy to understand mechanics, tutorials, menus, type-system and what to do -

Feb 2, 2018Undoubtedly the best Pokémon game in years! Alola has one of the most iconic plots of all time!
-
Dec 28, 2017region has better trials than Moon, also more tasks to do everywhere, so I didn't had to follow a straight path. Also story of this gen was well-written with characters like Kukui, Guzma and LIllie reaching my top 10 favorite characters in the whole series.
-
Mar 1, 2018These versions are the most exciting pokemon game I play in years, with a good story too. In the Nintendo 3ds, this is without competition the best game with the ""pokemon"" name on it

Feb 12, 2018After finishing the robust main and post game stories, I keep coming back to do trades, battle tree, battle spot, hunts of shiny coloured pokemon and more. Can't recommend it enough to people who still play their 3ds/2ds

Dec 7, 2017I don't know why moon and sun aren't one product on here, but this game is amazing. I posted on the sun review saying that you can now surf, not hm surfing, I mean on a massive wave doing tricks. Hang ten folks! Not really a spoiler since I only done the first island.

Feb 2, 2018The game to pick both for the best single-play but also if you want to do official online battles, tournaments, interactive games, or trade with people around the world, as it's where the active pokemon players all are now. They also brought in a new interactive facility in the pokemon agency, something I truly missed from the days of friend safari.

Feb 1, 2018I am very pleased. I thought this would turn out worse. It has many new features, most of which please me very much. It surpasses the originals. In my original review, I gave it a worse score. However, this expanded version is all worth it.
-
Jan 31, 2018I found many pros in this game including the new side-roles you take to aid npcs, the new OST, the characters, the archipelago in which you play with the pc box pokemon and most of all: Team Skull.
-
Jan 16, 2018interesting new pokemon combined to the already full of personality alolan dex, this game worked to me as both a time-waster I can play in my free time and also a worthy quest to be at certain points of the game. A lot of the old formula was improved or changed in good ways so I hope many of the enhancements brought here and in SM may be carried to future games.

Nov 16, 2018Same as I had to say about my US scoring:
The postgame is gigantic as a additional version should be and the main game was always exciting, with places to check and the best side games of all pokemon games. I faced the league with a team of Lycanrok, Bewear, Incineroar, Golisopod and Slowbro, was a really fun journey -
Nov 15, 2018The best mainline pokemon game in my honest opinion. Excellent core gameplay meets a divine amount of optional content thats really fun.

Nov 22, 2018From the start to the finish of my league adventure, it was worthy every second. Building a great team and being the very best while capturing gods and defeating evil, the entire traditional pokemon gameplay is here in its highest quality and conceptual peak

Feb 9, 2018Having beaten the Elite 4 long ago, I still find myself going back to these games as there's lots to do and it's just enjoyable to play. In my point of view, they are the strongest games and generation.

Jan 31, 2018The Sun & Moon edition games were already awesome pokemon games in all fronts, so the Ultra editions already had a headstart in its quality, world and battles. Only thing needed was to bring enough changes from the previous ones, which they did in all fronts, and even in unexpected areas, there's even all-new pokemon.

Mar 11, 2018As the successor to SM, it has positive changes galore, most are late in the story or in the post-game, the biggest in pokemon history, but the beginning is full of differences, and there's new details and secrets to find between trials, so I never got bored. If you are thinking about getting either version. go on and Do it, they are undebatedly some of the best pokemon in over

Apr 19, 2018Strongest 3ds games, I recommend it a lot, good story, fun boss battles, an interesting post-game story, and the new forms like Necrozma's and the new UBs look great

May 29, 2018I truly liked those games, I liked every pokemon game till now, playing since gen 1, but this was truly a top, and best 3rd one. Sun and moon were cool, but ultra upped it by the thousands, giving me thousands of good memories of gen 7 already
-
Nov 20, 2018I bought both Ultra versions to play with a friend, alongside x and most of the ds games as part of a deal: From a playtime standpout (how much and for how long I can play this and how much we enjoyed) our experience with the Ultras ended up being the better of them all so this is the one I recommend.
-
Apr 10, 2018Very close to be the best pokemon games ever made. Lots of extras, fixings and improvements over the previous ones. Longer story too, and thats without even mentioning the online battles and trading.

Nov 24, 2018Great game, & with the new added features of the surfing & Photo club. As well as the totem stickers & travelling to ultra space to find Ultra beasts & Rainbow rocket. This game is an improvement over the original Pokemon moon.

-
Feb 24, 2019Its combination of a great varied region, story and pokemon to catch makes me consider those paired versions here the top games in the pokemon franshice. The competitive side of things is better than it has ever been too.
-
Apr 18, 20191 fleshy story
2 good pokemon
3 meaty content
4 big postgame
5 shinies are fun to catch this time -
-
Jan 27, 2022One of the best generations, but improved to the limit, it has a story, with larger plots and sidequests, a spectacular and an excellent competitive scene, full of many possibilities. And without a doubt the best post-game to date.
-

-
Nov 20, 2019Hardest Pokémon game to date. The only big problem is that they ruined the original Sun and Moon story... That for me it's still the best one in the series to date.
-
Jan 25, 2020Mechanically the best pokemon and sadly the best looking one. Makes a good game with pokemon moon a great one with increased difficulty and plot.
-
Dec 6, 2017
-
Mar 9, 2019he spends at least half the time in cinematicas and giving you useless tutorials, even with 7 generations with the same, just horrible

Feb 28, 2018This game is very disappointing for people that played the originals, which were also very disappointing. Despite having time to make this game better it instead is still filled with frame drops and has the same slow and tedious gameplay. If you're looking for a good Pokemon game then go play OrAs
-

Dec 3, 2017Ultra Sun ist disappointing. Way too much dialogue so you cannot even enjoy the cities and routes. Thumb gets tired from keep on pressing the B button. The menu is confusing, the gym leader system terrible, the Pokemon nothing new. Compared to Pokemon X/Y this is no improvement, except for the graphics which are the only impressive thing. It takes way too long to get into the real game.
-
Nov 17, 2017Just purchased this game last night. I have been playing it a lot. It doesn't seem very different and I'm not sure I could offer this to anyone who has played Sun or moon. I'm not seeing a ton of differences so far and it feels like a chore to get to a point where there might be differences in the gameplay.

Jun 7, 2018I wanted to give this a better review, I really did but I cannot. The game is near identical to Pokemon Moon with not enough changes to warrant buying the game if you own Moon/Sun already. If you are still going to buy one of the games, by from the Ultra series as it has a bit more in it than regular Moon/Sun. Also, hope you love hand holding because there is plenty of it in this game
-
May 31, 2020Pros:
Better graphics than previous games
Good amount of content and end-game
Good new pokemon
Only cons I can think of are that the game is SUPER hand holdy, constant dialogue, cut scenes and tutorials which are really annoying
Much prefer gyms over trials

Apr 2, 2018Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon is still fantastic, especially since the original was a major shake-up to the decades-old Pokémon formula. The update may be overly samey to someone who has already played Sun & Moon, but it does improve upon the base game in several ways. The new version is a must for newcomers to either this current generation or to Pokémon in general.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Feb 16, 2018Pokémons improved in a visual and gameplay way. Devs could let go the monster management, but otherwise the changes are definitely for the better. If you have a weak spot for Pokémons, this is your game. [Issue#282]
-
Feb 15, 2018Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are the definitive versions of Generation VII. Fans that already made the trip to the Alola region might find that it takes a while to get to the juiciest new additions to the game, but diehard Pokémon fans and those that held off on Sun and Moon will find a lot to enjoy. The games are truly robust experiences, and the new additions help flesh out a game that was already quite strong. I could detail more about the story changes and enhancements, Mantine surfing or Team Rainbow Rocket, but not much else needs to be said. This is a terrific Pokémon experience that has only gotten better.
