May 17, 2021The kick off of The Walking Dead which made me a fan instantly. A well executed series start in the zombie horror genre with a great mix of good, bad and annoying characters.

Feb 12, 2023An action-packed and brutally bloody first series, oozing with memorable and emotional moments. The Walking Dead's first season eclectically mixes spine-chilling horror and a very gripping storyline that follows the lives of many intriguing, three-dimensional characters in a post-apocalyptic world.

Nov 3, 2011It's not fun Zombie (Zombieland), it's more like 1968's Planet of the Apes in tone and kinda depressing. That's not a cut on the show, but a compliment. It says a lot about the world we live in.

Nov 6, 2011Episode 1 was amazing!!! The end of the world atmosphere was captured, watching it took me into this world... I wanted more and more! Starting from episode 2 to 6 was alittle of a disappointment, it felt like it was Soap opera with a touch of zombies to get the action going. But, overall it was a very good show. I became a fan of "The walking dead"!!

Oct 27, 2012First season was superb compared to season two. There was little too much drama going on and the story proceeded very slowly. I recommend reading the comic books which are far more better then the TV show.

Jan 25, 2015The Good: Well made and there are some compelling "morality/ethics based" storylines.
The not so good: I'm getting Zombie fatigued getting into the 5th season. -

Oct 19, 2013this first season of the walking dead was simply great, every episode has merits of being good, not only throughout the season but its end is great, I wanted to see what would be in that group of survivors with no goal to reach.

Sep 27, 2015Solid TV Show. It started greatly and ended on a satisfying, if not too exciting note. Some characters could have been fleshed out more. Some. Great use of tension and storytelling to make it gripping. Shane is becoming an intriguing character. Overall, it's a good first season but don't expect to feel excited for the finale, as much it entertains the viewers.

Dec 22, 2016The Walking Dead is well-acted, action paced, and well written. Some of the characters are unlikable but the walking dead is still a enjoyable TV show.

Feb 25, 2019I remembered just randomly watch this series in the office with my friend like everyday during our internship. It was briliant, we watched till season 7 or 8 and YES. It went downhill, but still this is the first zombie related movie that i watch.

Darabont uses the TV-series format to break convention not only by defying the predictabilities of the horror genre (boo!) but also by infusing the recipe with more storytelling elan.
-
I was encouraged that the character-driven third episode was stronger than the zombie action-heavy second, and perhaps the producers will be proven right--that the longer this saga goes on past these initial six episodes, the more it will set itself apart from the zombie canon.

The Walking Dead, like any good horror tale, still believes in the importance of monsters, perfectly balancing the struggle of basic human decency with those palsied four-in-the-morning moments when we are convinced that everyone around us is trying to eat us alive
