BRILLIANT!!!! put Filoni and Favreau in charge of the star wars franchise for everything, they clearly understand star wars better than jj rj or evil kk ever could. perfect amount of old star wars stuff mixed with new. this i what filmakers need to learn should be roughly 70/30 old to new then slowly introduce new stuff...cant wait for episode 2 ...filoni favreau love you guys

Really well done. Feels like starwars. The score is a little underwhelming but overall I can’t wait to see what happens next.

So far, the tone they have set is excellent. You can really see the influences of Rogue One all throughout. As with most stories, they have to grab your attention right away if they want you to see it through. They have mine.

Completamente fantástica, captura toda la esencia de Star Wars. Una muy digna serie a la altura de lo que se merece Star Wars.

the series that was brought to life by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni is a master-class in Star Wars storytelling and Cinematography. The stylistic choices they employ in this show are not just there to pay homage, they are used because of their efficacy and to continue the tradition.

Got up at 6am to watch the first episode with other diehard SW fans. We thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed at all the right beats. The world building aspects is what impressed us the most. Obviously there were some pretty generic first episode scenes, but we absolutely are impatiently waiting for the next episode.

Refreshing take on Star Wars. Maintaining the atmosphere of old trilogy while at the same time bravely treading into the new territory. I love the pilot and want more. Now.

It's like a spaghetti western set in the Star Wars universe. I know you're probably thinking, 'You mean it's a Firefly rip off?' Similar in concept, completely different in execution.

THIS is how to do Star Wars. Filoni and Favreau totally understood the source material and made a brilliant first episode. Those guys understood how to create a Star Wars experience better than J.J. Abrahms and Kathleen Kennedy ever could. Minor nods here and there to the original trilogy, perfect "Western"-Setting (like Lucas has done it in the good ol´ days). The story is simply (even ifTHIS is how to do Star Wars. It started out great, but then it turned into mostly mediocre filler episodes with no progression of the story line.

just to counter balance the review bombing 0's im giving this a 10 ! i do not believe its a 10 i think its more in line with a 8.0 . this show should be rewarded for its bold direction , great practical effects , very interesting twist ending and lovely art and aesthetic.

If you love star wars this is for you.

    nothing deserves a zero.

Great TV. A return to form and sanity for the Disney Company, after giving in to radical political race and sex baiting. Its a smooth running, great looking, Space Western that gives great fan service, introduces fun characters and makes sense. The Bounty Droid is a better actor than Daisy Ridley.

Hey Y'all. It's a Star Wars show. Its fun, fast paced, action packed, mysterious, and a little funny. It's capturing the glorious pulp serial magic that Star Wars was originally based on, but with the high budget treatment. Love it. Nostalgic elements for the mega fans without being cheeky or naval gazing.

This was well worth the $6.99 a month Netflix should be sweating. I love the darkness, but yet dry humor that this show brings. So far the first episode has me wanting more. The ending is definitely setting up things to come.

its fun and interesting, cant wait for the next episode. but the main issue i have with the first episode is actually the main character, he is literally a different guy after meeting the droid, his personality just turn upside down from a silent type person to a very talkactive person.

    Solid 8/10.

I feel like i need to address the review bombing that this show is getting. The vast majority of reviews are positive which is great but there are some people giving the series a 0/10 for the dumbest reasons. What is a 0/10? There is not a single show that is a 0/10. a 0/10 show would be just a hour long black screen with white noise. It's ridiculous to give The Mandalorian a 0/10 just because you hate Disney era Star Wars. It's painfully obvious that these people wouldn't be happy no matter what they got.

Just glad to see that most people aren't blindly following the Disney hate and giving credit where credit is due.

Just pure awesomeness. This is exactly what Star Wars COULD be and SHOULD be. I'm still blown away from it all. With its high production value, stellar cast, INCREDIBLE visuals, gritty plot, and action all throughout, this is easily one of...or better yet, the best thing in Disney's Star Wars reign next to Rogue One.

What a great opening of a series, like a breath of fresh air. My Third favorite Star Wars movie was Rouge One, as it was, at least for me, more true to what Star Wars is than any of the prequels were or as of that time (and since) sequels have been. This first ep had a Rouge One vibe, and I was diggin it. I gotta good feeling about this.

A good start to the season so far. I really enjoy the western feel to it along with learning a little more about Mandolorian tribes.

Works well with its 30 minute run-time and the "made-for-TV" feeling helps cement this as the continuation of Western TV shows from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

So far so good! The pacing is refreshing. The plot and character development, while not extravagant, is laying groundwork to build upon. As it should. The character design and effects are top notch. The sound effects and score is solid and effective.

This episode is slow and thoughtful when it needs to be and energetic and aggressive when it needs to be.

Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are the new faces of Star Wars. They've announced their presence with authority.

    Who needs Benioff and Weiss?

Game of Thrones wishes it could have started with this big a bang.

Star Wars is back and with a vengeance.

Where most of the films tie themselves in knots keeping up with the family travails of Skywalkers and Palpatines, The Mandalorian operates in relative solitude. ... Favreau keeps things just the right side of schmaltzy, while also creating a more textured universe than we are used to.

Its issues hew toward the fundamentals of direction, performance, and dialogue, more problems of basic filmmaking skill than miscalculated vision. Favreau started from a more specific, vivid place than in his jobs for Marvel or on Disney’s wretched Lion King remake. Unlike his nomadic antihero, however, he doesn’t take it much of anywhere.
