Summary: The Scandinavian Star was a 9 deck shipping vessel, it was built to ferry passengers, cars and trailers. On April 6, 1990, the vessel left Oslo, Norway for a 13 hr trip to Denmark. Hours later, a fire broke out on the 3rd deck; it quickly engulfed the ship and led to the deaths of 158 people on-board. With data from expert investigators,The Scandinavian Star was a 9 deck shipping vessel, it was built to ferry passengers, cars and trailers. With data from expert investigators, and with the aid of computer simulations, the cause and the chain of events leading to the tragedy is presented.
