The animation was the only good thing about 'the teela show' . There is very little he man or any other man for that matter, if you actually like he man then avoid this like the plague!

A typical restart from Netflix: first they made a cool advertisement, promised to restore the spirit of the old show, and then they just spat in the souls of all the fans. User ratings perfectly describe how the public took such a vile deed.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I could not finish even the first episode. Even though the animation is really good, it was boring. The battle in the first episode lacked energy. The voice acting did not match the characters, especially Teela and Evil-Lyn. There was too much of Mark Hamil's Joker in Skeletor. Then, when Teela started whining about not getting told the secret and the King banishing Man-At-Arms, I turned it off. The King should have divorced the Queen because the Queen knew the secret. The way these characters are written sucks. It's clear that we are supposed to love Teela because of all the praise heaped on her, but she is selfish and smug. I saw previews of what is to come in the later episodes. The show centers around Teela who is whiny and self-absorbed. Terrible, absolutely terrible. Skip this.… Expand

A continuation of the original series it is not (at least this first half season). Fans of the original will mostly agree on that. It feels more like someone read the coles notes and decided to change the characters for a more "modern audience". The 80's series was incredibly inclusive and this series decides to go in a "bold" new direction. Showrunner Kevin Smith decided that wasn't enough. He decided make it Teela and the Masters of the Universe after lying to the fanbase saying it would never go there. As a fan of the original and the 2002 reboot, I cannot endorse this. It will forever be He-Man and the MotU. Not Woke-Man or Teela. I'll give it at most a 2 just for the animation and certain voice actors. And now that I think of it, Cringer talked too much and too well so a 1. Overall, this series has not respected the original enough. Stop the constant retcon of origin stories (Prince Adam's lineage it offends more than it panders). We will see if it gets better over the season.… Expand

The animation was great much better then the Rte-Con of She-Ra. the art is definitely true to the original other then the redraw of Prince Adam. unfortunately that is ware the comparison ends. I was consciously hopeful after hearing that Kevin Smith was a fan ad willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. after watching so many show rewrites end in a political identity dumpster fire. I should have known better then to hope for anything worth watching I thought the reboot of She-Ra was bad well He-Man is worse its not the He-Man show its the Tila Show. Its not even well done to much time is spent on pushing the WOK narrative and not enough time was actually devoted to a decent story telling. I don't know what happened to hearing real writers but I am starting to think they don't exist anymore. this is just another sign that Hollywood is Dead. they couldn't pay me to watch the next season and Kevin Smith should be cut along with all the writers before they can do any further damage.… Expand

1-Masters of the Universe is about He-Man and his friends. Not in this series. The story centers on Teela, a hyper masculinized, selfish and Narcissistic character who doesn't care in the least about her father. 2-Kevin Smith lied to us again and again. He said Masters of The Universe: revelation is all about He-Man. And Teela is not the main Character. Lies. 3-Some characters are so different from their original versions that they are unrecognizable. He-Man is a naive and clumsy character. His father, King Randor, gets mad for no reason with his right hand Man-at-Arms and banishes him. Teela has lost her femininity, she behaves like a man and is selfish and Narcissistic. Hateful character

Not sure who this series was made for, but sure as hell wasn't for MOTU fans. They should've called it The Adventures of Teela. He-Man is nowhere to be found in what was once his show lol. It was a terrible shame and missed opportunity when in this version they killed He-Man not once but twice and spent the whole series belittling him. They turned Teela, who was beautiful, strong & a respected character into a whining, self centred, misandrist **** who's now gay and needing to hide what was once an attractive figure in favour of testosterone injections. I was going to get my kids into the show and buy all the toys, no chance that's happening now. Smith ruined a show and seems very proud they have done so just to simp to woke Hollywood selling the fantastical narrative of wamen reclaiming their stolen power from men. Absolutely crushed! I grew up watching He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and was super hyped when I heard Kevin Smith was behind bringing a new series back! There's nothing that I can say that hasn't been said in so many other reviews from true fans of the series. For me, this is truly the end of the '80s. There's nothing left, they've taken everything from us. And it's sad.

Forget all the drama currently surrounding the show. 1st killed off #HeMan permanently 2nd all 4 important main female characters were diminished a shadow of themselves. Teela becomes a self-absorbed narcissist angst teenager who shaves her head and becomes basically Buffy hence why Sarah Michelle geller voice acts her. The entire show was so Kevin could kill #HeMan and destroy MOTU the story also lacks any full storytelling, so if your new to he man your left out. It's was a mitigated disaster non redeemable. Sad it was great animation to bad all that work was wasted here. Teela is a goddess ifbthey wanted to cover her story that could have been it's own show so it clearly shows this was never ment to empower women.… Expand

Masters of the universe is HeMan and HeMan is Masters of the universe there’s no getting away from that. I don’t like the story either it’s not like the old Teela that we all loved and knew. This is not a work of love and of appreciation or a story of morals that you learn a lesson from like you did at the end of every episode of HeMan, it’s a story of giving in to a small minority of other peoples morals and letting down the fans. The Animation was really good

Cons: He-Man who’s supposed to be the star of the show was cast aside in favor of Teela. Teela looks like a man, no doubt her character was purposely made to look like a lesbian, even has a girlfriend sidekick. Skelator was also cast aside in favor of Evil Lyn. Female fan here. Watched He-man when I was 9, saw the cartoon movie in the theater. The advertisements for this showed He-Man, Kevin Smith said "it was all about He-Man". It's not. Why does Teela look like a man? Why is she a jerk? Why can'tFemale fan here. Watched He-man when I was 9, saw the cartoon movie in the theater. Why does a shaved head mean you are strong and independent? These are tired tropes and cliches. I'm so tired and disappointed at this garbage. Kevin Smith lied. For a year. Hate this entire thing, I wanted to cheer on a MALE hero. It's okay to be a dude and be badass. If I want to watch strong female characters I will watch 1983 Teela in He-Man, Wonder Woman, Alias, or any other show but this one that actually knows how to portray a woman being strong without having to give up her femininity. Unfortunately, the series itself was a whole different affair. Some really well choreographed (even great) action sequences and I liked Man-At-Arms, but everything else was just a terrible nightmare, characters butchered, starting with he-man himself who dies in the first episode. Teela probably had the worst fate, she became an insufferable and ungrateful brat. A disgrace.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The only revelation from this series is that Kevin Smith has sold out to the wokeism pervading Hollywood. A man who built his reputation on being a true comic book guy partnered with a social justice warrior at Netflix, took something beloved - and destroyed it. Teela who was always like a princess/girlfriend to He-Man was given a massive change. The writers got rid of He-Man and make Teela the He-Woman, complete with masculine shoulders and arms (and haircut). It’s not all changes though; Lieutenant Andros is still there. Although they did a color swap for her, topped off with her dreadlocks kept up on her head. Inclusivity is a wonderful thing but when you compromise storytelling for so called ‘diversity’ and social engineering - the effect is unmistakable. And the changes were all unnecessary because The Masters Of The Universe was already diverse and all the women extremely capable and powerful. That wasn’t enough though for this latest crop. The writers had to do some gymnastics in order to make Teela the primary figure in this series. What they did was so myopic that it just ruined the show from the outset. Our new hyper masculine Teela has been promoted to be the new sergeant at arms. But after Adam/He-Man is killed, her reaction is more like a 10-year-old girl’s. She was so upset that she did not know the truth of his duel identity that she attacked everyone and forsaked her duty. So, we can all see how immature and irresponsible Teela is at the beginning and she is to be our new hero. A massive disservice to the legacy of this character. Turns out she was completely unqualified to be the sergeant at arms but now she should be the protagonist of the show with her newfound supposed powerful transformation Smith has given her. Perhaps if they entitled the show ‘buffed up Woman-Child’, people would’ve been more prepared for the story that would unfold.
She just could not deal that Adam had kept his secret from her, no matter what the reasons. Despite that. everyone is supposed to be OK with her subsequent apparent secret that Lieutenant Andros is her lesbian lover. Never overt but hush, hush, wink, wink There are some good things about this show but it’s so corrupted that it is completely overshadowed. The myopia from the creators was just too great; witching the main character from selfless He Man to now selfish Teela is an insult to any thinking person. I’m sorry but I could not get past episode two, and I really wanted to but I had to stop watching. What a disgrace. I have more or less followed Smith’s career and this is by far the worst thing he’s ever done.… Expand
