The advertisements for this showed He-Man, Kevin Smith said "it was all about He-Man". It's not. Why does Teela look like a man? Why is she a jerk? Why can't a nice, caring, feminine person be a hero? None of these characters resemble the original cartoon in personality. Voice acting is okay but Teela's squeak doesn't match her butch exterior. Why does a shaved head mean you are strong and independent? These are tired tropes and cliches. I'm so tired and disappointed at this garbage. Kevin Smith lied. For a year. Hate this entire thing, I wanted to cheer on a MALE hero. It's okay to be a dude and be badass. If I want to watch strong female characters I will watch 1983 Teela in He-Man, Wonder Woman, Alias, or any other show but this one that actually knows how to portray a woman being strong without having to give up her femininity. Garbage garbage garbage. Expand

Accessible for new viewers, but full of Easter eggs for us oldies, this certainly captured the spirit - and sense of fun - of the original.

Special shout-outs must go to the voice cast, who were universally fabulous.

Some people have complained that the show didn’t meet their expectations, or took the franchise in a direction they didn’t like. Personally, I think for a show to survive for 30-plus years, some form of change and evolution is going to be necessary.

Looking forward to further episodes!

It honestly funny I see a few people say it only the 1st session, yeah does it take batman a whole session to get in the bat suit before we get what we wanted? (No because batman the animated series would have not had any more seasons after 1. Overall this isn't what og fans, or new viewers want see. It's forgettable, lazy and disrespectful to its source material and its own fans. Nobody will be tuning in for s2. Call it for what it is Cash grab and baited.

I've watched the original series as a kid and as almost every boy growing up in the 80ies, I loved it. Before I start, English isn't my first language, so forgive me any mistakes.
After seeing the trailer and the advertisement I was quite excited about a remake of MOTU. But MOTU REVELATIONS really disappointed me, because of several reasons. Before I'll go deeper, I’ll try to do this show some justice by also mentioning that the new animatic style is excellent. It shows most often enough reference to the original show, but still modernizes it. I also appreciate that characters actually can get seriously wounded, which didn’t happen in the original show, like Skeletor being pierced by He-Man’s sword and later on Adam by Skeletor. So this is new, showing serious injuries during a fight. Bravo for being a little bit more realistic and showing kids, that fights can cause serious injuries, without adding brutality of course, since the main target audience of this show are supposed to be children, next to old fans, which are all adults of course. But killing He-Man twice is just too much! I thought the main character was He-Man, after all he is very much in the center of the cover art and in the trailer it was advertised like this, but this clearly isn’t the case. I’m fine in general with Teela being an independent, strong woman, she was one in the original show already. BUT this series, MOTU: Revelation, makes a Tomboy-like character out of her with a side-cut hair style, which hardly references her original looks. It’s also strange to see, how she suddenly becomes the main character and He-Man just a side show. Even worse it’s quite striking how she outperforms Adam/He-Man during the hunt scene and several fights, while He-Man most often is rather passive. So is this some kind of political influenced reverse discrimination in order to compensate something? Seriously, now men, especially Adam is shown as weak, who needs constantly help from strong women, because it used to be the other way around. I’ve got a bad feeling about this show taking a political turn and trying to be woke. If that’s the case, that Revelations tries to be woke and I think I’m not the only one having a fishy feeling about this, then this series is ruined for me. And no, I’m not hating women or something like that, I have a lovely wife, a son and a daughter, which I all love equally. I also don’t think, that the old fanbase is toxic – that’s just a very cheap attempt to silence any reasonable criticism on the show. People just want to enjoy the show of their childhood and not being politically nudged. For the first 5 episodes this rather bad audience rating is well deserved! Maybe the professional reviewers and critics should ask themselves, why they give Revelations such a positive rating. Is it because of the show or because of the political nudging between the lines they might approve?

I played with Masters of the Universe almost exclusively as a kid. He-man was always the most vanilla of the characters, it was always about seeing all of the cool toys realized in the world of the show. On that note, I think they did a great job. I loved seeing so many of the peripheral characters show up and get used in fun ways. I enjoy having Teela as the lead character and look forward to seeing what they do with her in the second half. As a MOTU fan, I would give this a 10, it captures so many of my childhood imaginary adventures so well. For the general public, I'll pull it back to a 9. Its campy, silly fun - enjoy it for what it is. Expand

This show is really good as soon as you can get over the fact that every minute isn't about He-Man. There are a few odd moments that maybe don't work, but overall it's a really good show. I'm a huge fan since the 80s and I liked it. My wife and kids have never seen an episode of the original show and they both liked this show.

It is not the old show. And that's a good thing. The old cartoon belongs in the 80s. It's great but it's definitely dated. Keep watching it if that's what you want, but don't crap on this version just because it's not the old version.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just finished watching the show earlier today...

Great animation. Mostly good voice acting (wasn't a huge fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar's voiceover skills). The battles and most of the character designs were very cool, but wow...
I think they missed the mark. This was absolutely as warned... Teela and the Masters of the Universe: Girl Power.

Teela's character design was too beefy, too... she was bigger than Adam, for crying out loud. They killed off way too many key characters and for very little reason, and just to hit the message home, they killed off He-Man, twice... Just in case you missed it the first time. And if it happens that Adam/He-Man actually isn't dead, there's no chance he can become He-Man without his sword, so again... the next story arc will have him relying on Teela, who apparently has magic of her own.

It literally reminded me of Finn trying to tell Rey that he, himself, actually had force powers, but he could never tell her, because something always interrupted him. Every time someone was going to reveal to Teela that she, too, had powers, she would interrupt them by saying something like "I don't want to hear it."

So, yeah... Part 2, I'm certain, will be Teela and the Masters of the Universe: Girl Power Part 2.

The animation seems to have the potential to be spectacular but fall a bit short. The action scenes are rather stiff for some reasons but everything else is at a very respectable level. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This show have its good sides and bad sides, I'll try to do my best to list them correctly in my own point of view.(by the way I'm not an english born speaker so forgive my grammar and conjugation)

Not presenting the show as a spin-off on Teela and Evil-Lyn is indeed a terrible mistake. Having presenting the show as a spin-off may would have had lesser hype but it would not have had all the disappointment. Netflix shooted themselves in their own feet with that.

Good sides :

- Visuals :
They are good and feels like the 2002 rebbot.

- Teela and Evil-Lyn : I really love Teela and Evil-Lyn so having them as main characters enjoyed me.

- Good cast :
Voice cast is good, nothing wrong about that and it's a good thing.

- Evil Lyn :
Evil-Lyn is originally a good character and she's great in this show.

Not good or bad sides :

- Easter eggs :
Yep, there's a lot of them but here's the thing : they have zero impact on the story so... not good, not bad.

- Teela / Evil-Lyn duo : A good idea as Evil-Lyn is a well written character and the two have history between them but... they don't talk much to each other and that's a wasted opportunity.

- Decent average animation :
Not very good nor bad, the animation is decent but still under japan anime like Attack on Titan and the like. The previous shows were not better in this regards so I put that in "not good, not bad".

Bad sides :

- No menacing vilains :
Ok, in the 80's He-Man defeated Skeletor's goons easily but he had super powers and it was a show for kids. In this show He-Man is no more and it's aimed at adults so Skeletor's goons have to be menacing. Heroes sweep them effortlessly and even no name henchmen are more menacing than Trapjaw, Triklops, Merman and Whiplash. How can I feel the heroes endangered ? Is Skeletor and no name goons are the only threats ?

- Bland He-man :
Having a bland He-Man in this show impacts directly Skeletor as a vilain. How can I see him as a menacing vilain if he has been defeated over and over again for years by a tasteless He-Man ? Ok he have the Sword of Power and he became Skelegod but that'll remain in my mind : he was just the guy who has been humiliated again and again by an inconsistent hero.

- Shockingly immature, egotic and irresponsible main character :
Teela is presente as a capricious egotic brat in the first two episodes.
At the end of the first, acting as the royal army captain, in front of the Queen and King, as theu just learned the death of their only child a few secounds ago, she blame the deceased for having lied to her and make a fuss.
Seriously ?
Not a kind word for grieving parents ? Not a respectfull silence ? Not a ounce of empathy ?
It's ok to express your feelings about a deceased friend but not in front his grieving parents !!! Especially when you're on duty (she's the captain remember ?).
Try to figure that : you're in front of two grieving parents and a few secounds after they learned their son's death you blame the deceased for having lying to you ?
What kind of person can do that ?
And years after that, in the secound episode, when she learned all the planet will be destroyed without her help she answered : Nope, I'm still angry, you can all die (including myself and my friend by the way).
It took her friend to help her figure that saving everybody on the planet is the right thing to do.
How can I run for such an egotic and irresponsible character ???

- Empty characters :
Evil-Lynn and Orko asides, any characters seems empty and that's a shame because the Netflix show about She-Ra have deep characters with real motivations and whose occasional immaturity can be easily explained by the fact they are teenagers without adults around them most of the time. The silly thing is that the She-Ra show has been aimed at childrens and have deeper and more mature characters than the hero of an adult aimed show. For those who want to see good animated shows about the MOTU I'll highly recommend the 2002 reboot and the 2018 She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. They are aimed for kids but they have deeper scenarios and characters. Without having an egotic, irresponsible and immature main character and having a real menacing bunch of vilains this show would rate a 8 to me but here's the thing : the lake of real threat and poor treatment of the main character (here, Teela) is a real issue. Even the return of Skeletor in Skelegod mode isn't a menacing feeling as the vilain has been unable to handle a bland hero (here He-Man) for years. That's a shame because Evil-Lyn is jsut great and having Teela being an adult hero (you know, with empathy for other and a sense of duty even when she's angry) and adding menacing Skeletor's henchmen would have made a very good show. In that view, the show is only worth a 3 to me because the flaws (no meancing vilains and egotic, irresponsible main character) just ruins its good sides.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm just floored by all the whiners complaining about the direction of this show. I'm from the old school and watched He-Man back when I was a kid everyday after school. I remember all the characters and toys they have shown in the new show so far. It's a total nostalgia trip and I was very pleased with what they did with the first half of this season. I laughed at all the "reviews" complaining He-man and Skeletor are only in the first episode because this shows you they only watched half of the first episode and then gave up. They reviewed a show they didn't even watch and missed out on the cliff hanger ending with He-man and Skeletor!

You need to keep in mind this is a sequel. Why would you want the same boring rehashed junk of He-man fighting someone new in every episode? If that's what you want go watch any number of the multitude of Shonen anime out there. Instead the show rips right into it in the first episode with the penultimate battle between He-man and Skeletor where they seemingly destroy themselves, and essentially bring about the slow end of the universe. Queue the oddball team-up of Teela and Evil-lyn and their gang of misfits to reclaim the sword of power and fix everything by going to Eternian versions of heaven and hell. Putting the focus on Teela, you know because He-man is essentially DEAD, apparently has broken everyone's brain.

So you don't like that all the women have huge arms? Did you not notice the guys have arms that are like 4 times as huge? They are Eternians. They live on a world that is the heart of the entire universe. They're called the "MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE", not the "Average, Molded by Your Personal World Views, Failures of the Universe". Would you really expect such beings to NOT have overly impressive physiques? Even Orko is lean and ripped like Bruce Lee. Most of you are completely missing out on an interesting story simply because you can't get over your own misogynistic prejudice. I'll warn you right now... I think they are going to have Teela take up the sword of power and become the new champion. I know your little minds will be blown into oblivion but that's you're own damn fault. One last comment to negative reviewers saying this is He-Man's show; the show is called "Masters of the Universe: Revelation". Do you see He-man's name in there anywhere? Anyways, overall I was pretty pleased with this and can't wait to see the rest of it!

I am so disappointed because back when this was announced I was really excited - I had figured maybe we'd get a good adult rendition of the show with modern animation quality but still have good writing...well was partially right. The animation quality is good. But the story and what they've done with the characters is just embarrassingly bad. It's another example of Hollywood's schtick of the last few years where they write the male characters out of the show, replace them with women who look like men, and of course, had to have a couple of the obligatory deletion of white characters and replace them with those of another race as well as LGBTQ relationships injected into the show. It's just laughably bad. I'm out. Will not watch anything from Kevin Smith again and I've canceled my Netflix subscription as well. Masters of the universe is HeMan and HeMan is Masters of the universe there’s no getting away from that. I don’t like the story either it’s not like the old Teela that we all loved and knew. This is not a work of love and of appreciation or a story of morals that you learn a lesson from like you did at the end of every episode of HeMan, it’s a story of giving in to a small minority of other peoples morals and letting down the fans. The animation was great much better then the Rte-Con of She-Ra. the art is definitely true to the original other then the redraw of Prince Adam. unfortunately that is ware the comparison ends. I was consciously hopeful after hearing that Kevin Smith was a fan ad willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. after watching so many show rewrites end in a political identity dumpster fire. I should have known better then to hope for anything worth watching I thought the reboot of She-Ra was bad well He-Man is worse its not the He-Man show its the Tila Show. Its not even well done to much time is spent on pushing the WOK narrative and not enough time was actually devoted to a decent story telling. I don't know what happened to hearing real writers but I am starting to think they don't exist anymore. this is just another sign that Hollywood is Dead. they couldn't pay me to watch the next season and Kevin Smith should be cut along with all the writers before they can do any further damage. Pros:
-The animation is incredible. -Seeing the classic designs and classic characters at the beginning was great. -The first Episode was great. Action packed and I liked the basic set-up for the series...but then...

The cons: They kill off He-Man, the character that has made Mattel MILLIONS of dollars over the last 30 years in the first episode and then focus on a butched out Teela as the hero of the story. A Teela that seems so off character from the original, it might as well be a new character. Now this wouldn't be so bad if they kept Teela beautiful, feminine and sexy (Like the original), but instead they transformed her into a roided-out man...which doesn't fit with the original designs or original vision of the character from the creators of Masters of the Universe. Oh, and now she's hinted at being a lesbian, because these Hollywood men can't envision a strong, powerful woman possibly being straight. No, all powerful women must look like men and act like men... It spits in the face of women and femininity, which are things to be cherished. Also, Teela in the comics always had a thing for He-Man, and that should have been played up here.

Secondly, who wants to watch a He-Man show with no He-Man? This show should have been an EASY Home run. You do 1 season of all classic He-Man vs Skeletor adventures, laying the groundwork for a bigger story down the line, and build toward a Teela/Sorceress centric arc. Instead, you piss off and divide the fan base that was expecting a He-Man show and then the creators (Kevin Smith) blame the fans for not liking the show and voicing their concern. Do these companies not understand that when you piss off the fan base, you will bleed money? It doesnt attract new fans. It kills the fanbase that was already willing to open their wallets and support the property. And also kills it for the next generation (Their kids) that they want to bring into the fandom.

You could have also kept the He-Man, Teela, Man at Arms dynamic in the show by introducing a weaker He-Man in episode 2 who is wielding the classic Axe and Shield, who goes along on the adventure to regain the power sword, facing the things that Teela faces, and come off with a cool payoff in the long run, and building back the trust between the two friends. But shortsightedness from the writers kills any hope in that.

The first series feels almost like a "lets do something radical just to piss off those hardcore fans" type of show. I know how this goes as I work in mass media. Writers have a thing where they want extreme controversy thinking it will bring the show more eyes, but it never works out for them. It just divides the fans and pushes them to seek out other avenues to spend their money. At this point, it would go against everyone's expectations to actually get a product that is TRUE to the source material and doesn't piss off the fans who made the property a huge success.

Now, do I believe He-Man is dead for the remainder of the show? No. He will return in Part 2. But this is NOT the way to do it, especially when fans have been clamoring for a He-Man show for years. It would be like Warners building up to a huge Batman show after years of Batman not being on-screen, and then they kill off Batman in the first episode and replace him with a butched out Batgirl and some other D rate characters no one has ever cared about. And then call the fans toxic when they complain about the fact that they dont like the show and expected show after show of Badass Batman action.

Im willing to check out part 2, but Im really hoping Mattel and Netflix take these reviews seriously and course correct. You could have EASILY won over fans and built up even more good will by just sticking to the source material, and giving us a HE-MAN centic show...you know...because that's the character that has sustained this franchise for 30 years, has made you millions of dollars and the character that everyone likes.

He dragged people who simply reported on it for a year and still goes after them even thought they were 100% correct about what a bad show this would be. Considering Netflix has lost 500k subscribers and missed their target by 2 million for Q1 2001, I wonder what the shareholders think. Especially if his comments saying they don’t care what fans think. Lastly, despite good art, the show is a total mess and certainly not a love note to the originals. It is the Terminator Dark Fate, The Last Jedi, etc of the He-Man universe. Those who’ve seen it will know why those comparisons are relevant. Ridiculous. Add that he lied about it to it actually being even worse than people had exposed over a year ago and I can’t give this anything good. I’m giving a 1 because I notice there’s “positive review bombing” where perfect 10s are being given for some reason. That’s insane. Watch the 2002 show if you want more He-Man instead. Expand

It is not a truly bad show but the lies and misleading of fans will decrease the ratings a lot. Lets start with the elephant in the room: He-Man is very sparingly used in this show to say it mildly and Teela is the main character. This is normally not a problem especially if the show is good or it fits the narrative (and I would no mind if both are truly good). However there are some valid arguments against this in this case. Firstly they promised a He-Man show and nothing else and especially Kevin Smith made a lot of now proven lies about this on social media. Secondly everyone who grew up with the show knew that He-Man was the boys show and She-Ra the girls show. This means not that you cant have strong females or males in the other show as for example the Sorceress is the most powerful character in He-man and probably atop on the wisest characters list too. So they harmed the expectation twice. While I use a phrase with the word “expectations” you hear a lot that the show is a repeat of “The Last Jedi” in poorly subvert expectation and angering a lot of the fan base. Sadly a fair and valid point. Lastly they show that they have no confidence in their own show, ideas and decisions as they could have told this passionately to the (potential) viewers. To be fair for the last point it could also backfire but you would not be labeled as liars that mislabeled a product. I might sound too negative as the show is not that bad. The visuals and characters look really good and I praise them for this. The art style is top notch too and fully appealing. Just look at the official poster or trailer. It has a high value and I will praise the show for it too. Then there are the voice actors: I would never complain with such an awesome cast with for example Mark Hamill, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lena Headey, Susan Eisenberg and Chris Wood. For me this is an all star team and a true strength. Now to the next elephant in the room with the story. I think it is not that bad and everyone should remember that the old show was never about telling deep Shakespearean stories. It was good and enjoyable but not in a top tier story level. I think the ideas and twists work but cant turn the tide. To clarify: I see a lot of good ideas and moments but these cant keep up against the negatives. Overall this will be in the list of re-imagination of established characters or shows that fail to win the old fans or core audience. I will conclude with: Dear producers and directors. If you want to tell your own stories than do it. If you want to redo / revive a show then please look into what made it good back thenfor the viewers and use this well. Take an example were that worked well like “Mad Max Fury Road” or “The Mandalorian” and how to subvert expectations in an awesome way in “Avengers Infinity War” and “Avengers Endgame”. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Animation is great and the first episode was amazing. Then it completely falls apart. They made a He-Man show without He-Man! What were they thinking!?!?! This was touted as a show made for the original fans. It is not. They made Teela the main character and since writers don't know how to write strong female leads anymore they resort to the usual 'strong wahmen' formula of making her extremely unlikable as she constantly berates everyone around her and is just a general all round b*tch. Side note for the writers, I hope somehow that you are reading this, Teelas constant rage at not being told who He-Man was is unjustified as even Adam's own Father didn't know he was He-man. I couldn't care less what they do next because there's no saving this dumpster fire of a show. Kevin Smith lied through his teeth about what this show is and completely buried what little of his credibility was left. The indie darling has truly become the Hollywood shill. What a shame. Expand

1st killed off #HeMan permanently 2nd all 4 important main female characters were diminished a shadow of themselves. Teela becomes a self-absorbed narcissist angst teenager who shaves her head and becomes basically Buffy hence why Sarah Michelle geller voice acts her. The entire show was so Kevin could kill #HeMan and destroy MOTU the story also lacks any full storytelling, so if your new to he man your left out. It's was a mitigated disaster non redeemable. Sad it was great animation to bad all that work was wasted here. Teela is a goddess ifbthey wanted to cover her story that could have been it's own show so it clearly shows this was never ment to empower women.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As an 80's child He-Man was my favourite show. I was so looking forward to this following the trailer. It was a terrible shame and missed opportunity when in this version they killed He-Man not once but twice and spent the whole series belittling him. They turned Teela, who was beautiful, strong & a respected character into a whining, self centred, misandrist **** who's now gay and needing to hide what was once an attractive figure in favour of testosterone injections. I was going to get my kids into the show and buy all the toys, no chance that's happening now. Smith ruined a show and seems very proud they have done so just to simp to woke Hollywood selling the fantastical narrative of wamen reclaiming their stolen power from men. Please...Do Not watch this show!

So it's not a surprise that this show does not contain the words He-Man.
It is not about He-Man at all. It is about Teela and her "friend".

This is a minor spoiler...but tells why I rated what I did.
A Major character dies, and all Teela (our new hero) cares about is that She was lied to and She deserved better. Not that someone just died!

If you want to watch Master's of the Universe, watch the 80's early 2000's or even the movie versions. Each of them is a significantly more entertaining and true story.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The cast is good, and the animation does a neat job of blending the old style with modern details, but the bait-and-switch nature of the show is just unacceptable. You can't put He-Man front-and-center of every poster, make him the focus of all the marketing, tell everyone on Twitter that He-Man is definitely the main character of his own series, and then pull the rug out. This brand of storytelling-as-fan-trolling needs to go out of style. It's clickbait fiction and it's exhausting.

I'd be happy to watch a Teela show (especially with the wonderful SMG), but not if I'm going to be tricked into it. Maybe next time. This is a pass for me, which is too bad because I'm a Kevin Smith fan. But this time his obsession with hype got the better of him.

Metacritic deleted dozen of negative reviews, today--including my own, in order to cover for this terrible subversion of a classic IP. Not going to rewrite my in-depth review again. The technicals, such as the animation and music are great, but this show is not. They sidelined the hero of the show, killed off some favorites, and made sure to make the leads are all females and not likable. Teela is now an angry red-haired shaved-head caricature that is impossible to like. Wave bye-bye to the past and know that all the rumors were true. I heard the rumors about this show and assumed they couldn't be true, but I was very wrong. He-man has been removed from his own show. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Another woke piece of trash from Hollywood. Crap all over the main character, kill him off, and shove in the progressive replacement. They did it with Star Wars, Terminator, among many others…and now He-Man too. It fails every time, but they keep doing it anyway…and then they just call the fans whatever -istaphobe comment they can think of. Expand

Objectively great story, great writing (especially by Bernardin), great animation, great performances. For this who say there isn't enough he-man, this is only half of the story so far.

Another day, another terrible Netflix adaptation that takes a giant dump all over the original material. It's clear that no one who made this even liked Masters of the Universe. They just want to preach an agenda to their audience. Avoid.

The voice acting was better than expected tho it did sound like some people were phoning it in. The problems lie in the storytelling. A continuation of the original series it is not (at least this first half season). Fans of the original will mostly agree on that. It feels more like someone read the coles notes and decided to change the characters for a more "modern audience". The 80's series was incredibly inclusive and this series decides to go in a "bold" new direction. Showrunner Kevin Smith decided that wasn't enough. He decided make it Teela and the Masters of the Universe after lying to the fanbase saying it would never go there. As a fan of the original and the 2002 reboot, I cannot endorse this. It will forever be He-Man and the MotU. Not Woke-Man or Teela. I'll give it at most a 2 just for the animation and certain voice actors. And now that I think of it, Cringer talked too much and too well so a 1. Overall, this series has not respected the original enough. Stop the constant retcon of origin stories (Prince Adam's lineage it offends more than it panders). We will see if it gets better over the season. Expand

I loved Mark Hamill as Skeletor and Griffin Newman as Orko was very fun and heartfelt. I am very excited to see what happens next season. That was quite the cliffhanger to end on! Hat's off to everyone who worked on this. Full stars from me, I am hooked.

Too bad this once glorious has now also been misused as a vessel for pushing the misguided identity politics and virtue signaling.

He is now claiming the best selling character (Orko) was actually despised, and the lead character needed to be pushed aside for a female character to take over. You need to be especially twisted to think this kind of a bait & switch is acceptable. He should have just made a Teela spinoff series, for her own adventures. Instead he went to insane levels of pandering, and ruined what little remained of his reputation.

In case that was not enough to warn you away, he also twisted it from magic to technology based. As if we needed another hadwaving excuse of being so advanced it just looks like magic. Avoid at all costs.
