This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Next Doctor is a charming and sweet Christmas story that gives us a break from the dark and disturbing stories of Series 4. Morrissey is great as the faux Doctor and his character's story is clever, tragic, and ultimately and deservedly happy. The Cybermen get their last story in which they are threatening (they don't become good villains again until the Capaldi era), but the generic, over-the-top, and annoyingly cheesy Russell villain that Mercy Hartigan holds the episode back from true greatness.… Expand
