Summary: Yankee Doodle Dennis: The Mitchells and Mr. Wilson are in Philadelphia touring Independence Hall as the latter tells the family his ancestor helped to deliver the Liberty Bell to the Continental Congress. During the tour, Dennis falls asleep and dreams of being there at the time helping the original George Wilson with the delivery, causing mishaps and mayhem along the way, leading to the bell getting cracked.

Dennis the Barnstormer: Dennis' Grandpa Johnson visits, arriving in an old barnstorming plane, ruining Mr. Wilson's rose garden in the process. To make up for the pruning, the pilot takes him and Dennis for a ride in the plane. While Dennis is excited (and even getting to take the controls for a bit), Mr. Wilson is terrified. After Grandpa Johnson lands for a rest stop, the plane accidentally starts again, leaving Dennis and Mr. Wilson on their own to survive the ensuing flight. They spook people in the park, then are able to put out a house fire by knocking over a water tower. They make it back to the airport just before the plane runs out of gas. After the authorities arrive, they laud Dennis as a hero for putting out the fire.

Trial and Error: Margaret is angry, accusing Ruff of chewing up her diary. Dennis defends him and his mother suggests the dog be put on a fair trial. Afterward, the kids set up a mock court with themselves and their dogs as character witnesses. After they take an ice cream break, the diary gets chewed up even more and winds up in Ruff's dog dish. However, Dennis is able to prove that everyone was getting ice cream at the time except Spike, the bulldog. Further evidence proves his guilt and Margaret apologizes to Ruff, who overaffectionately licks her, ruining her outfit, making her want to take him and Dennis to court again. … Expand
