An excited Peter and Leanne meet with the architect at the derelict Turners joinery building and begin planning exactly how the wine bar will look. They're also grateful when George offers to help out by collecting Simon from school.
George enjoys spending time with his grandson and is happy to spoil him, so when Simon asks to visit Santa's grotto, George is only too pleased to take him.
When they arrive, however, George is highly amused to discover that the department store's Santa is none other than Ken - who's not amused in the slightest that George has rumbled his secret sideline.
A row ensues between the two grandfathers, which results in Ken being unceremoniously unmasked - much to Simon and the store manager's horror.
Gary's full of stories from his recruitment weekend and tells his parents that he's keen to join the Army. Anna's worried that he'll get killed but Eddie's proud of his son and encourages him to follow his dream.
Meanwhile, Rosie continues to wind up her family, while Sally suggests that a bar job might be a good idea in the run up to Christmas to earn some extra cash. Rosie, however, declares that bar work is beneath her. Later, Sophie's not impressed when Rosie offers to lend her a less-than-appropriate top for her baptism.
Becky and Claire are delighted when Liz gives the go ahead to put on a Christmas panto in The Rovers. When John offers a Cinderella script he wrote a few years ago he, puts himself forward as director. Graeme, meanwhile, fancies himself as Prince Charming.
Elsewhere, Bernie's impressed by the effort Dev's gone to for their romantic meal at his flat.
