Summary: Emily blames herself for not having time for Janet. As it becomes clear that Janet killed herself, Emily breaks down. The police tell Ken that Janet died of barbiturate poisoning. Using Bet's story, Suzie tells Elsie she's scared of her landlord as he's into the Nazis. Elsie tells her she can move in for a week whilst she's looking forEmily blames herself for not having time for Janet. As it becomes clear that Janet killed herself, Emily breaks down. The police tell Ken that Janet died of barbiturate poisoning. Using Bet's story, Suzie tells Elsie she's scared of her landlord as he's into the Nazis. Elsie tells her she can move in for a week whilst she's looking for somewhere else. The CID investigate Janet's death and the residents are questioned. Elsie discovers the landlord story was Bet's, she surprises Suzie by telling her she can stay - for her cheek. Hilda criticises Emily in the Rovers over her treatment of Janet. Len is impressed by the way Rita helps to bring Ken out of himself.
