Summary: Betty (Billie Piper) lives in a cold run down flat in a deprived area of Leeds.
Her husband Donald (Joe Armstrong) focuses all of his time on saving in order to give her and their son Mark a better life, but Betty is tired of the bleak monotony of it all and she finds her escape in the Balula Dance Hall. Her husband Donald (Joe Armstrong) focuses all of his time on saving in order to give her and their son Mark a better life, but Betty is tired of the bleak monotony of it all and she finds her escape in the Balula Dance Hall. Here she can escape from the drudgery of her reality and enter a world of glamour and vivacity.
However, it is here that she meets a charismatic Polish man named Craze (Theo James) who asks her to dance and changes her life as she falls passionately in love with him.
