Despite the aforementioned shortcomings, the qualities of The Fishing Place far outweigh them, making Tregenza’s film a fine work of art for the curious to explore.

Erasing Eden’s story is not for everyone. Sometimes I wanted to quit in the same way I almost (and actually) gave up on my friends like Eden. But it pays off in the end if you open your heart and stick it out.
  1. Not that there isn't a story at work here; there indeed is, but only just enough to sustain the action.
  2. AKA
It's quite difficult to find a character we can remotely identity with. This is frustrating because the film is so profoundly well written, acted and filmed.
  3. All the actors are superb in their characterizations and limited sets.

The story's surprises range from clever to annoying, but DiCillo manages to hold it all together with his consistently amusing cast members, who make you laugh at their characters' self-absorbed folly.
  4. An unusual angle on the age-old coming of age story. Filled with solid performances by veteran actors Ivey and Raymond, as well as a captivating performance by newcomer Grace.

Not a film for the faint of heart… A Hole in My Heart is a cinematic challenge that eats slowly at the soul but never insults the audience or its characters.
  5. May not be much more than a story about girlfriends growing up, and it's not going to score any points for edginess, but it's entertaining in a low-key, non-threatening kind of way.
  6. Perhaps Landon could step away from mixing slasher horror with classic comedies and create his own thing. Or maybe this is his thing. In which case, I look forward to The Breakfast Club on Elm Street, especially if it stars Vince Vaughn.

My only real issue is the two leads. They’re crazy and hold nothing back. They are revolting and lovable, but there’s not much contrast between the two or real depth to their characters other than being lazy reprobates.
  7. Situation goes from just a little scary to terrifying.

There’s really only one reason to see Fisherman’s Friends, and it’s the singing.
  8. Craven eschews horror trappings and gore for a well-paced and engaging thriller that keeps the audience involved despite the fact that most of what takes place onscreen is a conversation between two people.
  9. The motion picture skates just above average, thanks to the well-done action and cinematography. The cast tries to overcome their underwritten parts but succeeds only some of the time. Grammer and Dauqin are very compelling, and fans of theirs will be pleased.
  10. Not since Shaun of the Dead has there been such a consistently uproarious zombie movie.

I think what McKenzie innocently started out as a way to educate himself and the audience about cryptocurrency ends up playing out very much like a scripted movie. The film reaches a point that echoes the old saying, “You couldn’t even write this if you wanted to,” which holds true here and is what makes it so watchable.

I like that Bull is shot beautifully in a slice-of-life style of storytelling. ... It’s a subtle tale about the bonds of friendship in times of hopelessness.
  11. The only downside to this delectable third course? The regrettable likelihood that Lecter fans will have to make do without dessert.

Contains enough magic and sincerity to cover the proverbial multitude of cinematic sins. And, better yet, for all the Irishness, it contains not a single alcoholic and not one barroom brawl!
  12. I enjoyed the buildup of trying to figure out how Larsen was winning the game, as well as this incredible cast shining in moments such as Goggins being flustered by unexpected drama unfolding on TV.
  13. Thanks to a compact story and some economical direction, it actually ends up better than it has any right to be.
  14. A friend called Fred Schepisi's ensemble drama "a crusty old white man's 'Joy Luck Club'" -- an assessment that isn't without some kernel of truth.

It’s a welcome addition to the national debate, which while not always on the money, is consistently thoughtful, smart and thoroughly satisfying.

While The Bluff isn’t perfect, it is fun, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas excels at the action, so for an entertaining streaming option, this will do nicely.

The two leads work well. Sammy Sheik has a nice gravity and foxy wits as Gamel. As Gamel’s interrogator, Eric Pierpoint exudes a humanity and weary concern around the judicial mutilation he is tasked with managing.
  15. Offers an unflinching look at the effects of a terminal diagnosis, not just on the victim, but on everyone around him.
  16. Has more than enough charm to make it memorable. Hurt shows a gentleness and subtlety that's interesting to watch in this phase of his career.

Dark Money does succeed in presenting a strong case for campaign finance reform.
  17. It's the journey that offers the most enjoyment. Well, that and the beauty pageant climax, which I won't spoil here, but is one of the funniest scenes from film in recent memory.
