10 Films to See in January
Many of 2016's potential award contenders opened in December ... if you lived in Los Angeles or New York by the one or two theaters where they were screening to qualify for Academy Awards consideration. Matthew McConaughey packed on the pounds for his portrayal of Kenny Wells, a desperate prospector who teams up with a geologist (Edgar Ramirez) to find gold in the Indonesian jungle. Directed by Stephen Gaghan (Syriana), the film is based on a true story and co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Corey Stoll, and Toby Kebbell.
