10 Films to See in February
The shortest month of the year is typically an uninspiring one at the cineplex. But this February is not without its intriguing releases, including a well-reviewed new horror film from Key & Peele's Jordan Peele, one of the best documentaries in recent memory, the year's only Polish vampire musical (so far), an Oscar-nominated animated tale, and sequels to recent successes like John Wick and The LEGO Movie.
Nominated for best documentary feature at this year’s Academy Awards and winner of the same award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association in December, the latest from director Raoul Peck uses James Baldwin’s unfinished book, Remember This House, to look at race in America and the assassinations of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, this is one of the best-reviewed films of 2016, and it finally gets a proper theatrical release this week.
