Drama series debuts November 22 on Hulu
Kumail Nanjiani stars as Steve Banerjee, the Indian immigrant who founded the Chippendales male-stripping empire in the 1970s, in this eight-episode based-on-a-true-story limited series formerly titled Immigrant. Created by screenwriter Robert Siegel (who also created the recent Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy), Chippendales is not exactly your standard American Dream success story—among other things, it's described as a true crime saga and a dark comedy—but the show does feature a strong cast that also includes Murray Bartlett, Dan Stevens, Annaleigh Ashford, Robin De Jesús, Andrew Rannells, and Juliette Lewis. Jenni Konner (Girls) serves as showrunner alongside Siegel, while Matt Shakman (WandaVision) directs. Two episodes stream on day one.
