JRPG
Out November 12 for Switch
The long-running JRPG series returns with its first new installment since the 2016 3DS release Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. Promising a hybrid gameplay approach that mixes elements of SMT3: Nocturne and SMT4, the new game is set in present-day Tokyo—at least in its opening moments, until a minor detour finds your high school-aged protagonist left temporarily unconscious, only to awaken to an alternate apocalyptic version of Tokyo that is being ravaged by demons. But there are good demons, too, and one fuses with your character to turn you into a demon/human hybrid (or "Nahobino"), giving you the tools you need to navigate a dangerous world. (And you can fuse with additional demons throughout the game, giving you unique powers each time.) Atypically for a SMT game (which would usually have a Japan-only launch), this Switch exclusive will get a simultaneous release worldwide.
