Compilation/Action-adventure
Out November 11 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Switch
Rockstar Games' best-known franchise is heading to all current consoles in a new compilation that includes updated versions of three classic games: 2001's Grand Theft Auto III, 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and 2004's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Each of the three games has been newly remastered—including completely new designs for all navigation and heads-up display elements, as well as better resolution and lighting throughout—and the controls for all three have been changed to match those of GTA V (with the Switch version getting the added option of touchscreen controls). In addition, PS5 and XBX versions will run at 4K/60fps.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers will receive the remastered version of San Andreas as a stand-alone game on day one, while PS Now subscribers will get a standalone GTA III on December 7. (It is still unclear if the three games will be available to purchase individually rather than as a set.) Also out on December 7 is the physical edition of the compilation. And a mobile version should arrive during 2022, as should the long-awaited PS5/XBX version of GTA V.
