The latest oddity from French musician/DJ and prolific absurdist filmmaker Quentin Dupieux (Incredible But True, Mandibles, Deerskin, Keep an Eye Out), who once again takes on writing, directing, and cinematography duties, is a lock for the strangest superhero movie release this year. His film follows a group of avengers known as the Tobacco Force (Gilles Lellouche, Anaïs Demoustier, Vincent Lacoste, Oulaya Amamra, Jean-Pascal Zadi), who, after a tough battle with a giant turtle, are sent on a team-building retreat to strengthen morale. As they sit around the fire telling each other stories, Smoking transforms into a bizarre anthology film.
