Adele Lim’s directorial debut follows the international (mis-)adventures of Audrey (Ashley Park), her best friend since 1993 Lolo (Sherry Cola), her college friend turned Chinese soap star Kat (Stephanie Hsu), and Lolo’s cousin Deadeye (Sabrina Wu). With a chance at a major promotion but unable to speak Mandarin, Audrey asks Lolo to go with her to China to help her close a deal, resulting in a series of raunchy and rowdy situations. Written by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao, this hard-R comedy was a hit with critics and crowds at SXSW.
