Every Coen Brothers Movie, Ranked
Joel and Ethan Coen’s 17th movie, Hail, Caesar!, was recently released, and—SHOCKER—it’s getting pretty darn good reviews. So good that it’s one of their 10 best films, according to top critics. And that got us thinking, “What is the best Coen brothers flick ever?”
Now, using Metacritic’s unique scoring system, we’ve found the answer to that very question.
Some of these rankings might be downright surprising. (We’re talking to you, Big Lebowski fans.) But more importantly, which classic Coen brothers flick made it to No. 1?
Fargo was nominated for seven Oscars at the 69th Academy Awards, with two wins (best actress, best original screenplay). In 1998, the American Film Institute named it one of the 100 greatest American movies of all time.
The film also made way for an FX spin-off show -- created by Noah Hawley -- in the same Fargo universe.
