Every Coen Brothers Movie, Ranked
Joel and Ethan Coen’s 17th movie, Hail, Caesar!, was recently released, and—SHOCKER—it’s getting pretty darn good reviews. So good that it’s one of their 10 best films, according to top critics. And that got us thinking, “What is the best Coen brothers flick ever?”
Now, using Metacritic’s unique scoring system, we’ve found the answer to that very question.
Some of these rankings might be downright surprising. (We’re talking to you, Big Lebowski fans.) But more importantly, which classic Coen brothers flick made it to No. 1?
In this 2010 film, the Coen brothers tackled the western genre by remaking the John Wayne classic True Grit. Jeff Bridges was a revelation as Rooster Cogburn, a role that garnered a best actor nomination.
"Terrific: tough, exciting, funny, gorgeous and bewitchingly acted, this is darn close to perfection." —Angie Errigo, Empire
