It mixes both commedy and tragedy excellently. McDormand's Oscar was absolutely deserved but the best performance of film was Sam Rockwell's one. And yeah, it was the best movie of 2017.

It was a movie that I really wasn't invested in but after being told by someone else how great it was, I had to see it for myself and it is a fantastic movie. It is very much a dark comedy but done in a superb way. It makes you chuckle and laugh at the moments where you wouldn't normally and yet you don't feel guilty or bad about it. Frances McDormand is incredible and the supporting cast as well (Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrison etc) also do a excellent job in helping tell this unique story. Expand

Her grieving gets intensified by the lack of progress in police investigation in the search of the perpetrator after 7 months since the crime happened. She rented three billboards demanding faster police action.

The film is listed as a crime comedy but there is not much of a comedy here, it is mostly a dark drama with some sad humor. The protagonist Mildred is played by Frances McDormand, famous for her role in "Fargo" and many other movies.

Her performance is stellar, and in general I would commend on the whole cast's acting.

The script is the only component in the movie that is, in my opinion, not great.

Overall it is an excellent movie that I am sure I will want to see again.

Seven months after her daughter was murdered, and with no culprit arrested, Mildred Hayes puts up three billboards with a message aimed at the chief of police William Willoughby causing conflict across the town.

Francis McDormand, who seemingly never disappoints, is undoubtedly the star of the movie managing to brilliantly balance both the scripts dark humour and tragedy whilst still making Mildred seem like a real person. A few plot points are resolved a little too quickly and neatly, but overall Three Billboards makes for a good watch.

Frances McDormand was wonderful as always, as was the supporting cast, with the likes of Woody Harrelson and the highly underrated Sam Rockwell in what I'd consider his best performance yet. The film and its story felt like all too familiar territory to me at times, and the ending was a bit anticlimactic for my liking, but it still had plenty of funny and memorable moments to at least keep it worthwhile for the most part. Overall, it's not amazing like what I've been hearing about it, but it contains solid work from its reliable cast and an interesting story that keeps it entertaining and amusing enough throughout. It's also worth noting that fans of director Martin McDonagh (In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths) will likely find much to enjoy and admire about the dark humor in this that he's become so well known for. It has some awesome things:

1-The characters aren't angels or demonds. All the protagonists have good and bad things. You know, like most humans! This shouldn't be such a rarity, but it totally is!

2-The funny parts (not always done to make laugh out loud, which is the way it should be) do not require "out of character" stuff. Everything that is funny its really the logical conclusion of the funny situations the characters are in, and their normal responses. That's why this deserves a lot of praise for the writing, which is insanely good (except for a couple of huge mistakes)

3-Then there's the drama/story which is perfectly paced and it has social commentary, but I'm not sure that part is neither revolutionary nor especially interesting. Its good.

The acting is pretty great overall.

Now the gripes: -There is a particularly female character that is treated like a "slow person" for no apparent reason other than some might laugh at her. It seems malicious more than social commentary on that type of person. Because she isn't a person, really, the way she's writen. -The Friends of our "hero?" are DIVERSE. Its too on the nose, and really not particularly interesting giving that they won't even be characters (they do little to nothing). They are "token black guy", only they aren't a black guy. If you don't have those characters in the script, why bother to do this fake inclusion stuff? But still. Great.

For me, it was unexpectedly a black comedy of sorts but rides the line quite well. I personally would have liked to see some more backstory of the characters but it does round most of them out by the end. A really interesting story and something that feels well timed. Frances McDormand is incredible as always but really sells this movie in her performance, Sam Rockwall is also pretty spectacular. This feels like it could be a true story which for me works to help connect with the story, pain, emotion, etc. A really come out of this satisfied and pleased that it did something a little different and pulled it off. The surreal nature and eerie nature coupled with the totally original screenplay kept me deeply involved throughout, which is a rarity for any film these days to keep me that involved every single minute---bravo!! All the acting deserving of many awards and top notch from all the personnel involved. For people here saying that elements were fantastical, wouldn't ever happen in reality---look at "No Country for Old Men" for the model please, and please watch better than your American lowest common denominator fare before you ever judge this. Only the open ended and unresolved nature of the ending threw me for a major curve, and could've perhaps been handled differently . But perhaps that's the point---that many problems in life are never ever resolved. And, I love the complex portrayal of law enforcement and how Rockwell's character changes due to circumstances over time---since I don't really believe that all of law enforcement are dullards, but complex people with much intelligence and families to care for. And, it IS a taxing occupation. Much thanks for this jewel in the season of Star Wars and superhero fluff this year! Expand

Frances McDormand stands out for her hard-nosed turn and, as the lead, will understandably get most of the attention come awards season. However, in my opinion, the always fantastic Sam Rockwell has a more difficult character to portray, necessitating greater nuance and range.

The amount of effusive praise being heaped on the film would likely lead one to believe that this is McDonagh’s best film yet. However, I personally rank it third amongst McDonagh’s three features, behind 2008’s ‘In Bruges’ and 2012’s ‘Seven Psychopaths,’ largely due to a couple of poor casting decisions and unusual plot devices.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is a sad tale of a mother looking for answers about the rape and murder of her daughter. I really enjoyed the first half of the movie, especially the parts with Woody Harrelson. Francis McDormand also did great. The ending is a bit disappointing as I wish there was justice for her murdered daughter. I loved all the suspenseful scenes but I felt like they tried to create too many relationships. After Harrelson's character died, I felt like the movie slowed down a bit but overall the movie good, but not amazing. Overall, I would give it a 8.0. Expand

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Surprisingly, the music is amazing in it, all the tracks are perfect and encourages each and every scene especially when the billboards are burned down, there are couple other scenes too but don't wanna spoil it. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri has the perfect balance of character driven movie and script driven movie and addition to this, an unpredictable one. Martin McDonagh; the writer-director, brings out something new in this genre that has never been witnessed, he plays with his characters and tracks like he is juggling and even his short characters too will make you feel for them (Peter Dinklage and Caleb Landry Jones) which shows the range of the characters and the actors. Frances McDormand oozes power like never before; she is brutal, arrogant, sometimes wrong and surprisingly funny. Woody Harrelson is straight out stunning in it but the real trump card is Sam Rockwell; he almost has a parallel role to Frances and he justifies his presence till the last frame. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri stands out alone in its genre for its unpredictable script, brutal characters and amusing conversations.

Frances McDormand's Milded Hayes is a person whose anger and hatred towards the injustice done to her by the Police Department which failed to catch the rapist and murderer of her daughter, Angela, seems to lead her every move. Yet, do not expect to see the police as a villain here. In fact, Martin McDonagh does a staggering job at removing any evil representation of the Police Department even from the beginning of the film. And he does that through Woody Harrelson's Chief Willoughby who, despite being on cancer's Death Row, is actually the most empathetic and understanding of the characters. This really is a refreshing and long-awaited view on the classic "cops are corrupt, racist and evil".

Yet despite the surprisingly likable and respected Chief Willoughby, the anger found in almost all other characters is compelling them to do disturbing acts - Hayes putting the billboards up even though she knew Willoughby has cancer and Sam Rockwell's Officer Jason Dixon infamous rampage through a window and violently assaulting the man in charge of the billboards. But there is one more subtle take on this anger displaying, which is the message on the last billboard which claims 'raped while dying'. It is clear that Hayes wants everyone to be disturbed and shocked by the details of her daughter's last second, perhaps to make them feel the same suffering as she does.

So, while having a few abrupt tonal shifts, like a deep scene about a deer and reincarnation which, while powerful, felt a bit forced and rushed, "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" is a foul-mouthed sure-fire and efficient cry of inner peace with one of the best performances of the year, especially Sam Rockwell's troubled, childish and bizarre yet funny Officer Jason Dixon.

Instead, we get little doses of criticism and commentary here and there, but with a larger spotlight shown on the complicated, non-binary mechanisms of human morality and behavior that operate in and around these facets of discussion. It's tremendously well-acted, with special marks going to Frances McDormand and the criminally underrated Sam Rockwell for absolutely killing it with their respective performances. A superior cast and direction elevate the material to just a nose above average. TBOEM offers a decent amount of cerebral entertainment and is well produced. At times watching this I felt scenes play out in a way that is somewhat disjointed from itself...(lead character burning the police station?). Also the pacing leads us to seeing characters hopping between locations and time periods with little explanation. Ultimately doesn't live up to the hype but was nicely stylized. Definitely worth a look.

Superlatives : the acting of Frances McDormand is superlative and Oscar worthy and the performances of Woody and Sam Rockwell were equally excellent. One or two will get a nomination. The plot was original and creative and the dialogue was equally creative. On the negative side , the vulgarity is gratuitive, unrealistic and ineffective. That same creative plot was inconsistent. The film lacked subtlety and the rural Missourians were were portrayed as hicks and dumb wits. The longer the movie played, the more unrealistic Frances' actions became. Billboards; yes. Its analysis on a small town’s skewed priorities on law and order feels inspired by the United States’ many cultures, especially from the perspective of Mildred, played by Oscar winner Frances McDormand (Fargo). She never says a single kind word to anyone, but her true personality blooms once she routinely plants flowers in front of her blood-red billboards as if at the Vietnam memorial. Once there, she shares a melodic conversation with a deer beside the highway, keeping her human. The rest of Ebbing, Missouri also seems given up on America’s growth, set instead to let desires run on dunking others beneath self-worth.

Though be warned: the three steps to the feature’s creation appears a tad too rushed. The pre-production process mentions the Catholic church of the town exactly once in the first act, missing out on its powerful potential to serve a stronger MacGuffin to the story beyond just its hindrance to society. The production process’s cheap burn makeup effects look poor compared to the wounds put on Leonardo DiCaprio’s bear wounds. The post-production process disrupts its own narrative flow by throwing a flashback into a moment when dialogue would have sufficed.

Looking at the Oscar’s past Best Picture winners, Spotlight and Moonlight, they both kept a consistent visual style, unlike Three Billboards. Primarily, the editor, Jon Gregory (Four Weddings and a Funeral, In Bruges) was a poor choice to put together the feature; a potential Oscar contender ought to require someone more experienced to present a population of human beings turned into thoughtless advertisements. Likewise, cinematographer Ben Davis (Guardians of the Galaxy) resorts to unnecessarily pointing the Steadicam upwards. If treated like a mockumentary similar to This Is Spinal Tap, then a greater impact could linger in this movie’s legacy.

Now with the problems out of the way, basically everything else in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri accomplishes its civic duty.

Obviously, cops nowadays are no State Farm, so here their portrayal gets treated positively. Mildred’s middle-class family home in particular takes no breather: her ex-husband continues to abuse her while her last shared memory with her murdered daughter reeks in high regret. Maybe the people here were born with it, maybe the pressure to advertise caused everyone to become whatever social message they always talk about. Its timelessness in leaving the precise year vague adds the extra snap, crackle, and pop to the core theme.

My commemorations go to the finger lickin’ good performances by the whole cast, every single one proves the power of an ensemble, particularly the underrated actor Caleb Landry Jones (Breaking Bad, Get Out). Yet Sam Rockwell in particular is after an Academy Award nomination, and understandably so: his performance turns agitated one minute and collapsing in silent tears the next.

I appreciate how Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri knew not to excessively milk its timeliness right after it calls the cops a **** Torturing Business,” since they lack concentration on actual crimes. Although these cops prefer the equally undignified term “Persons of Color;” even they the authorities think Black people fall short against “normal” White people. This mouth-gaping social relevance soon turns ironic once a new Black police sheriff comes into town.

Beyond the Blacks/Police conflict that challenges old stereotypes, jokes about people’s weight and height keep going and going and going without crossing the line towards the offensive. The head of Ebbing’s P.R. business even has the name Red, because everyone else around him sees red—both literally and figuratively!

It’s a greatly clever style of writing which helps you to think different in a harsh way. We all want and need to preach about what makes us pound our fist on the table, and as depicted here, our abuse of our First Amendment rights turns us into our branding, erasing the definition between our wants and our needs. It really boils down to: Where do you want to go today?

Is this 'best picture' worthy? No. Is this a good film? Well, yeah. Three Billboards is unconventional, it didn't take itself too seriously and made me laugh so easily. It's just a shame that the end is pretty dull.

She pays to have three billboards erected, asks the police chief, (Woody Harrelson) - Why? The billboards shake things up, trigger a strange, sometimes violent series of events. Mildred stands strong, is unapologetic despite backlash from the community. Her grief is unrelenting. It is another character, a whole weather system. It fills up the screen. Tchotchkes get smashed, Molotov cocktails get thrown, loyalties change, but this is not your typical revenge movie. Great performances by McDormand, Harrelson and Sam Rockwell (who plays a violent **** of a cop). Abbie Cornish miscast as Harrelson's wife. (She was way too young and watching them have sex was creepy). Near the end a character says, "Anger begets anger" and this isn't a life lesson for us or even an overarching theme. There are no lessons and this made me like the movie even more. It was fresh, unpredictable, dark and at times, really really funny. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a good movie. But it's not great.
There is some excellent acting from McDormand, Rockwell and Harrelson and the supporting actors seems very natural in their roles. But the story just doesn't pay off in terms of the tension it builds up and personally, while I could empathize with a mother losing her daughter in the worst circumstances possible, it is so much more difficult to end up with two people contemplating justified (((murder))).
If nothing else, watch it for the acting which will probably rope in a few good awards in the eventual run.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Three billboards was a pretty entertaining film from beginning to end. McDormand and Rockwell both had great performances, Rockwell moreso than McDormand in my opinion. The humor scattered throughout was well done, it kept the film from getting a little stale at certain points. There were a few things in the plot i had an issue with. I don't expect every film to have a complete, happy ending but it would have been nice if there was literally any progress in finding the murderer. I also understand McDormand's character would be eager to get rid of a rapist, even if it wasn't the one involved in her daughter's case, but I can't help but feel it goes against her entire story to just up and leave her only child alone to travel across the country to murder someone. cada palabra y situación creada por los personajes es incomoda de ver y escuchar, hay una situacion claramente establecida y personajes planos, es irritante ver como nada de lo que dicen tiene sentido, pero es el final cuando los personajes por fin demuestran su naturalidad y demuestran que la trama no necesita mas palabras para crear una sensación de satisfacción.

pdt: Caleb landry Jones salio en cuatro películas geniales este año espero que lo veamos pronto en algún papel principal que le permita demostrar de lo que es capas

OneFor a movie that deals so brilliantly with the complexity of interpersonal relationships that address, but contradict established stereotypes, there are a couple of lazy moments that detract from what could have been a brilliant movie. One particularly lazy moment is a speech that essentially tries to establish the Hollywood stance on the Catholic religion. The town priest was only a prop in a scene so that Frances McDormand could deliver a speech which, although poignant and funny, was so obviously premeditated and could never have been delivered in the surprise of the moment.

Beyond this moment and a few other cringe-worthy statements, the movie is very well done. Also, maybe I'm in the minority, but I really liked the ending!

For example, there is a scene where a teenager at a school throws a soda on the Frances McDormand character's car, and the way she handles it would never happen in real life, and there were no consequences for her actions. In fact, she does several outrageous things without any consequences. There are other unbelievable outrageous moments that I won't go into. Other times the quirkiness works, so it's a mixed bag for me. This movie is definitely not a visitor's guide for the state of Missouri as most of the town are portrayed as bigots, including the police force. The acting was stellar throughout. Lastly, I hated the ending. Expand

Annoying mad policeman, out of nowhere, transform himself into avenger, as well as helper to the desperate. Also the end was desperately dull and also the last telephone dialogue was not that clear, I mean I don't recognized the hint, he gave her, so she decided to visit the probable killer. The movie feels like an ingenious attempt at creating a film that relies on shocking the audience with over the top emotional conflicts that add nothing to the actual story, which feels to me as a response to our modern society with a lack of attention and a constant craving for stories of misery. That coupled with the 1 dimensional rendering of the redneck racists and stupid cops just left a bad taste in the mouth. Also cheesy voiceovers from dead people... no thanks.

I think the deer scene was the moment for me when this one jumped the shark. If you're going to have CGI in your movie, it better be absolutely flawless. If it looks like a badly lit cut out or a glitchy render then you have shattered the illusion of reality and every minor flaw becomes magnified in scrutiny.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie feels severely overrated to me. It's just not good. People just love the main character for some reason, and I don't understand why. McDormand may be a good actress, but that's no reason to like the character. She's insufferable, and you have to stick with her for the whole film. Unlike characters like the Joker, who are just so evil that you can get some distance, I could not get distance from that character. She's just an ass, but there's also no character development, so she just stays like that the entire film, at the end she even considers to kill someone. The racist cop is even worse. He's not only insufferable, but also stupid. And then for some dumb reason, he goes through a redemption arc. Am I supposed to believe that? They act like he changed, but then he suggests to go kill a guy that may or may not be a rapist. He's probably still a racist pig, but after his redemption, he speaks with a very quiet and hoarse voice, so we know he's changed. Very subtle.

There are a bunch of side characters that add nothing to the story, they are only there to get screwed over. Especially the ad boy and the sherrif. The ending is probably the worst thing of the movie. It just ends in the middle of the story. There's no conclusion at all. If that's supposed to be artistic, then call me an artist the next time I leave work unfinished.

The first forty minutes is a dense, blue-gray daze with dialogue that is far too snappy to be rural Missouri. I assume the next hour is the same way because I did not make it after that. It would've taken an alien attack ala Ridley Scott to redeem this absolute bore. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Ebbing Redemption When I saw the reactions to this movie the score, I was like man this is the one, finally after a long time here is a perfect movie to enjoy. Especially it is a movie from Martin McDonagh who brought us In Bruges which I couldn't stop watching it over and over for a while, and Frances McDormand? God this is going to be gooood, so I got the movie, scenes passing one by one, the acting was great the music was great the shots was great as I expect it, but the story was going the wrong way. I couldn't believe things were going on in ebbing, out of nowhere everyone become such a goodie-goodie. Oh my god, the movie lost everything even really good acting specially by McDormand and Rockwell was lost. I couldn't believe them anymore. I think McDonagh wasn't even there when they made this or he was but he was dead drunk the whole time. Come on people look at Ebbing and learn how to erase hate from your hearts, come on people look at this poor old lady who suffered so much of her daughters death and she is the only one who cares, so she decided to become Rambo and waste everyone, but suddenly by that stupid fire scene she decided not to and become a good person and start loving people more. Dixon, the stupid racist looser cop who happen to be gay too, in a matter of seconds just by reading that letter find the way of becoming a better person and a good detective and the only thing he has to do is to sit in a bar and wait for the killer to come and sit near him and confess, after that he have to become Wolverine and take DNA sample in the stupidest way possible or should i say not possible. Woody Harrelson character kill himself so not to ruins everything up like every other character in this movie, I think all the characters should have done the same. I am shocked by foolishness in writing, lots of holes in script, what was that little gay doing in this movie? Is he here just because he is friend with director? Why all the hot girls must be stupid? Why the night they were on a date in that restaurant her x-husband should be there to? Why... Don't waste your time on this movie like I did instead go and watch In Bruges again or Olive Kitteridge just to see what are this people in this stupid movie capable of. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is full of plot flaws, stereotypes and bad writing. A police officer throws someone out a window (in front of the new chief of police) and in not arrested. The main character kicks two high school students in the groin and is not arrested. There are a whole series of subplots that go nowhere. Skip it. Expand

The movie is filled with tons of little virtue signals, and is completely unrealistic and a jingoistic look at the south and southerners. Total dumpster fire. This movie was a big disappointment from the director of "In Bruges." Talking about taking a DNA sample from every baby boy that gets born for the day that boy grows up and breaks the law then "we got em!" which of course assumes that every boy will grow up and become criminals. The only reason that this movie gets a 2 is because most aggregate review sites throw out 0's and 1's. Expand

The story was going nowhere fast and quite a few characters were not believable. The only character that was interesting to watch was the mother of the dullard cop. What was the point of this movie? I didn't laugh, I didn't cry, I didn't get emotionally invested. Also, the casting for some characters was atrocious! Why would that 19 year old girl be with that unattractive older guy? Why would the rapist throw a rabbit figurine in the gift store? I know these were subplots but it starts to get exasperating to watch such foolishness. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Went to see Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and I am COMPLETELY baffled by the critical acclaim for this film. What am I missing here? The film is an utter mess.

The movie is about a mother who seeks to find answers to her daughter's murder by placing three billboards up that demand the local chief of police for answers. The problem there is, the billboards lead only down a country road that hardly anyone drives, so I don't understand why there's such a fuss. When the news stumbles across the billboards and makes it top story on the 6pm news, all hell breaks loose.

The film is filled with too many characters that any one character cannot be fleshed out enough to have any kind of sympathy for them. There are characters in the film, like Peter Dinklage's "James," who just appear to be convenience plot breaks and do nothing, really, to help the plot. And there are characters and situations in the film that are so ultra-violent that you wonder why there weren't arrests made (for example, one scene involves a man who throws another man out of a second floor window in broad daylight, yet he was not arrested for it).

In one scene, the billboards are set ablaze, and the lead character just pulls out this massive fire extinguisher in her car - as if everyone drives with one. In another scene, one supporting character is burned very badly and ends up in the hospital - in the exact same room as the guy whom he threw out of the window! That character, in the very next scene, ends up in a bar - wait, wasn't he just all bandaged up and in the hospital? - and just happens to be there at exactly the same time as someone whom he thinks is admitting something that could possibly end the whole case. The whole movie is just preposterous. It's also very racist, homophobic, misogynist, and ultra violent.

I also do not see how it could be considered a comedy, with heavy topics as rape, murder, suicide, revenge, and the above mentioned racism, homophobia, and misogyny.

WHY is this movie getting critical acclaim???

Is the acting good? Sure - but when isn't Frances McDormand, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Lucas Hedges, Caleb Jones, John Hawkes, and Peter Dinklage good? It's not their faults. It's the script that is a mess - from the beginning to the end.

UGH! I really wanted to like this movie. I didn't like much of it at all. I'm giving it a generous 4/10 - I really want to know WHY critics and audiences are liking this movie. There isn't really much to redeem it.

Only a few characters--probably not coincidentally African-American--seemed to be imbued with any modicum of decency in an otherwise totally dystopian community. I suspect the writer of this sordid swill is some pseudo-intellectual snot who decided to reveal in his screenplay his despicable prejudice against and contempt for what he thinks rural white Americans are like. I have been alive for quite a few years, and I have yet to come across any people so irremediably repulsive as the characters in this film are. The movie is a slog through a sewer. Nothing more. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. such a pity to see Martin McDonagh fall from a decent level in "in bruge" to "seven psychopaths" and then land on such a disaster called three billboards.
no characters, there are no justifiable explanations for what people in this movie do, i mean why on earth would she burn the police station?! seriously?
this is just the tip of the iceberg in this absolute nightmare.

With Francis McDormand heading up the cast you might expect the Cohen Bros may have been somewhere in the wings to push it along – in fact, this work offers many of the depressing earmarks of some lesser Cohen productions (maybe that’s partly why the Academy selected it?) The overly sensationalistic mix contains all the ingredients that one could cram into a plot filled with a continuous succession of near-impossible coincidences (not to mention some perverse PC agenda pushing) With little or no character development and too many stretched situations - we are taken through a series of shocking actions that would land anyone committing just half of them, in jail or would have the local community after the perpetuator’s blood! - but no, our ‘hero ‘Francis violently assaults school kids, dentists, and near anyone she feels like with few saying little more than boo. The local police (an unconvincing bunch of simplistic stereotypes) bash people near to death in broad daylight, and this is all taken as just another day in a town where every inhabitant tends to be on the edge of a mental meltdown. There’s basically no-one the viewer can emotionally identify with or support – unless they too, are on the loopy side of Mental Health Denial. Add to the above, a lazy writer determined to create a swear fest - where all the foulest of outright mean language is paraded - in an attempt to out-shock any that’s gone before. This is somewhat juvenile trendiness in the extreme.

Any viewer bright enough to see beyond a manipulative piece of exploitation - will see this pretentiously overrated concoction for what it is. And for those who attempt to excuse this as “black humour” - it’s just so ‘simplistically’ dark as to be virtually invisible. While it attracted a lot of people to the ticket box, it’s obvious from the Huge amount of viewer feedback - published here, etc; many of these audiences were bitterly disappointed and would like both their time and money back. The end credits thank the local inhabitants for their co-operation but, I somehow doubt many would welcome them back - given the image painted of them! Lol.
