I love this trilogy because these are really awesome, I started to watch this trilogy when I was 10 years old after it came out on DVD. My favourite characters are Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, C-3PO and R2D2.
I love the Lightsaber fight scenes, it’s like Martial Arts
I love the Space Battle scenes because it’s Heart-Pounding
I love the Characters because they’re awesome
The costumes are so cool
The composer John Williams is really great
The sound effects are really cool
The special effects are really awesome

A New Hope: 10/10
The Empire Strikes Back: 10/10
Return of the Jedi: 10/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The original Star Wars is not something you can talk about without saying it was great, in fact it one of the best films ever. In my opinion it's the best Star Wars film. Easily in my top five, but is it the best movie. I'm afraid not. Most people overlook the films flaws because because of nostalgia. Some of the scenes would be removed and it wouldn't effect the movie in anyway, and I can't be the only one to think that C-3P0 and R2-D2 both being captured by the Jawa's and meeting each other again after storming off in two sides of the desert. Maybe it's just nitpicking, but I can't overlook it. Still a great film that should be preserved, so future generations can see it.… Expand

Originally conceived as a serialized popcorn fest, Star Wars surpassed even George's keen and bombastic imagination to become a central part of movie history. My point here is that Star Wars is a classic even to people who don't know Pulp Fiction from Twilight. It has everything you could possibly want: action, romance, midgets, quotable dialogue, and a reminiscent score by John Williams. Star Wars is the definition of success.

Well, I really don't like sci-fi, and so I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but I'd be dicking you if I said I didn't like the original trilogy of movies from the 70s and 80s. For me personally, I feel that the third one (the one where they're inWell, I really don't like sci-fi, and so I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but I'd be dicking you if I said I didn't like the original trilogy of movies from the 70s and 80s. For me personally, I feel that the third one (the one where they're in the place with Pizza the Hut, and he takes Princess Leia as a sex slave out in the desert, kind of like the prophet Muhammad) was the best. Non, ce qui a vieilli concerne le film lui-même, son côté bon enfant, trop bon enfant sans doute, comme ces kinders-suprise qu'on distribue à chacun à la fin. C'est tout ce côté gnangnan qui sera mis à la trappe dans l'Empire Contre-Attaque comme si Star Wars avait d'un coup passé sa crise d'adolescence... pour retourner chez Casimir dans le Retour du Jedi.

Certains dialogues font tache comme dans un dessin animé assez crétin et certaines actions font sourire de dérision comme Vador toujours en train de visser un truc dans son chasseur TIE customisé : on dirait qu'il joue avec la pression du turbo... dans le meilleur des cas. D'un autre côté, on a le vieux qui finit en dématérialisé (ça doit être la Force... dont les voies sont impénétrables pour le béotien) alors on ne va pas trop chipoter.

Comme mise en place de la mythologie Star Wars, cet épisode IV fait néanmoins son office avec application et son scénario est en fin de compte bien plus rigoureux qu'il n'y paraît avec en point d'orgue l'assaut final toujours aussi passionnant à suivre. Lorsque les trompettes vocifèrent tandis que les X-Wing se ruent dans la tranchée, ce moment-là, on est pas près de l'oublier. Un dernier petit quart d'heure d'une efficacité encore jamais égalée.

Ce qui nous amène à la musique survoltée de John Williams qui est aussi importante que le film et constitue son identité, autant de morceaux de bravoure qu'on est pas près d'oublier non plus.

Qu'il me soit permis d'ailleurs d'adresser un hommage pour les trois clampins qui suent comme des porcs sous leur casque, leur peluche ou dans leur boîte de conserve : vous êtes définitivement des héros, vous qui contribuez à l'alchimie bizarroïde de ce bric-à-brac du space-opera dont le tout, on en conviendra, est supérieur à la somme de ses défauts ou qualités. A combination that in theory sounds silly and bizarre (which is partially true), was done seamlessly and what's more important - imposingly, taking under consideration the history of production from the very beginning. With addition of fun cast, now legendary soundtrack, groundbreaking visual effects and non-stop action, one of the greatest movies of all time is right in front of you. There were more complicated plots in the history of Cinema, therefore the movie is not demanding. Two fractions fighting each other - each has their leaders, but one of them has constructed a weapon so powerful, that is immediately on the winning point and therefore, it becomes a space menace. Nevertheless, every menace has its weak points - and this is the key plot device, the plans of ultimate weapons that hopefully will reveal its weak point, allowing for immediate attack and destruction. Our MacGuffin lands on rather boring planet - right in the hands of or young protagonist who yearns of adventure. Now, having precious plans in his possession, he has a perfect opportunity to start his journey. But soon he will realize that he is only standing on top of an iceberg.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The movie that started it all, A New Hope is a masterpiece. Luke, a moisture farmer, yearns for a life outside of Tatooine. His character is relatable, even though he is in a galaxy far far away. Old Ben, Leia, Han, and Chewie make for an amazing array of awesome characters who are unforgettable. The duel between Vader and Ben isn't spectacular but it filled with emotion. The music is what makes A New Hope great and it contains my favorite score of all time 'Binary Sunset.' The whole movie has its very small flaws, but it's a movie that I will be watching till the day I die. That being said, I would give it a 9.6.… Expand

I love this movie. I love how Luke starts out as this farm boy. He starts his journey and Ben Kenobi gives him his fathers lightsaber. It's the beginning of a great story. I grew up with the prequels and like The Phantom Menace and Attack of the close a little bit more but I gave those movies a 8/10 too. Revenge of the Sith I gave a 7/10. But the reason I like the Prequels so much is because of the original trilogy. I love Luke and Darth Vader. So to finally see how Anakin became Darth Vader was incredible to me. To see Darth Vader as Anakin in his prime fighting Dooku was a dream come true because of this movie. Without the original trilogy I wouldn't give a **** about the prequels. Although I still don't give a **** about Disney Star Wars. If you loved the original trilogy but hated the prequels not sure how you could like any of the Disney Star Wars movies. At least the prequels had a good story with character progression and respected the force. Disney Star Wars is a joke going by their own rules about how the force works. Disney Star Wars creates problems for the Original trilogy and the prequels because of what they did with the force. So I don't count Disney Star Wars as real Star Wars.… Expand

While most of the effects REALLY don't hold up, as well as most of the acting, A New Hope is still a really enjoyable film that revolutionized film as a whole.

This film marks a before and an after in the sci fi. It's essential in this film genre, becoming, thanks to an imperishable popularity, a cinema icon, given the social and cultural importance that it has acquired over the decades. With an audience always faithful and unconditional admirers, the Star Wars saga continues to this day to impress and captivate. The actors were always excellent in their roles, the director/writer is one of the biggest sci-fi genius, the script is very good and the story has no dead moments: it's an intergalactic adventure that only stops at the end. No doubt that this film is excellent, it is a work of art. However, it seems that the latest audiences have more difficulty in enjoy this film, given the lack of the colorful and vividness of the actual computerized effects and cinematography. They have to understand that this film has been done in a given period, with all the available techniques at the time. And if they understand this well, they're more easily able to admire it. In fact, although the picture is quite different from what we are used to actually, it's still very well done. The special, visual and sound effects have always been good, and leave us amazed to think it's a movie with more than thirty years. The soundtrack is something that makes our hearts pounding. John Williams did an extraordinary job and managed to catapult himself to stardom, with great and deserved merit. I only have one bad comment to do: some of the effects and scenes, such as explosions and fire in the middle of outer space, where there is no oxygen, are scientifically impossible, and this should have been predicted by the production team before the film release. But this kind of errors are endemic in sci-fi.

This film won the Oscar for Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design, Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects and Best Soundtrack, which shows the quality of the work developed here. Definitely, despite some wrinkles, this film is like a well-dressed and made up lady, looking younger than it really is.… Expand

One Day He Discovers That His Aunt And Uncle Have Been Murdered. He Meets A Jedi Knight Named Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) Who Tells Him His Father Was A Jedi Murdered By The Evil Sith Lord Darth Vader (James Earl Jones/David Prowse) And Trains Luke In The Ways Of The Force And One Day Become A Jedi Like His Father. Along They Way He Meets A Smuggler Named Han Solo (Harrison Ford), A Wookie Named Chewbacca And Two Droids Named C-3P0 And R2-D2 To Rescue Princess Leia (Carrie Fischer) From The Clutches From The Empire. As The Film Progresses Luke Becomes A Part Of The Rebellion And Must Destroy The Death Star As Their First Step Of Overthrowing The Empire. Acting/Characters: The Acting In This Film Is Not The Strongest In The Film, But The Actors Do A Great Job And The Characters Really Make Their Performances Work. Luke Skywalker May Be A Bit Of A Boy Scout, But Mark Hamill’s Performance Makes The Character Work And Makes You Care About Him And Wish For Him To Succeed. Alec Guinness Does A Terrific Job As Obi-Wan Kenobi. He’s Likable, Wise And Everything A Jedi Knight Should Be. Harrison Ford As Han Solo Is Awesome And He’s My Favorite Hero In The Film. He’s So Bad Ass And He’s Very Unique From Your Typical Hero. Carrie Fisher Plays The Not-So Damsle In Distress Princess Leia. This A Good Example Of A Strong Female Led Done Right. She’s Independent, Hot, Well Written Character And A Bad Ass. Then We Get To Darth Vader Himself. James Earl Jones IS Darth Vader And It Will Be VERY Hard To Replace Him. He’s Menacing, Cool, Bad-Ass And Not A Guy You Wanna Piss Off. Peter Cushing Also Does A Solid Job As Grand Moff Tarkin. A Slimy **** Villain You’d Like To See Get What’s Coming To Him.

Writing: While The Film Is Well Written Don’t Get Me Wrong, But It’s Definitely The Weakest Of The Three Films And It’s Not As Strong Empire Strikes Back And Return of The Jedi. Some Of The Dialogue Comes As Corny And You Can Tell It’s Lucas Dialogue At Times. However It’s Not Cringy And It Works.
Action Sequences: The Actions Aren’t As Good As Empire Strikes Back Or Return of The Jedi, But They Are Still Very Entertaining For The Most Part. However The Lightsaber Fight Between Obi-Wan Kenobi And Darth Vader Is Terrible. While Not The Worst Lightsaber Fight In The Franchise, But It’s Very Lame And It’s Not Very Realistic. However I Think Obi-Wan Dies At The Hands Of Vader It Actually Makes It Work And Makes It Heartbreaking. Special Effects: Most Of The Special Effects Still Looks Great, And Still Holds Up Really Well. However Some of Them Are Kinda **** Don’t Hold Up Really Well.
Overall Opinion: Even Though It’s My Least Favorite of The Original Trilogy, But It’s Far From My Least Favorite From The Franchise. It’s Still A Great Movie And I Love It.

Star Wars (Episode IV) is THE science-fiction classic because even today, over forty years since its release, it resonates with audiences of all ages due to its compelling characters, timeless story, and perfectly practical visual splendor.

From its opening sequence, Star Wars just sucks you in. It wastes no time in setting up the stakes of the situation at hand: the rebels are outgunned, outmanned, always on the run, and on their last leg that they have to stand on. These tense circumstances are built up from the introduction of Darth Vader as a ruthless, cold, insurmountable opposition force and they never let up as the story quickly moves from one action-packed plight to the next.

The visual effects in Star Wars were fantastic in 1977, and they still remain mostly convincing decades later due to the fact that there is so little reliance on computer-generated imagery. The sets are beautifully constructed and the use of tangible models makes for surprisingly believable space-travel scenery. But this would not be enough without John Williams' score. The music for this film is not just some of the most iconic in cinema, but arguably some of the best music ever composed. It always perfectly syncs with each scene and is ultimately what helps elevate Star Wars to classic status.

The fairly standard story of good versus evil is anchored by strong characters with significant arcs. There is not a single main character in this film that is remotely the same at the end as they were at the beginning. Luke grows into someone that is never content with inaction. Han grows to recognize the value of family and community. Leia comes to accept her role as a political figurehead and grows to fill it. Conversely, Darth Vader, who at the story's start was so scary and unstoppable begins to show vulnerability and fear at the story's conclusion. The actors portray this progress as well as they can, but many of the minor characters deliver disappointingly poor performances that really bog down the emotional force that drives the rest of the film. Still, the writing is mostly quick and smart and it makes up for some of the minor moments of lackluster acting.

The pendulum begins to swing for everyone involved in this tale, and Star Wars is not just a fitting first chapter to one of the greatest sagas of all time, but it is one of the greatest films of all time. It excels at nearly every aspect of filmmaking and expertly crafts a world that is worth becoming emotionally invested in.

Also, this movie is brilliant in that it really is the most basic story ever told. It is just the heroes journey in its most basic form, but done incredibly well. Apart from the aliens, there is not a shred of originality in this story, but it all works together so well that it creates something wholly new. From John William's perfect score really just being Holst's Planets to the iconic text crawl being ripped straight from the thirties, nothing is truly new. The way it all fit together to create a franchise with its own unique identity means it had to use all these parts in its own way. It did this flawlessy. 10/10… Expand

Final sequence is a brilliant homage to 'The Dam Busters' that should pleasantly surprise film buffs in the know. Technical effects are slightly rough around the edges at times but always impressive.

Wonderful cast with solid performances all around; would love to see Fisher, Ford, and Jones (with emphasis on "see" in this last instance!) in more films in the future. SF fantasy is a bit of a departure for Sir Guinness; and yet he fits perfectly in the role. Also look out for Peter Cushing as a particularly chilling enemy general. Three and a half stars.… Expand

Epic and fearless. Great characters (unafraid to give non-humans, women, and guys who shoot first a key role). Vader deserves his iconic status. This is an amazing movie on its own, it's hard to deny the influence this movie had on Sci-Fi films for years to come. Even nowadays, this is still a pretty entertaining and fun movie to watch.
The Good:

-Good acting.
-Even today, the visual effects are incredible, as CGI was basically a toddler back then, they had to use tons of practical effects that have aged very well.
-Its pacing is great. It's always moving forward and everything that happens in the movie is important to the plot.

The Bad:
-Nowadays it's almost impossible to find the first cut of the movie and now the official versions of the movie available today are the remastered special editions that add unnecesary scenes with ugly and unnecesary CGI that in some points take away from the movie.… Expand

Os efeitos especiais são incríveis. A identidade visual criada por GeorgeClassic is a Classic. Star Wars IV, mesmo após 43 anos, o filme parece tão... "Recente". Queria muito ter vivido essa época para saber quão revolucionário o mesmo foi.

Os efeitos especiais são incríveis. A identidade visual criada por George Lucas é lendária, junto com a OST e os próprios personagens que tem peso na cultura pop mesmo após todos esses anos. Muito difícil que alguém não tenha escutado o nome "Luke Skywalker", "Darth Vader" ou "Han Solo". Isso já prova o quão memoráveis eles se tornaram.

Mesmo sem efeitos visuais de peso - comparando com o cinema atual - a obra ainda é convincente. Claro que Darth Vader poderia ser muito mais intimidador, como no jogo "Jedi Fallen Order", mas não deixa de ser um vilão do c******.

O enredo é aparentemente simples, mas pra época não era "manjado". A ligação entre os personagens acontece de maneira gradual, lembrando muito aqueles filmes "sessão da tarde". Inclusive, se espera uma obra conveniente e lógica, está assistindo o filme errado.

O filme também é uma viagem no tempo prazerosa pra quem é fan de cinema. As transições criativas; planos mais abertos, sem muita fluidez na câmera; as limitações - que hoje são básicas - como o próprio Chroma Key; Os efeitos práticos, que eram mais comuns na época.

Enfim, eu diria que é um filme obrigatório para cinéfilos, mesmo que não simpatize muito com a saga Star Wars.… Expand

This is one of the best star wars movies ever. Very well written Story, really good actors, amazing effects for the 70s and spectacular music. Such a classic :) And oh boy Vader got that swagger XD

This is one of the best movies of all time. It's not for everyone, of course but it's a classic, nevertheless. Some of the FX are dated but many still hold up to the test of time.

A masterpiece and my second favorite Star Wars film behind only Revenge of the Sith. Great action scenes at Tatooine, Death Star, and this movie also features my favorite space battle in all of Star wars at the end. The original Star Wars film made me think differently about movies as a kid and still had an effect on me as an adult. The story is something we've all heard before, but in space. The sheer amount of time, money and passion that went into making this film is precisely why it made 100 times it's budget. Always a classic and still makes money today.
On the other hand, a chance to see the Star Wars Trilogy in theaters for it's 20th anniversary was something that I couldn't pass up. Unbeknownst to me, George Lucas was not only adding to the films but was systematically destroying the originals as well. After watching A New Hope 'Special Edition' I had mixed feelings with the additions to the film. I recall saying "they could've kept that out" for some scenes. Overall, somewhat of a mixed bag when I thought about it.
I give the original a 10/10, but the special edition gets a 5/10.… Expand

1977. 5 yrs old. Dressed in my Sunday best and went to the theater and saw Star Wars larger than life...my young self was changed forever. 3 of my 4 children were of this world when it dawned on me that this movie wasn't actually filmed in1977. 5 yrs old. The film that started a legacy. Telling a simple but classic story of a hero's journey and created a world that would influence pop culture for generations to come, the original Star Wars is a wonderful classic that deserves to not be missed.

If I could use one phrase to describe Star Wars 1977, I would call it ‘beautifully simplistic’. If you had to explain the premise of the original Star Wars to someone who had never heard of the franchise, you might find it somewhat hard to make the plot sound like anything extraordinary. Rebels in space fight to free the galaxy from a tyrannical dictatorship? That’s the best I can do...
Like the narrative, the characters aren’t really all that complex. Luke is the noble hero who achieves greatness from small beginnings. Vader’s helmet is all that prevents him from being the traditional mustache twirling villain. Leia is that helpless damsel who turns out to be quite the opposite. Han is the scumbag smuggler who behind all his rude remarks is really a good guy. Old Ben is the kind mentor who acts as a sort of father figure. These archetypes further reinforce my point that there is little actual complexity to the film. No matter how hard you try you cannot disguise what the original Star Wars actually is. A swashbuckling adventure of good vs evil, and a journey to discover oneself.
It is all of these familiar themes that we’ve experienced before that culminate to into something truly magical. It reminds us of the imagination we once had as a child, with its innocence and simplicity, which is why it is often mistaken for a film solely aimed at children. I mentioned before that most of the characters are just archetypes, however this doesn’t mean they are nothing more than just clichés. Vader may sound like a pretty typical bad guy, but the contrast of his slick black armor with his thousands of white painted legions, and the superb voice acting from James Earl Jones make him extremely intimidating. Leia and Han may appear simple at first but their sharp, witty dialogue and conflicting personalities make them a perfect pair. I could go on and on about how everything in the movie has more to it than meets the eye, but for the sake of preventing this from being a rave I’ll leave at that. Of course you can’t talk about the originals without mentioning the revolutionary visuals, that inspired generations of filmmakers. The practical effects, whether it’s the models built for the ships or the the painted on color of the lightsabers, are absolutely fantastic, and are one of the main reasons the film has aged so beautifully. Coupled with the amazing score by John Williams and you have an atmosphere that really draws you in, and makes you want more even after it has finished. In my review for The Rise of Skywalker I ranted about how poorly the score was used, and I stand by that statement. The reason I was so displeased by it was because all the leitmotifs established in the original trilogy were used just to add music to the background, rather than signify a recurring character or theme. In the original Star Wars, Williams creates numerous memorable leitmotifs to represent the individual characters, the most notable ones being the imperial match for Vader, and Luke’s theme (the title music). Aside from that we have the extremely well known force theme, which has now been reused in pretty much every piece of Star Wars media imaginable. For every one of these leitmotifs Williams implements extremely simple but effective musical techniques in order for them to have the desired effect on the audience, for example, in Luke’s theme, Williams uses ascending leaps of perfect 4ths and 5ths to convey a feeling of bravery and heroism.
Before I finish up I would like to talk about the finale of the film: The Death Star run. I personally think that this is the most pivotal sequence in the entire franchise, as not only is it the moment that signifies a tipping of the scales in the war against the empire, but it is also the point where Luke finally has the chance to prove his worth, completing his journey from zero to hero. Whilst I am glad that the next two movies came, it is because of this that I believe that Star Wars didn’t need sequels, as Luke’s most essential arc is complete. On top of the incredible storytelling at this point the Death Star run also looks fantastic, and I love the constant killing off of fellow pilots in order to increase the tension. Ultimately, the original Star Wars is a beautifully constructed masterpiece and easily my favorite in the franchise. It’s delightful simplicity, wonderful storytelling and memorable characters are why it is so deeply imbedded in our hearts, and it is one of the most revolutionary sci fi movies of all time.… Expand

This is one of those rare movies that start an epic saga, which it did. Great acting beautiful FX that stand the test of time. Realistic and gritty with sprinkling of humor. Charming characters that u can associate to and lot of memorable moments.

Plot was somewhat simplistic, but it was action packed and entertaining largely due to it being fast paced and lacking any real dull scenes. However the characters could've been far better, after all the main characters are just an ambitious farm boy, a Princess with a typical Female personality, an animal that doesn't talk and barely does anything and a cocky annoying space cowboy. I'm a huge fan of the Star Wars Prequels and prefer them to the Original trilogy and I was very uncomfortable when Han was hitting on Leia in this film. I felt Han was sexually abusing Leia and I kept crying that Vader would find out and be so sad. Han seemed more masculine and stronger than Anakin, but I hated Han so that made me feel even more hopeless for Leia and Vader's situation with confronting an annoying pervert. Honestly Han was so annoying, gay and strong that I had nightmares of him sexually abusing Anakin after first watching this film. Avoid this film if you're a homophobic and love Anakin so much.… Expand

Hace mucho tiempo, en una galaxia muy, muy Lejana.... llega el comienzo de una IP monstruosa y el inicio de una historia fantastica y muy divertida en busca de destruir la Estrella de la Muerte, y la fuerza guiando a nuestros heroes para cumplir su tarea; el Argumento trata de que el malvado Imperio galactico que lo controla gobernado por el Emperador y Darth Vader, logra capturar a la princesa leia, ya que ella tiene los planos del arma suprema del Imperio, La Estrella de la Muerte, pero no es hasta ese mismo instante donde los planos de la Estrella de la Muerte se los dá a un adroide en forma de barril llamado: R2-D2, que tiene de amigo a otro androide dorado llamado: C-3PO, y los dos droides escapan de la nave y llegan a un planeta desertico llamado: Tattoine, donde llegan a la granja de un granjero llamado: Luke Skywalker, que vive con sus tios llamados Owen y Berú Lars, que logran comprar a los dos droides, y Luke mientra limpia a los androides vé un mensaje holografico en R2-D2 de la Princesa Leia destinado a un tal Obi-Wan Kenobi, y al llegar la noche el droide R2-D2 se escapa a buscar a Obi-Wan, y al día siguiente Luke y C-3PO, van a buscarlo y lo encuentra y tambien encuentran a Obi-Wan Kenobi que ya se hace llamar Ben Kenobi, y ven el mensaje que era para Obi-Wan Kenobi, que era una invitación para ir al Planeta Alderaan, nativo de Leia, y allí ayudar a la rebelion y entregar los planos de la Estrella de la Muerte, y ahí Ben Kenobi invita a Luke a irse con él a Alderaan y le ragala el arma del Jedi el sable de Luz y le dice los caminos de la Fuerza que es el poder que une al universo , en un principio Luke se niega a irse ya que debe quedarse en la granja con sus tios, pero despues vé que el Imperio mató a los Jawas que le vendió a R2-D2 Y 3PO, y después vio que el Imperio mató a sus Tios y destruyó su Granja y deside ir a la aventura con Ben Kenobi y sus droides, llegan al puerto espacial de Mos Eisley en Tattoine, y llegan a una cantina donde Ben Kenobi conoce a una especie de hombre Perro llamado: Chewbacca, que los lleva a conocer al capitán del Halcón Milenario llamado: Han Solo, que acepta llevarlo pero por una gran suma de dinero ya que le debe mucho dinero a un vil gangster de baba llamado: Jabba the Hutt, y entonces parten no sin que antes los delaten con el Imperio, y logran escapar con el hiperimpulsor del Halcón Milenario, que los llevó a la velocidad de la luz, y al final llegan a Alderaan pero el Planeta no está, ya que La Estrella de la Muerte la destruyó, ya que la Estralla de la Muerte tiene el poder de destriur cualquier planeta, y al final nuestros heroes se infiltran a la Estrella de la Muerte y tras que Luke y Han se disfrazan de StoormTroopers y se separan de Ben Kenobi, para que él desactive los escudos de protección de la Estrella de la Muerte, mientras que Luke, Han y Chewbacca, deciden ir a rescatar a la Princesa Leia, que la tienen capturada Darth Vader y el Gobernador Tarkin, y al final la logran rescatar, mientras tanto Obi-Wan Kenobi después de desactivar los escudos de la Estrella de la Muerte, Obi-Wan se encontró con su antiguo alumno Darth Vader, y tienen una pelea con sables de luz, que termina cuando Obi-Wan ve a Luke con sus nuevos amigos a lo lejos y se deja vencer por Darth Vader y desaparece al morir para unirse a la fuerza, ya despues nuestros heroes logran escapar de la Estrella de la Muerte en el Halcón Milenario, no sin que antes el Halcón Milenario tuviera un pequeño enfrentamiento con los Caza Tie del Imperio, y descubrir que el Halcón Milenario esta siendo rastreado por el Imperio, y despues llegan a la base de la alianza rebelde que quiere acabar con el Imperio, que queda en un planeta llamado: Yavin 4, y allí analizan los planos de la Estrella de la Muerte, y descubren que tiene un punto debil en un hueco ultra pequeño y acto seguido Luke junto a miles de naves de la Alianza Rebelde se lanzan a destruirla, y el unico que logra destruirla disparandole a su punto debil es el mismo Luke Skywalker gracias al poder de la Fuerza, y al destruirla Darth Vader escapa bien cabreado, mientras que los rebeldes festejan en una ceremonia de conmemoración de medallas en un salón del trono y así acaba la película; las actuaciones son geniales ya que te crees de verdad los personajes y sus funciones en la historia como la humildad de Luke, la arrogancia de Han Solo, lo empoderada de Leia, lo paciente y comprensivo de Obi-Wan Kenobi, lo leal y temperamental de Chewbacca, la dualidad torpe de los androides, lo frio, malvado y calculador de Tarkin y lo malvado y temperamental de Darth Vader, aunque no está bien manejado en esta pelicula y lo mejorarían en la secuela, los efectos especiales increibles aunque este hecho con maquetas y titeres, y se mejoraron en años posteriores; la Banda sonora espectacular y muy recordada.… Expand

I say start, I guess that depends on the (seemingly) controversial way of watching these films - I've decided on release order, so it's the beginning for me anyway. I've heard a lot about 'Star Wars' so I amA quality start to the franchise.

I say start, I guess that depends on the (seemingly) controversial way of watching these films - I've decided on release order, so it's the beginning for me anyway. I've heard a lot about 'Star Wars' so I am expecting big things, this didn't disappoint whatsoever.

I unquestionably enjoyed this! If I didn't know this was released in 1977 I would never have guessed, it still holds up astonishingly well. The special effects are spectacular for the vast, vast majority; even the stuff that perhaps hasn't aged as supremely still looks superb.

The cast are a joy. I actually wouldn't say any performance sensationally stood out, but all the actors and all the characters are so much fun to watch together. Mark Hamill is impressive as Luke, Harrison Ford is entertaining as Han and Carrie Fisher is super as Leia. Credit also to James Earl Jones and Alec Guinness, among others. Despite not watching until now, I literally already knew all of the character names - shows how timeless these are.

The plot makes for top notch viewing, I found the pacing to be particularly spot on. And how about that score? Stupendous! I really have no negatives for this, I'm sure it isn't perfect but I had a very fun time with it.… Expand
