Probably my favorite superhero movie of all time. I don’t remember ever being as excited for a movie release as when this became out. It definitely lived up to the hype!

But then again,
Oh boy. OH BOY! I was eagerly waiting to review this one. My favorite movie of 2021. And I'm not ashamed to admit that. Is this objectively the best movie of that year? Naah. Not when this is the year that also gave us Dune.

But then again, I think superhero movies in general have become such a broad concept to adapt that I don't think they should be judged alongside "real" movies. They are in a space of their own. The only superhero movies of the recent years that I would call real cinematic masterpieces are ironically both DC movies, The Batman and The Suicide Squad. There, triggered all the obsessive MCU stans, mission of the day accomplished.

And yet, I cannot help but love this movie so much. What a time to be a Spider-Man fan. I was initially scared, I thought that this could potentially fail exactly like "Spider-Man 3" and my all-time nemesis "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". A movie with five villains, three Spideys AND Doctor Strange on top. No way this was gonna be a good third entry in the Homecoming trilogy. It sounded messy and desperate. And I have never been so glad to have been proven wrong.

"Spider-Man: No Way Home" is a movie that made me cry all of the five times I've seen it now. There's so much passion and respect for three generations of Spider-Man here, I really couldn't have asked for more. Just thinking about it fills me with joy and that really is the magic o
that cinema can provide. Ah, the magic times of last year, where WE weren't burdened with the cesspool of human misery called She-Hulk. A time where I was actually excited for new output of the MCU. There, bashed She-Hulk again, I'm on a roll today!

Okay, enough chitchat, let's dig into the movie. Is it completely bonkers with a janky-ass plot that marries magic, advanced tech, multiple universes and webslinging science nerds? Yup. And that's what makes it good. But what really makes it GREAT is the emotional weight of it all. This is one of the most gripping Spider-Man narratives since Spider-Man 2 and Into The Spider-Verse (another cinematic masterpiece, almost forgot). Every actor is bringing their A game into this. Tom Holland as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man? Great of course, best he's even been. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon as MJ and Ned? Charming as always. Marissa Tomei as May Parker? Oh man. THAT scene. Still hurts. J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson? Not quite SM2-levels of awesome, but he's still good. And also big, big win for including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock aka a really good lawyer. And what a rogue gallery this time, damn. Alfred Molina is still great as Doc Ock. Jamie Foxx as Electro is FINALLY put to good use, thank the heavens. And can we please talk about Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin??? Best MCU villain ever. Don't @ me. He was already great in Spider-Man 1 Back in the day, but they upgraded him so hard. Beautiful, nothing to add.

And yeah, let's talk about the elephant in the room: Andrew Garfield and Tobey Macguire are Back as their Spider-Man versions. First, lemme just say: F*CK YEAH ANDREW GARFIELD IS BACK OMFG YAAAAAAS!!! Second: Oh cool, Tobey Macguire is back. I mean, okay, I was never the biggest fan of his take on the character, but the Raimi trilogy made all of this possible in the first place, that's why it'll always have my respect. And he's just such a nice dude. Seeing both of these icons back on screen gave me a serotonin boost for an entire decade. And they didn't just bring them back for fanservice, their characters we're developed in an organic way, giving them more years of experience and fitting troubles, because Spider-Men (and also regular ol' humans) are constantly trying to do better. And I love the impact they had in MCU Spider-Man, being the mentor figures he deserved. Tobey as the experienced youth pastor Spidey and Andrew as the middle-child Spidey with way too much crackhead energy. Every moment with the three Peters on screen was pure perfection. "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" wishes it was this movie. Everything came full circle here and it was amazing.

The CGI was a little bit spotty, but that's really all of the more major complaints I can think of. Soundtrack is just honey for the soul...and ears, of course. Those old themes back again and the new MCU Spider-Man theme with the added chorus and extra oomph, just mesmerizing.

Call me a fanboy, call me a shill, call me a consoomer, don't care. Not when this movie made me so happy when I honestly didn't expect it would. Everyone who says this movie only lives through nostalgia and fanservice has never been a true fan of what Spider-Man is and represents and I will not discuss that.

Alright, that's a wrap on the Homecoming trilogy. One of my favorite Marvel trilogies ever, next to Guardians of the Galaxy and...well, the Raimi trilogy. Can't wait for the future of this character in the MCU, hopefully he teams up with Daredevil. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Until then...

See you, Spider cowboy.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It was a well-made movie. The story was perfect, even tho the movie was stuffed with villains they did a good job in ensuring they did not repeat mistakes from spider man 3, which was great. And some of the villains like the green goblins turning their back on Peter seemed to like how they would and was well written. All the character arcs were well written and well made. The only con could be that the motives of the villains could be a bit better and the CGI. Nonetheless an amazing movie. Expand

Spider-Man:NWH is a great film and one of my top 10 fav of all time.First the CGI is great look's amazing and beautiful,The story is simple but it work's great with the character's and there great but the film have some problem's like Some of the villians like the lizard/Dr.Curt Conners being barely in the film like in the middle part of the film he is in a truck with only 1-2 scene and I constontly forget hes in the film and this also goes with sandman he also only have some few scene but he have's more of a comidic side with him being sand.
That's not all TBH the film hade some Plot convenience like Ned becoming a master at making portol's despit us knowing it take year's to master making portol like dr strange(I din't wacth any of the dr.strange's film at all).
But at the end of the day Spider-Man:No Way Home is a great film and good out way the bad especilly the death of aunt may and the final battle.
And that's all Spider-Man:No Way Home is a great film

Also, this movie is the darkest in the new trilogy, even the ending is kinda sad, and although it is sad I wasn't expecting for that, so the break in expectation was really good and make the plot interesting the whole movie.

It is also worth to mention how well the movie managed to get together references from all Spider-Man multiverses including the new MCU (Avengers, Dr. Stranger)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Además del fan service, Spider-Man: No Way Home entrega una narrativa convincente y emocionalmente impactante.

In many ways it absolutely does, but in some other ways it does fall a bit short. The film starts where Far From Home leaves off, with Spider-Man thought to be a killer and his name exposed to the world. This creates a hell of a problem for Peter Parker (Tom Holland), so he goes to visit Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to see if he can help. Strange creates a spell to help, but accidentally opens a portal to the multiverse, allowing villains and fellow Spider-Men to make their way through into their universe. As a Science Fiction geek I love the whole idea of multiple universes, but as a film reviewer, I can't ignore the glaring plot hole here. Why did only Spider-Men and Spider-Man villains come through the portal? I also loved the fact that Andrew Garfield and Toby Macguire came back and played a part in the film, however it seemed like they were having a bit too much fun with their roles, and not taking it very seriously. Most of their dialogue was jokes and instead of fellow superheroes from another dimension, they really came across as more of a gay couple than anything else. Finally, where was Miles Morales? ...and don't give me any of this he was a cartoon **** This was a perfect opportunity for Disney/Marvel to address the lack of cultural diversity among their superhero franchise and they didn't do it.

That being said, this was every Spider-Man fans dream. This film not only appeals to fans of Marvel, but to Science Fiction fans as well. The whole multiverse angle was ingenious and will tie directly into the next Doctor Strange movie. It was also a blast from the past and brought back great childhood memories to see the other actors who portrayed Spider-Man in those roles one more time. As always Tom Holland was spectacular, the writing was clever and good for a few laughs, and uncharacteristic of most Marvel films, even the ending was unexpected. Despite the obvious plot holes, I really enjoyed this film and I think you will too.

The short review: Teens and fans would absolutely love this film! However, I think it is merely good and also rather frustrating.

Related media: I have seen all of the MCU films apart from Eternals, which I’ll watch on TV instead. Shang-Chi was great in the first half and only OK in the final quarter.

What's it like? With Peter Parker’s alter ego exposed in the previous film, he goes to ask Dr Strange to cast a spell for the world to forget he’s Spider-man, only to ask for more and more exceptions mid-spell-casting, thus screwing up the spell. A frustrated Dr Strange attempted to fix this spell only for Peter to interfere again, thus creating an even bigger mess. Mid- or post-credit scenes: One mid- and one almost trailer-length post-credit scene.

Positive: 1) With villains of other Spider-verses coming into this universe - it’s in the trailers - I had expected the obvious things to happen, but it wasn’t that straightforward, so kudos to the writers.

2) There are some very funny jokes between characters of different Spider-versus, some of which are real-life jokes about the actors themselves.

Negatives:

1) In the first MCU Spider-man film, Peter Parker messed up while trying to catch the villains, thus leading to a ferry being split in half. In the second film, he messed up by giving the special glasses to the villain, thus leading to the destruction in London. In this third film, he messed up again. This trope/storyline is just far too repetitive, as if there would be no other plotline that does not involve Peter messing up. I understand that Peter is a kid growing up, but is any kid going to mess up in three big ways in their teens?

2) Teens and fans would absolutely love this film, because of the appearance of the characters from other Spider-verses, but the directing of a few of these critical characters was poor, thus leading over-emotional and slow performances. Some 15 min could be chopped off from this film.

3) The final battle was very confusing because there were too many characters and director did not do a good job.

4) The mess created by Peter Parker was not satisfactorily resolved and leaves much to be desired, but I do not think this would form any part of the sequels to this – yes there will be more MCU Spider-man films!

How would the different age groups rate this:

Children: (not rated for children).

Teens: Excellent.

Young adults: Excellent.

Medium-age adults: Good. Old adults: Average. This may just be too confusing/frustrating for them.

My rating: 4/5 (no half scores). Worth it to watch it in the cinema.

The FX had a nice balanced into it. And I really like how they worked the soundtrack. The actors are superb. Many of them do they roles with a lot of subtleties and that makes the final product feels less tacky. That doesn't mean that everything is very logic. It doesn’t disappoint in fan service department and what’s great that it serves a purpose in terms of story. Comedy was done extremely well for the most part (except for some jokes here and there that didn’t land at all) but I felt that during the second half of the film there were too many jokes that conflicted with high stakes situation that characters were facing. In addition, certain moments seemed like an antidote to critical thinking. Some of the issues could have been resolved without that much trouble and ultimately the ending feels like a bit of a letdown for that same reason. However, the final film in the "Home Trilogy" of Marvel's MCU Spider-Man brings my rocky opinions of Tom Holland's Spider-Man to a very fun, very endearing finish. This film tugs at the heart of the characters journey and brings him full circle. Thanks to the excellent, Spiderverse inspired joining of different characters joining the film from other iterations of Spider Man, No Way Home flies higher than its predecessors and settles on a close 2nd place to Spider-Man 2 in the rankings of best films with the character. I was particularly pleased to see Doctor Strange interact with Peter Parker - the attitude the older characters have towards our young adolescent spider based superhero I did find amusing. I like that these films don't entirely take themselves too seriously, although some people may disagree but I feel that's the case, with some of the tongue in cheek comments between different characters in the script.

Obviously if your a big fan of Marvel films in general then this will mean more as you'll know the back stories to at least some (if not all) of the numerous Marvel characters present in this film but even if not, its still a pretty fast paced and entertaining film regardless. There's plenty of CGI and its quite tense throughout. This is a very entertaining, amusing and sometimes quite gripping film that I enjoyed and I would happily recommend to others, yes. Spiderman No Way Far from Homecoming

I can somehow never remember the title, just the latest part with Tom Holland, so part 3.

Yes, I'm a real fan of our current Spiderman. The nice spider from the neighborhood got good films and delivered it again with its third part.
I jump right in with the beginning, which really annoyed me at first. The film's weakness is that it's staged badly at times. At the beginning you get into a completely chaotic start, which ties directly to the predecessor. Understandable, but I found the production simply exhausting. But it got better with the appearance of a certain person and from then on there are always great highlights. The whole concept of the multiverse also enables one or the other fan service.

So comes what must come and I was very happy about a certain performance. It made me feel nostalgic straight away and it was just cool to see him again.
Otherwise, the film surprisingly also has a lot of dark and sad moments, although one or the other production was a bit over the top. Not all of the gags worked, but he was able to make me laugh or smile.

A very eventful film with some of the coolest antagonists around the spider. References to the potential of the multiverse are always hidden in dialogues or scenes.

All in all for me after the Eternals debacle another successful Marvel film. 8/10 spiders.

I didn't think Marvel would come up with anything this spectacular after Endgame. The new Spider-Man may not surpass the Avengers in my opinion, but he's damn close on their heels. This was unreal. All three Spider-Men together. Seeing Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man on screen was a dream of mine and this movie made it come true. When he showed up, I thought I was gonna cry. Aside from him, I was very happy to see old familiar bad guys like Goblin and Octopus, who were absolutely excellent. I keep raving about how much I enjoyed the return of familiar faces from the Spider-Man trilogy, but I also have to praise the line of the current one or Tom Holland, which was also wonderful and had some really great moments. What I was very pleasantly surprised by, and actually can't believe, is how much they managed to cram it all into two and a half hours. It's already a longer film, but with a giant cast of characters. It's all very fast-paced here, so I wasn't bored at all and kept getting adrenaline shots. Wordless action. Totally unreal. Famous. I enjoyed it so much. As I mentioned the film is fast paced but despite that there is nothing rushed and I felt like every character had their own space. I don't understand how Marvel does it, but in short, they've proven that they can take bigger bites and do a great job of it, and I'm smiling. This movie had huge potential, no doubt. I was worried it wouldn't live up to it. I'm having a hard time judging it here. I'm slightly disappointed by some things and slightly pleased by others. Some things have been pleasantly surprising, others have been disappointing. In short, I could even imagine some moments that would have been perfect with all three Spider-Men, but unfortunately it didn't happen. On the contrary, there were other moments that I didn't expect and I was very pleasantly surprised and they were really cool. But I think it turned out great and with a few exceptions I'm absolutely satisfied. It's already a longer film and if all the potential was to be used, I really don't know how many hours the film would end up being. But a lot was accomplished in 2 and a half hours, for which I take my hat off. To sum it up. Spider-Man: No Way Home is, in my opinion, one of the best Marvel movies ever made, and for me, a great movie that I recommend. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The end result lived up to the hype. To every hack writer in movie/TV, forget your idea of subverting expectations. Deliver a product that exceeds expectations through exceptional execution. This movie did exactly that. There were several "spoilers" that the masses saw coming a mile away. But, when said spoilers revealed themselves, people still squealed/clapped/gasped in the cinema because the execution was fantastic. This movie is right up there with Raimi's Spider-man 2 and Into the Spiderverse with respect to my favorite Spider-man movies released.

On that note, the movie wasn't flawless. Speaking of hack writing, whoever thought it was a good idea to have Green Goblin stab Spider-man (Maguire) near the end, please leave the movie industry entirely. To have him get stabbed, then walk it off and quip "it's not the first time I've been stabbed" was nothing short of cheap writing - no payoff. If you don't have the bravery to kill him off, don't have him get stabbed. What was the point?

Also, I may need to rewatch it because I don't understand the ending. In the beginning, Peter was going to wish that no one would know he was Spider-man. He mucks that up and Dr. Strange decides not to finish casting the spell. Much later... Green Goblin destroyed the box that was holding together time/space and would have returned all of the characters to their multiverse. Everyone from alternate universes who knew Peter was Spider-man was entering the MCU universe. For reasons beyond our understanding, completing the original spell would restore everyone to their correct universe and seal the "cracks" in the multiverse. Sure, I can get that. These people are only entering the universe because they know Peter is Spider-man, so forgetting that would set everything right. But why did the spell suddenly turn into "everyone forgets Peter exists" rather than simply forgetting Peter was Spider-man? Perhaps I missed some dialogue that explains this. However, it feels like a cheap way to get a somewhat fresh start. I also don't understand how that would work - and this is coming from a guy who just goes with things like people who blipped in planes, came back safe on the ground because "Smart Hulk" wished it so. Like, are there yearbooks out there will empty spaces where Peter's picture used to be? Do MJ and Ned just have gaps in their memory when they were hanging out 1-on-1 with Peter? Does MJ think it's weird her social media pages say she's in a relationship with some random guy? This "solution" creates more questions than it does solve anything.

Even with the ending having two things I felt were the result of lazy writing, I still thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

The first ~30m of the movie is very cringy, everyone behaves like an angsty teenager, the character writing there is immature, feels like it was written by a teenager for teenagers who think this is edgy / quirky but in fact it is irritating. The other factor that pulled down my score was MJ's character. Zendaya's smug "tell it to the white man" attitude I find superbly irritating, every time she opened her mouth I just wanted to skip ahead, she was easily the worse MJ character of all time. When she straight up told Dr Strange to shut up and say please, I was like "oh my god, just stop please skip ahead.. Soo cringy.. The rest of the move was OK, familiar characters create predictable nostalgia, CGI is acceptable. All in all not that bad with crappy parts. Expand

With the MCU becoming increasingly like a serial TV show, you really do need to stay on top of things in order to get the most out of the film. If you are though, you'll really enjoy this film, as it has heart, is well-acted, respecful and unique in the way it handles the Spiderman franchise.

Still, if you aren't fully committed to the MCU, you'll struggle to get all the nods, references and implications. I'd even say you might miss the gravitas of what's at steak, as this film serves as soft reboot of the MCU Spiderman.

I will add that I feel a lot of the user reviews are a little exaggerated, because if you ignore all the references, the core story isn't that great. Still, it's well executed and sometimes that's all it takes.

Review by Jon Donnis

Following on directly from the previous film, Spider-Man's identity has now revealed, and with that Peter Parker sees his life and the life of his friends starting to unravel, Peter asks Doctor Strange for help. Create a spell that will make people forget that Peter Parker is Spider-man, however when Peter tries to change the spell in the middle of it being cast, everything goes wrong, and now the multiverse has been opened.
Enter some of the baddies from previous incarnations of the Spider-Man franchise, and eventually previous incarnations of Spider-Man himself, and you have one of the best Marvel films ever made and a bunch of Spider-men, although Holland refers to them as Spider-mans.

However one major problem with opening up the past in this way, is it really makes you realise how good the Tobey Maguire Spider-man was, and how terrible the Andrew Garfield one was. Not to mention the Maguire Spider-man has by far the best looking suit, as well as being the only one who could fire real webs from his wrists.

Tom Holland however has cemented himself as the modern day Spidey and being way closer in age to what the character is supposed to be helps massively.

Big action scenes, decent story, old faces and new ones. Potentially a good reset for Tom Holland's Spidey with regards to future films, it is hard not to recommend Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The Good

Great to see Tobey Maguire again in the Spidey suit, easily the highlight of the film.

The Bad

Rehashing old villains seems a bit lazy.

Overall

The best Marvel film in a while.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I didn’t think I would love this movie as much as I do. Probably my favourite Spiderman movie of all time. It looks great, it sounds great and it is amazing. My main issue is the whole reason for all the crazy multi-verse stuff happening. Now if you look past that you find that this is a real gem of a film.

Peter wants everyone to forget that he’s Spiderman, except for MJ, Ned, Aunt May and maybe one or two more. Dr Strange is given those exceptions midway during him casting the spell. Why not just hash it out beforehand instead of just jumping to ‘brainwashing the world’. That’s not like Dr. Strange’s character to do something like that. Peter’s character would be a little wishy washy like that since he has been so far in this MCU but the doctor is smart and has a thinking brain. He might even talk Peter out of it or make sure that they get the parameters of the spell correct before casting it. Ridiculous!

Everything else is brilliant. Bringing Daredevil into the universe I absolutely love it. Are we going to see a stand-alone movie or a series with him. I hope so. And if so I will get Disney Plus for that series or movie. Love that character. I nearly cried when I saw him.

But that wasn’t the only returning character. The three Spidermans were on screen together. It wasn’t just cameos, they were proper supporting characters in this movie. And the way they had Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman catch MJ felt like it was closing his arch. A second chance for redemption after he was unable to save Gwen. That was beautiful. Toby’s Spiderman showed why he’s the GOAT. He is wise and offered what useful information Tom Holland’s character needed to hear.

The way the movie ended I didn’t care for, not because it was bad no, it wasn’t the ending I wanted. And that venom teaser we got a few months back was a bluff it turns out. Eight I think is fair. It is leaning on the nostalgia factor a little bit but it works. Really cool they got the cast that they got.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Good:
Much better than the previous two, being the first good MCU Spider-Man movie. The use of villains from previous films is done respectfully, the supporting cast actually feel like real peopl, and Tobey and Andrew are here, not as cheap fanservice, but as characters that propel the plot forward. Even with all the new characters, the movie does justice to Peter (Tom H.), MJ and Ned, which was surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Not so good: My first gripe is the comedy, while most jokes landed really well with the villains, some of them are childish and it feels jarring to watch serious characters do that. The way the whole multiverse is setup is also forced, a common trend with this director, as both Peter and Dr. Strange got their IQ lowered in that scene so it could happen, as simply any of them pointing out exceptions for the memory spell would have solved the whole movie, which cheapens the plot. The motivations for the villains feel forced too at some points, and I didn't buy Aunt May's motivation to try to help everyone, any adult older than 25 knows that thats not how bad people work, and this is further proved, IMO, when she gets killed by some1 she tried to help in first place. Not only that, but it also causes Peter to end up completely alone, which proves Dr. Strange was ,sadly, right. The reason I point out more bad than good is cuz I think all of it was easily avoidable, making the movie even better.

Conclussion: Still liked the movie, a great nostalgia trip and sets up a great Peter Parker for the future trilogy that has been announced in the future. Im actually excited to see what happens with MCU Spider-Man now.

- First Time Watching It -
This film is the Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but perfectly done. It's replete of a lot of characters with a lot of stories and moments very different one each other, but it has a great assemble and achieves fluency during all the film.
If Avengers Endgame moves our feelings based on a 10 years nostalgia of Marvel's films development, Spider-Man: No Way Home shakes us based on 20 years nostalgia of our childhood and our passion to become a hero like Spider-Man. It manages to be a tribute of everything about Spider-Man and in the same way achieves the best development to this character in the MCU, it exposes everything it represents to be not just a superhero, but be Spider-Man and its perfect on that.
I'm gonna say, for the excitement, everything feels so natural and organic, but it really isn't. The events that occurs have an explanation but it doesn't abounds a lot in that, to be concentrate it on moving our feelings in any way, during first impressions this is unbelievable, but in the long run isn't see very well.
About all the characters that appear it, they get a righteous participation in the film, but we need to see more and more and so much more.
In a few words, Spider-Man: Far From Home is too good to be truth.
Rating: 9/10 - Second Time Watching It - Like I said in my first review, this film won't see very well like the first watching. Everything of which we yell for loses its impact and only the nostalgia of the emotions that we felt the first time watching it as a massive film event remains and that's a good thing that fits.
Now, in a deep way, the best of the film is the whole story arc of Spider-Man's Tom Holland, leaving aside everything about the multiverse. Now it does feel like a Spider-Man movie and not like a MCU film.

Final Rating: 8/10

It was an incredibly fun ride with great fan service. The plot and pacing is all over the place so I suggest completely turning off your brain when watching this. If you are someone who requires a proper movie structure with depth and groundedness, this is not the movie for you. There were times when certain logic holes seemed too noticeable to ignore, which did hinder my enjoyment of the movie a bit. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Excellent movie, very well made with great acting, great effects lots of fan service and - praise god - not an ounce of wokeness. The only reason I can't give it 10 points is due to the main plot line not really making sense the way it is done. Dr. Strange is supposed to be the sorcerer supreme, I don't think he would be like "yeah, lets just go the basement and cast an extremely complex spell without any preperation, what can go wrong". He probably would make sure nothing can go wrong and it still does.

I have to take another point of for contradicting the avengers movie. Why didn't he just cast a spell and make Thanos forget he likes to kill half the universe? Obviously Strange just knows the spell, no look-up on magic-google required.

But both points are real nit-picking. Spider-Man is far and wide the best thing I have seen in a long time. So go and enjoy!

The movie is very good and enjoyable, especially for original spider man fans. I watch the movie twice and it was still enjoyable. It wasn’t perfect but it was fun watching Peter Parker, MJ and Ned go out for another adventure.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Amazing movie! Something Spider-Man fans never thought they would see on screen, and it is still surreal! I feel as if Tom plays a great portrayal of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. This movie shows the best acting out of Tom across the three movies, and his emotions stand strong. I think also with seeing the other adaptations of the previous Spider-Men all in one movie can stop the comparison and bashing of the three actors. Seeing them together and how they interact with each other shows how they are the same, but also different. Everyone complains about how one actor doesn't play the role to a "Comic book accurate" Spider-Man, and that is a valid point. I feel as if it brings more diversity to how people see Spider-Man. In my opinion, to rank the three actors that played the role, they can each be interchangeable.
Some gripes about the movie is that I never got attached to MCU Aunt May. Even in Homecoming and Far From Home, I feel as if she was barley there. the only thing I can think of about Aunt May is that she's attracted to Happy. In NWH she was very important part and had the most screen time out of the three movies. With that being said, I didn't really care for her death. of course it was a sad I will admit, but I could not connect for some reason... until she mentioned the "Great power comes great responsibility" line. I say this is relevance to when Tobey and Andrew explain how they lost loved ones in their own movies and explain that with being Spider-Man, it is inevitable that a loved one will be lost. In my opinion, I feel as if that's the most significant thing about Aunt May's death.
Another is that this movies has a lot of characters for good and for the worse. Mainly on the villains. I feel as if the Lizard and Sandman had little to do with the movie. not to say they played a bad role or they sucked in the movie, but if they weren't in it, there could have been more screen time given to other characters.
Lastly, I think that Marvel provided too much information on this movie before it was released. If you're a big Spider-Man fan like me, every other week you were looking up videos and articles for how the story of NWH was going to pan out, also if Andrew and Tobey were going to be in the movie. The hype began to run down the more information I knew about the movie. It felt as if I knew 70% of the movie. Of course leaks, and rumor's are inevitable, but with the trailers, I feel as if every single villain didn't need to be shown, to add an element of surprise.
Those are just some nitpicks, nothing that distracts me from not liking the movie. the fact that Tom has empathy for the villain, and wants to cure them is a nice idea. Again seeing the other Spider-Men was something I never knew I wanted. the conclusion is great as well! Tom decides to go through with the spell and have everyone forget him. as he goes back to Ned and MJ he decides not to reveal himself for one it might be hard to persuade them to remember a person they don't know towards the end of the movie, and two, he knows the consequences of people knowing his true identity. Can't wait to see what's in store for the next movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It was a fine movie, but the lame ass attempts at baiting with nostalgia. Rubbed me the wrong way, now look it is by far the best mcu film but that doesn’t excuse the lazy mcu jokes/writing. The setting up with green goblin was amazing and William knocked it out of the park. This is the best mcu Spider-Man movie because he finally gets his ass whopped. The best experience I’ve had in a mcu film by far loved it can’t wait to see more! Expand

My only (logical) gripe: "Make the world forget I am Spider-Man"

...and the world forgets that Peter Parker also exists. Despite any academic history. Despite any employment history.

The premise of disassociation twixt Spider-Man and Peter Parker failed completely and ruined the logic of the entire plot.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me just start with this. This movie is not a 10/10 movie. Their are flaws in some writing bits, directing just after the start, as well as both Sandman and Dr. Connors’ parts in the film. What it makes up with is a nostalgic trip that has a well put progression in it instead of shoehorning in the characters into the plot randomly (don’t get me wrong, getting both spidermen was some dumb luck) It takes some underdone characters and fleshed them out through their screen time, (namely Aunt May, Electro and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man.) even taking the great characters and giving them a spot to shine once again for the fans. (Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man) the bits are reminiscent of some into the spider verse moments but doesn’t follow that all through the 3 Spidermen moments. The ending was also the biggest risk taken in the franchise since the last two avengers films. Which adds to a satisfaction that is uncommon when stepping out of was once a comfort zone for Marvel, into a wild card that is waiting for a moment when he is completely independent for a chance to show again that he is truly a great solo act. That’s a great part that raised the mark for me. Also the memes were also lol XD so funny wow what a treat.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Good movie but there is a lot of plot holes
Pros:
-Very good support casts that really made the movie for me

- reintroduces the villains of the previous Spider-Man’s

-great plot development - includes Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire Spider-Men

-amazing character development __________________________________________Cons: ___________________________________________-Villains for the most part where push-overs. I never felt like that the main character was ever really endanger. I personally felt that Mystero was a more menacing villain even though he had no super powers. On top of that the final battle with green goblin h made him look like a push-over (He landed 3 punches then the main character landed a 100+ combo)

-At the end when Strange wipes everybody’s memory; I thought to myself wouldn’t they still know that Peter is Spider-Man since the Mystero recording still exists and all the news/social media reports.

-How come Ned can use magic out of nowhere and it took Strange to almost die on Mount Everest to learn it.

-How come Ned knew there was only 2 Spider-Man’s after summoning Tobey Maguire and didn’t try to summon anymore Spider-Men.

All and all it’s a solid film and a good addition to the MCU universe.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expectations and hype can be harmful sometimes, because they can be so big that a movie cant quite possibly reach them. And thus, I actually wanted to see the movie a second time to double check my feelings on it.

But its been a while and I think I have digested the movie quite enough to pretty much have a very concise opinion about it even if I see it more times. - And overall, I can agree on it being good, and yet still feel somewhat dissapointed with it. Let me explain, and for that I may have to talk some spoilers.

As a story and the final movie to a trilogy, the path for Spiderman and his growth as a character is quite good, and everything that happens in the movie purposedly pushes his character development and at the end, its very clear the importance of the events gone through here. And thats a good thing and I do believe thats how it should have been. I applaud the director and the writers for not derailing too much from the main focus, which is their own MCU Spiderman.

Still, having all the villains from the past Spiderman characters, Tobey Maguire's and Andrew Garfield´s own Spiderman as well, is a concept that just screams for off the wall action and excitement and this is ironically the one point where the movie faulters. Seeing those characters, specially with the uncertainty of their appearance in the movie, was always going to be exciting, but could they have possibly handle their first appearance more un-excitedly?

This unfortunately extends to the final action scene which is the only one that has the other 2 Spideys, which by itself, is already kind of dissapointing. I think we all imagined quite the epic undertakings, but its only this one fight and it isnt that spectacular - it lacks tension and also lacks true standout moments for each of them. Sure, a lot of boxes are checked, like Tobey meeting Otto, and Andrew´s Peter saving MJ, but everything feels less exciting than it should be. The direction here and the tone for everything is misshandled comepletely in my opinion.

Writing this I do realize that maybe this is a director issue more than the actual concept of it all. But I found the movie to be good only for its checking of the boxes and also for its good implications for the character at hand, but the excecution of it all was very underwhelming if I am honest. No Way Home has everything to be Infinity War/ End Game material, but it isnt, and I find that a missed opportunity.

Since his identity was compromised and the public scrutiny has destroyed his life, he goes to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to help him return to anonymity. Of course, things go wrong and all sorts of surprises enter this world from other universes. The structure follows the typical storyline, but ramps up with extra villains and heroes. Holland once again exhibits his charisma and he’s surrounded by a cast of assured actors whose chemistry (sometimes comic) is a bonus. The pace never lags until the final conflict, which drags on too long with much of the usual staging that looks more like a videogame than reality. Fans should be thrilled at the meta revelations, while everyone else can expect more of the same for this series. NOTE: Sit thru the credits for a teaser for the next Dr. Strange film. Expand
