The final installment of the Jurassic World trilogy is a fun movie, but falls short being the finale. The movie should have trimmed out some unnecessary scenes, at times it was boring and dragged on. Compared to previous films in the series, the dinosaurs feel the least threating, as barley anyone dies in the movie. It would have been far better if they did not include the locust storyline as it felt out of place and forced with the rest of the movie. With the exception of the Giganotosaurus, the new dinosaurs were all amazing additions. The Therizinosaurus was especially great, as well as some new prehistoric animals not included in the trailers. The main human villain was mediocre and forgettable. The Giganotosaurus was a disappointment and boring. The parts of the movie that do work, however, are amazing. The dinosaurs are by far the best part of the film. The inclusion of the original characters was also a welcomed addition. Overtime, hopefully others will warm up to Dominion.… Expand

The movie is very entertaining for the most part. The spectacle is there, some charm of the characters are there, and the action set pieces are very well done. It is purely more of an action adventure film. The first act is very messy but the Malta sequence in the second act is absolutely riveting. Michael Giacchino's score is fantastic as always especially during that Malta sequence. I love the new Biosyn theme, as well as the Giganotosaurus motif. The visual effects are dazzling and the designs of the new dinosaurs are stunning as well. The Maisie Lockwood subplot is somewhat mediocre and doesn't have much weight unfortunately. The movie is too long and some of the dialogue scenes with the Dodgson character as well as the main protagonists just drags sometimes. I saw it 3 times in the theaters already and I don't understand why people seem to dislike the film so much. It's competently done popcorn entertainment and I really enjoyed the hell out of it.… Expand

This movie is over hated. While definitely far from perfect in terms of quality, just relax and watch this movie for the dinosaurs and the action which in my opinion is still pretty solid.

Jurassic Park Dominion, the supposedly 'final' installment of this trilogy is a general letdown in many fronts. Like most of these so called new reboot-sequel, the quality declines with every installment. Sometimes restraint is required, and that is exactly what I wish this movie would have done, to lay off for a second or two to late me catch my breath. There were some great moments with Bryce Dallas Howard swimming through a pond covered in duckweed and Chris Pratt being chased not by motorbikes but by velociraptors in Malta in Bond-esque fashion. The Dinosaurs spring up every chance they get which is exciting at first but the novelty quickly wears off. A new live-action dinosaur appears every two minutes and packed in back to back like sardines and characters stare at them stunned like they were still seeing them for the first time. I know if it was me all I would be thinking, 'it's just another animatronic dinosaur, nothing to see here'. If the dinosaurs were fewer and further between when they came on screen their presence would be impactful however what can you do when you've let them all out. At the end of the day less is more and that's no less true with Jurassic World Dominion. It might leave you motion sick and queasy but it is a rollercoaster ride nonetheless. They stretched the formula as far as it could possibly go (and sometimes further) and I for one am relieved its all over. Time for some long earned rest for the franchise.… Expand

Funny how the whole world broke out in Dinosaurs when only a couple were let free in the last movie. Plus a lot of the dinosaurs on the loose weren’t species that were let go in the last movie.

It’s nice that there’s a raptor with feathers. Though, why ? A couple of dinosaurs were let loose and raptors suddenly look how they are supposed to ?
There’s a little too many heroes and it never felt like any were in danger. The movie needed more villains with guns to be eaten.
With that said it was nice to see the Jurassic Park characters team with the Jurassic World characters. Though all they really get to do is run away from dinosaurs together. While saying that they know each other’s work.… Expand

I swear at one point I realized that they had “Pitch Meeting” their way of getting out of situations with such “super easy barely and inconvenience” that I gave up and just tuned out the dialogue. That’s when it started to enjoy it. Just the spectacle. It’s too bad because there were a couple of legitimately great ideas that they could have focused on instead of flopping down the next “high stakes problem” that fell flat because there was rarely any tension on screen. Also apparently the CEO of Apple, AKA “Tim Apple” (ha), is now biotech guy. None of that was subtle and I actually liked that. Can’t recommend the movie to fans of the franchise, but kids will enjoy it.… Expand

I just watched the movie on Amazon Prime Video. I enjoyed it for the most part. The plot can be messy and convoluted. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Where to start...the movie was okay, there was some good action moments and some dumb moments.
The CGI of the dinosaurs were actually great, that's one positivity I can give for this movie and also Jeff Goldblum out did himself in this movie.
Other than that the movie was everywhere, some parts didn't make sense, you got some new evil characters in the movie that only appeared in the movie for a few minutes and have no other part in the movie after that.
And this whole "evil corporation" taking over the world is getting tiresome, I can't keep up with all these different evil corporations through out the series. It's like who are these people? How are they tied into the original movies? And why should we care about them? It's very confusing.
Oh and the clone daughter, yeah had no idea who the mom is, apparently she was one of the biggest and skilled scientist in the first movie, but she was never mentioned in the first movie at all. Like why? Why was she some part of an important piece in the first Jurassic Park movie, if she was never mentioned? I don't know... my son was very invested in the movie being a big dinosaur fan, makes me happy to see he's enjoying it.
As for me I would rather watch something else. Again it's an okay movie, got cool parts here and there. But the original Jurassic Park movies 1 through 3, is the best in my book. The first Jurassic World (aired in 2015) movie was great but after that it just started to get boring. So this is an average 6/10 rating for me.… Expand

The nostalgia of seeing the original cast, and a few cool scenes with some never-before-seen dinosaurs are about the only redeeming moments of what is otherwise a badly written, disjointed story and overall disappointing experience for fansThe nostalgia of seeing the original cast, and a few cool scenes with some never-before-seen dinosaurs are about the only redeeming moments of what is otherwise a badly written, disjointed story and overall disappointing experience for fans of Jurassic Park. This is the first movie of the entire series that really makes dinosaurs the least threatening element of the film, which is probably relevant given the circumstances of the world right now. The beginning jumps right in where the previous movie left off, with dinosaurs roaming freely across the world in every major country, state and city. In short: dinosaurs are not nearly as dangerous and terrifying if they are left alone and have a whole world to roam in. This is a major departure from the source material, Michael Crichton’s brilliant novels of the same name, where dinosaurs being unnaturally resurrected from the ancient past displaces man as the dominant species of the earth. The dinosaurs are not at risk by man, but the other way around. The new Jurassic World trilogy flips this paradigm to make an obvious nod to modern animal rights and preservation movements. The change in philosophy does not serve the point of the movies as being suspenseful monster films. They probably don’t even realize it, but it actually patronizes nature itself when it portrays the largest and most dangerous creatures to ever live on earth, still at man’s mercy to be saved.

Each sequel has an evil or irresponsible corporation at the center, messing with nature for it’s own gain. In this one, it’s a new corporation called Biosyn (read: Bio Sin) that has created a prehistoric locust that was secretly released into the world (which they are covering up) and is threatening to destroy the food supply. Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) one of the original cast members from the first movie wants to investigate the corporate headquarters to prove this was a lab-leak (sounds familiar). The scenes with the original cast bring back warm memories of the first film and trilogy, and they seemed pleased to be back. They brought charisma to the story and their scenes were more enjoyable than their counterparts. If they had focused the story on fewer characters, I think they would have more time to develop a plot.

The final failure of the movie was not telling a good story. The locust theme ends up being paper thin and under-developed, along with the “villains” of Biosyn or what it is was they were actually trying to do. It would have been cool to see more of the “evil corporation” theme developed and perhaps show a lesson on real corporate greed, since that’s obviously what they wanted to do. On a positive note, there are some very interesting new species of dinosaurs showcased. At least two scenes provide a genuine jump scare, and there are some excellent visuals. The dinosaurs were there for thrills and danger, but the movie was about taking down a corporation and stopping a global plague. And once all the usual chase scenes and explosions we’ve seen a million times were through, and all pointless characters had their backstories filled in, even at 2.5 hours there was too little time to develop a compelling, central story.

I would probably advise that even fans of the series save themselves a pricey movie ticket and stream this when it’s available. For those looking for a suspenseful monster flick, go ahead and skip.… Expand

A long back then, who never felt the dinosaur hype? This movie clearly to lit our nostalgic memories about that hype! All the cast from the old movies to the latest movies are perfectly aligned in this movie. Also, rumors said this is the last movie for Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to be cast.

There are 2 main plots: a) the special kid of brilliant dinosaurs scientist, Maisie Lockwood accidentally hunted down coz she have special DNA; and b) Biosyn company that secretly develops illegal research about dinosaurs, their crop product, and gonna create unintentional global disaster. Ofc, both plots brought us to all the old cast and the new cast.

Nostalgia seems vividly can be felt. The screenplay looks like purposively creates nostalgia, especially the scene and the moment. The great cast also supports the greatness of this movie blockbuster. They are well-performed to give specific char personality.

However, the main cons are the ordinary storyline. Nothin great or amusing enough. Thrillin sensation or emotional moment? Nah-uh! Besides, every char seems just standard quality or nothing prominent enough. Maybe because they're trying to be fair to give equal screen time for a lot of great actors. Nevertheless, the visuals and music are just fine.

In conclusion, it's a good movie to lit our nostalgia for dinosaur phenomenon. It makes us more soothed as if we've passed a long-life journey coz we barely realized how long have been passed since the 1st movie of these came to us. Watch it or missed it, nothin' special but it is still good.

Good dinosaur action scenes but the plot could have been better. This is my first review on Metacritic so keep that In mind. I went into the film wanting a nice enjoyable film about how Dinosaurs have took over the planet and how it effects the humans living among them.
"life finds a way" It was good seeing the old cast from Jurassic Park and it work well when the old cast getting introduced to the newer cast. The chase scenes with the Velociraptors chasing the new cast was really exciting to watch and getting to see underground organisation on how they transport the dinosaurs to the sanctuary was good to learn too.

Why I have the score of a 6? Overall, I thought it was good popcorn action movie and I enjoy my time with the movie. The special effects of the dinosaurs was good, the music was ok, the acting was good but I felt some of the lines were a bit cringle at times. It only happened once or twice. The plot was ok but I felt that more could have been done. I would have liked to see more conflict between the wildlife of today and the dinosaurs like a loin going up against a T-rex would have been really cool. I also felt that characters were too safe at times, what I means is you have a lot of characters since at this point of the franchise it would have been a good to see some characters go out in a blaze of glory so I would feel something for these characters and my score would go up but at least 1 point but instead barely get injured.(If you watch the film at the point where the characters exit the plane you will get what I mean). The Locust plot was a bit out there. I did see what the point of the Locust was but don't really get why create something like this in the first place. The final battle, I thought was very satisfying. Could I recommend this movie? sure. go for it. If you are wanting a fun time with dinosaurs, watching characters escape death from being a dinosaur happy meal then I recommend this movie.
(update on review 11/6/22) I would say now the film is above average movie and 6 is more reasonable score and I thought a 7 was being too generous.

The movie is alright. If you like dinos you will like it. BUT its literally coincidence the movie so nothing actually makes sense but if you turn off your brain and just watch it at face value its meh.

If you're seeing this for the dinosaurs and the legacy characters, its a more than passable film. Is it the worst one in the series? Nah. Is it the worst one in the series? Nah. The problem with this movie is that, they marketed it as , "Oh, the Dinosaurs are loose and humanity is no longer the top dog. Life found a way blah blah blah" but its really only like that for one scene. The rest of the film theyre like trapped in this forest preserve and have to stop these giant mutated locusts from taking over.

The plot itself is a jumbled mess, I can sort of understand that they had ALOT of difficulties filming this movie because of COVID restrictions and they probably had to make a ton of changes to things to adapt to the conditions.

The positives are the dinos, they look fantastic and they're really doing fine work making these things look as real as possible. The legacy characters are fantastic even though Alan Grant is mostly playing second to Ellie Satler and Ian Malcolm is kinda there but he contributes more towards the end of the film. Bryce Dallas Howard's character is given the most development from the new characters, she's easily improved the most since the first one. My favorite new character is actually Kayla Watts, portayed by DeWanda Wise. Wise does a great job in bringing a likable and badass side character that offers some laughs too.

Besides the jumbled plot and so-so direction, Dominion was passable.… Expand

"Jurassic World: Dominion" is as much of a soulless, disjointed and frustrating experience as you've been hearing it is, with some truly crushing mediocrity on display in the narrative department. This is a movie that hedges all of its promotional material — and its opening montage, to boot — on the central question posed by the conclusion of its predecessor; can dinosaurs and humans truly coexist? In that, you're expecting what? Probably a movie involving the characters at hand trying to grapple with dinosaurs in a civilized environment, right? Welp. What we do get is yet another movie featuring a cadre of characters traipsing around a failing wildlife sanctuary, followed by an ending montage that would have you believe the movie just answered the aforementioned question at hand, even though it really, truly hasn't in any way, shape or form. In fact, the central plot of this movie is split between two groups of characters — Chris Pratt's Owen Grady, Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire Dearing and Isabella Sermon's Maisie Lockwood, and then Sam Neill's Dr. Alan Grant, Laura Dern's Dr. Ellie Sattler and Jeff Goldblum's Dr. Ian Malcolm — leading to a wholly bifurcated feeling to things. These two narratives never really coalesce in a cohesive, natural or satisfying way. More importantly, the split time ends up betraying every character in the film with an ultimate lack of development. Add on some of the most confoundingly agitating retcons I've seen in a franchise film in quite some time and you get a real disappointment at the theater, dinosaur fights and legacy character appearances be damned.… Expand

It does not leave a feeling that this is not the third part of the "World" that should be removed, that this is not a story at all, but a working out of "homework". I’d say it’s the best of the “Jurassic World” trilogy, but only because it evoked indifference rather than anger. This isn't a good movie about the challenges of co-existing with dinosaurs in nature. This is a bad movie about a kidnapped girl, and locusts eating crops. It does have a few good action scenes.

The biggest problem is that you have two casts of two generations of movies and they don't interact until the end. Viewers will know that they aren't in real danger until they come together so there is no tension until the third act, and even then viewers know character deaths are unlikely.… Expand

This is not a bad movie...

The opening was magical, the middle part was a bit slow and dragged a bit, the end was okay but predictable. Then there is a really good epilogue. Yes, it has flaws but lets look at the positive side first. TheThis is not a bad movie...

Yes, it has flaws but lets look at the positive side first. The sound of this film is nicely done. There is a chase scene in this movie where you are invested completely... the sound pulls you in and all speakers fire on all cylinders. The music is cut out to deepen the action in the scene.

Then there are a few small jump scares here and there which i felt was a nice touch. The film also jumps to multiple locations.

The actors where also doing their part in giving it their best.
Old cast members return.
We also get to see NEW Dinos.

Now some negatives:

- I feel the Action was limited and there is a section in the movie where the movie comes to a slow crawl.
- Sadly, MUCH more could've been done with the story.
- 1 girl means everything in this film not the Dinos.
- We need to see More Dinos.
- There is always 1 bad guy running the show...

I feel a better director is needed for these films.

It's best to leave the Original film behind you and turn off your brain and simply enjoy this movie. I do in fact Recommend you watch this movie.

Oh my what a terrible movie. The world tries to be serious & grounded but we’re to believe humans & dinos can communicate. It was nice to see the original Jurassic Park crew hang out with the Jurassic World crew. The rest of this entire movie was a pointless slog. These dinos, we’ve seen them before and better. Some of the worst in this movie is in the casting. The villain is dressed up like Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, Inc. The thing about Tim Cook is that he is the breed of second generation CEOs that are not as controversial as the founding CEOs. All in all, a Tim Cook character makes for a boring villain.

Later in the movie, we meet a dinosaur smuggler who looks like a professional model. Despite riding in her old propeller plane and trading in dusty, desert markets, this smuggler always finds time to apply full makeup. Some of the dinosaur smugglers and scientists are also unbelievably pretty. Thousands of hours were spent making the dinosaurs look real, but mere minutes were spent trying to cast the right actors. The story itself goes from dumb to dumber. The move starts with a plague of giant Cretaceous locusts destroying crops around the midwest. This is supposed to be some kind of mystery, but these locusts are the size of a cat and farm groups would be up in arms over this type of devastation. (Never mind that these giant bugs would have trouble breathing in our lower oxygen environment.) Once again, the world is oblivious to an obvious threat and only small group of plucky heroes can save the day. The dinosaur fights have become stale. You can now watch a documentary on TV that has more realistic dinosaurs and dinosaur encounters. The dinosaurs all helpfully pause to roar before lunging at our plucky heroes. And of course no one seems to understand that dinosaurs are not bullet proof. (Jurassic World 4: Bullet Proof Dinos). I really could not stand how cliche this move is. From the mustache twirling villain to the dinosaur fights to the breakdown of the security that protects humans from dinosaurs. I hit fast forward through quite a bit of this middling effort. Writing matters. Details matter. A few Oscar winning actors will not save a movie. I hope this film series is now extinct.… Expand

Now for the reason that this is supposedly the last film - for a while at least- And because of the return of the three original lead actors, Jurassic World Dominion had elements that made it feel more exciting and yet they couldn't create a script that could live up to the hype, not even in terms of coherence, but in terms of epicness.

Jurassic World Dominion is a film that feels bloated, muddled, disoriented, and the saddest part of all, utterly empty.

There are nods to the original film, and with that the creators hope the audience will feel nostalgic and forget that they could have demanded a better story.

Jurassic World Dominion knows it's a show and that's the basis for all its gameplay, but it fails notoriously in the construction of a narrative.
It doesn't get any good thrills or an emotional closure and when I got to that ending, after so many years all I could think was ''Is that it?'' and unfortunately that sums up the whole disappointing experience.… Expand

Silly and un-necessary. I was rooting for the dinosauers this go round.

But even with that being said, my god, this movie fell so flat on its ass. Ima be real here, the movie wasn't terrible, it's watchable, and you can watch it again without feeling like your skin is peeling off. However, that doesn't change the fact that this movie was so mediocre. I'm only going to be focusing on the plot because the visuals are really good, but that's for like all the Jurassic World Movies, so it really doesn't matter. Now the plot itself has its bad moments. I think a perfect example is the oversized bugs. Why does this exist? Like really you could've made it anything else to even FIT the dinosaur storyline, but you chose bugs so they can rig the food system. How does this have to do anything with Jurassic World? This story plot itself takes down the movie so badly and puts a bad taste in your mouth. Everything else in the movie is alright, like stealing the young kid, which felt interesting for the most part, liked that they gave her more character, as I felt that was kind of lacking in the movie. Also, another problem I have with this movie is that it takes more of the approach of it being dinosaurs that are affected by humans, rather than the more interesting plot of dinosaurs affecting humans. Sure in the Fallen Kingdom they were released into the wild, but the movie did such a piss poor job of making them sound intense. Honestly, this movie felt like a massive slap in the face to people who loved the movies.… Expand

For a film that's been marketing itself as a "finale" doesn't seem like one. They opened it up for a sequel, and this will make mega bucks. The close practical effects for the dinosaurs were fantastic. The writing for main plot was not interesting at all due to building off from the last film, making the twist into a full fleshed story with lore ect.. then again these last 3 films were nothing but entertaining dinosaur movies. Great popcorn fun. If you're turned off by the plot then the dinosaur segments are worth the price of the admission alone. The original cast's characters were treated with respect following the trend of Ghostbusters, Maverick ect.. unlike Star Wars 7-9.. Sam, Laura, and Jeff all share scenes together and not one of them get ruined for the sake of shoving the new characters into their spotlight. The directors knew what the fans wanted when they casted the original actors. My rating is a 4/10. Not the best in the series but it is better than Lost World: Jurassic Park and Fallen Kingdom… Expand

It pains me to say it, but I was bored...I wanted it to be over and thats something I never thought I would feel watching a Jurassic Park/World movie. What happened here? I found this very sad because this is currently the only series thatIt pains me to say it, but I was bored...I wanted it to be over and thats something I never thought I would feel watching a Jurassic Park/World movie. What happened here? I found this very sad because this is currently the only series that portrays Dinosaurs in a somewhat of a realistic manner and they have managed to screw it up.

The original Jurassic Park was and still is, such a wonderful piece of entertainment because their creators understood that the hook of Dinosaurs is the fact that we know that they were real, they existed, they were animals on earth. And thus, they portrayed them as realistic as possible, like animals suddenly brought back from extinction. The fact that they looked and acted so real, made as all look at them in awe just like the characters in the movie were looking at them. That was the hook, and it was all tied up nicely with a simple story that would explain to us logically how it all came to be with characters that would complement all the questions with their own curiosity.

But now, Dinosaurs are taken from granted, so much so, that they are not even the main threat of the plot. I will say this...Despite liking the first Jurassic World, the moment they started to portray the Dinosaurs as characters (Like Blue the raptor), the moment they started to screw everything up. Like I said, this were animals and the interesting thing about them is that they were huge and probably dangerous given all their teeth...but when they start to characterize them or portray them as monsters (God, I hated those laser beam focused raptors) the moment you take away the sense of awe and respect that such creatures emanate.

This is a movie that is more focused on the action and the big set pieces than anything else and it looses all direction. Getting to see the old cast was fun and they do everything admirably well, but the fact that they are here and this turned out to be such a derailment from the original movie makes me feel kind of disgusted.

We all know that making Jurassic sequels is not easy, and that capturing the magic of the original is nearly impossible given that, that was the first one to ever show us the creatures with such detail...but this was not the way to go.

I could probably write more and more paragraphs detailing why the movie is such a miss, given how the story is incredibly contrived, some characters are awful stupid and basic (the main villain), some of the performances are not very good and the complete lack of tension within it despite being a movie where Dinosaurs try to eat people - yet, the biggest point I wanted to make was the complete lack of understanding of what made the original so compelling. It was, because it made us think and question "what if, what if this creatures really came back, what would that feel like?"...this movie doesn't do that, in fact Jurassic movies have long gone from trying to do that, and this is the one movie where it finally hit me to a point where I was completely disconnected from it. I really tried to like Dominion but it fell flat on its face. After 45 minutes I was already hoping it would be over soon. Dominion is a far cry from the Jurassic Parks that many of us grew up with. Dominion is a far cry from the Jurassic Parks that many of us grew up with. Owen and Claire’s relationship is awkward at best and Alan and Ellie’s relationship felt like fan service gone wrong. Dominion focuses on in-your-face action more than it’s predecessors which makes it feel more like a generic action movie. Unfortunately the subtle visuals and sounds used to create moments of dread in past films is missing completely. The massive dinosaur fights even felt identical to fights from the past 5 films.

Also, what’s up with everyone being able to hold off dinosaurs by holding up their hand? Owen was only able to do this with the raptor he raised from birth. It makes no sense that any other characters can suddenly make the dinosaurs obey them. This choice removes any sense of risk and danger as we know the protagonists can use this magic hand trick to deal with most smaller dinos. At one point we see a Velociraptor show up (one of the most terrifying creatures from past film) and I didn’t even feel worried for our protagonist because they can all take dinosaurs now. The only reason I’m not rating this lower is because the short scenes showing mosques adapting to our world were really interesting.

It’s truly disappointing to see so much wasted potential with the combination of the new and old cast.… Expand

And the ridiculous amount of close-ups on Bryce D H, is the director in love with her or what?! Jeebus. Anyway, such a disappointingly wasted opportunity.… Expand

I was pleasantly surprised. Its not a good movie. Its also not the worst one either. So go low expectations? The good? Most of the acting. Fun seeing high quality interesting CG dinosaurs. To the point I believe no-one attached to the script has even kept pets. Gone are the days of researching how animals behave and basing dinosaur behavior and scenes on that. In this film most of the dinosaurs acted like that third henchman in TV fight scenes. The one that stands back and looks menacing until it is their turn to one on one fight the hero. Because the plot says so. All the good guys had too much plot armor. Surviving a definitely fatal plane crash. Holding their hands up at times got dinosaurs (untrained) to back off. Not bite that off. The dinosaurs also had a sort of plot armor. The kind often offered to women in action films. Hero can't kill/maim dinosaur. Only a bad guy or other dinosaur is allowed to do that. Sure dinosaurs eats humans and this one is trying to eat our hero. But with all the plot armor neither side is taking damage from the fight. So many times! It took a lot of the excitement out of the film. Lead to several bizarre and less believable exchanges. There was fun and some nostalgia to be had. But not good overall.… Expand

Referencing is one thing, copy and pasting, well that is JJ Abrams patented, and his lawyers will probably be in touch. The real downfall is with the poor CGI that had to be covered by CGI environmental effects. This leaves you with a headache as you try to make out the dinos and makes you wonder what they were thinking? 5.5/10… Expand

JW Dominion was a bad exercise in nostalgia. The story is derivative of every other Jurrassic movie. You get your Brontosaur moment, the baby dino cute moment, the genetic manipulation, the 3 actors, the laughable Tyro ending fight, the TyroJW Dominion was a bad exercise in nostalgia. The story is derivative of every other Jurrassic movie. You get your Brontosaur moment, the baby dino cute moment, the genetic manipulation, the 3 actors, the laughable Tyro ending fight, the Tyro at the cinema, the spitter dyno, the Blue guy. Add to the mix an extraordinary bland Tim Cook villain, with not really poachers, not really kidnappers, not really terrorist, not really a scientist, not really a bad guy, not really a smuggler. You see a pattern here ? Apart this insulting story, the CGI are good. The action is acceptable but you also get a very slow beginning (almost 50 minutes of it). The music was recycled. The sounds didn't appeal to me and some were just plainly bad (dinosaur sounds). The acting was ok, maybe the redeeming factor, even with the villains disaster. I give the movie a 35%. And I think I should stop writing about it for ma own well being.… Expand

One thing that the Jurassic World franchise has done better and better is the visuals. Jurassic World Dominion has no doubt the best visuals and cinematography of all the films so far. There are also some pretty fun action sequences. For example, in Malta where dinosaurs are chasing Chris Pratt and Bryce throughout the city. The part in Malta also explores the black market of Dinosaurs and that was pretty interesting. One pretty annoying issue with the Jurassic World franchise is the lack of animatronics but Dominion uses a lot of animatronics. I appreciated it as it made the Dinosaurs feel a bit more real when they were being interacted with.

My biggest reason for watching was the OG cast and it was great seeing all of them together again. Laura Dern and Sam Neill are great together as Ellie Satler and Alan Grant respectively. Both of them don't phone it in and it feels like the same characters we last saw 21 years ago. My favourite is Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm and he just steals every scene he is in. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard also return and they are fine. The movie introduces some new characters and one of them is Kayla played by DeWanda Wise. DeWanda is great and a real standout in the film thanks to her charismatic performance. Kayla ends up being a fun character to watch thanks to her coolness and natural reaction to all the craziness happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the movie is very difficult to like. My biggest annoyance is the plot. There are two plot lines, one with Chris Pratt involving a kidnapping of Maisie (the clone daughter from the previous film) and another with the OG cast which just features them snooping around a big corporation. One of the plotlines is more exciting and interesting while also resulting in thrilling dinosaur action. The OG cast plotline is just so boring, goofy and just dumb. It's a shame that the OG cast was done dirty like that. The movie feels like two different movies shoved into one leading to two different stories with different tones. The main story also features this plot device concerning locusts and it's just really stupid. The movie also features a sort of new human villain in Dodgson played by Campbell Scott. I say sort of new because he is technically playing the same character that was briefly in the first Jurassic Park film albeit it's a different actor now. He is just a very underwhelming villain. He is just not that interesting or threatening. They also have a new dinosaur villain in the Giganotosaurus and it also sucks. It barely has any screen time and is not even as scary as any of the previous dinosaur villains. There is also another new character introduced called Ramsay played by Mamoudou Athie who I think does a good job in the role. What makes his character is his supposed relationship with Dodgson which is mentioned a couple of times. However, it is barely explored yet for some reason is put into the film like it is an emotional or important element and it was just baffling.

Maisie returns from the previous film and has become incredibly unlikeable. I'm not a big fan of bratty kid characters, especially ones that cause the deaths of dozens of innocent people. Her character is written poorly and I do think the actress gives a pretty weak performance which doesn't help. The movie is also way too long with its runtime being 146 minutes. A majority of the runtime is just boring human stuff with maybe 15-20 minutes of some dinosaur stuff. The original Jurassic Park cast and the new Jurassic World cast don't even meet until the final act. Once they meet, it feels very anti-climatic and unnatural, it just sort of happens. I'm gutted that the movie wastes an interesting idea in exploring the consequences of dinosaurs being released into the world and how the world deals with it. Instead, this idea is just brushed over within the first 5 minutes. The film doesn't do anything original and just does dinosaurs on an island again! The movie doesn't even spend time dealing with the message that the film starts with which is can humans and dinosaurs coexist? The film just ends with this magically being answered and resolved with no explanation how?

Overall, what a massive disappointment. While I didn't particularly enjoy Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), the movie ends on a fascinating note that could've made for an amazing 3rd film. Regrettably, Jurassic World Dominion ends up being more interested in being a cheap, cheesy, B movie action thrill and even then it doesn't do that great either. I'm devastated that the so-called Avengers of the Jurassic franchise is just a very mediocre and underwhelming dinosaur movie. I ended up feeling like it was time for this franchise to go extinct. As Ian once said, "that's one big pile of s#*%".… Expand

The times someone is saved at the last second it's way too much, boring, too long movie, CGI is good but thats it. Plot points leading nowhere and too many nostalgia pandering, references are nice, but this is way too much (even the shave spray can for hiding stolen DNA is here lol !? it was lost in mud in the first movie), you have to turn you brain off, disappointing. Was nice to see the original cast, but the story is just lacking...

I wanted to like this movie so much but it was just... bad. I walked out.

Overall I don't think it was any of the actors faults, script was just ass and movie was badly directed.

I made it about 3 minutes into the film before I absolutely had to shut it off. Not only does nothing in the intro make any sense at all, but it doesn't even coincide with the ending of the last film.

- Like 12 dinosaurs ran off from the mansion, not hundreds, not even half that. Do writers even understand how animal populations work? Fictional or not, if you lack enough breedable male or females in a species- they die off! You can't reproduce from a handful of dinosaurs, they'd be inbreeding a few generations later.
- Literally no one on the planet would just let Dinosaurs somehow leave the mainland of one continent. Its completely ridiculous. How did the Dinosaurs spread from Asia to Australia? Did they build a boat? Its atrociously stupid writing.
- Who in their right mind would just "live with" the dinosaurs as if they weren't a constant threat to civilian populations? They mention some off-the-cuff line about "most" of the predators being caught, but that doesn't mean huge animals wouldn't disrupt highways, public transportation, or worse- destroy the environment for other animals, causing numerous other problems that would require intervention.

If Dinosaurs just accidently "oopsy whoopsy" existed and ran amok then the military would totally hunt them down. Remember what happened whenever a large Elephant escaped a circus? Yeah, its like that only with more teeth and higher caliber bullets. Worst Jurassic park movie I've ever seen in my life and that is saying A LOT after sitting through "Lost world." Glad I didn't pay a dime to see the last two.… Expand

Oh boy, this entry in the series is not good. It looks absolutely amazing, I have never seen so detailed creature effects, the landscapes are stunning, the cinematography is extremely good, the sound effects are awesome. But that is just theOh boy, this entry in the series is not good. Predictable everything, with more of the same brainwashing woke (all bad characters are white; blacks are good and smart scientists, top pilots, CIA agents, etc.). Perhaps watchable for dinosaur action, though I couldn't finish it.

Yikes, this was hard to watch. The original Jurrasic Park was a bunch of really well-defined characters that we learned to care about being stuck in a horrible situation. Without a protagonist or moment in the story where I could get to know and like the characters, it's really hard to give a %#$@ if someone is about to die. When I walked out of the theater I said it was like Star Wars Episode 1 was made for Jurrasic Park, that bad. There were some well-done moments that were good nods to the original but the story was an absolute mess. There was absolutely no protagonist, no attempt to help guide the viewer through the story. The character development was absolutely terrible, there were plot holes you could park an aircraft carrier inside, and so many moments that I wondered if they were even attempting to have a believable story. If I was 8 I am sure that I would have been very excited about the poorly CGI'ed dinosaur scenes but unfortunately, I am an adult who actually saw the first movie and this is a very poor way to end such an iconic story line, with a script that should have been a first-round draft.… Expand

I grew up a massive fan of the entire Jurassic franchise. With the World series, I let some flaws not impact my joy of them because I believe in the final film we were promised. It did not deliver.
