This is, quite simply, the worst movie I have ever seen in a theater. The writing is so unbelievablyThis is, quite simply, the worst movie I have ever seen in a theater. No exaggeration, no hyperbole, this is literally the worst thing my eyes have ever been forced to watch in all its unholy non-glory. The writing is so unbelievably terrible, and the "acting" is even worse. First of all, Nic Cage is at his finest - and by finest, I mean he takes things way the hell over the top. Not emotionally, no, that would actually be kind of cool; he goes his usual over the top weirdness. To make matters worse, even when Cage is nowhere to be seen and it's the (surprisingly awesome) CGI, it gets even stranger and yet far, far lamer somehow. The highlights of Ghost Rider's evil-fighting spree include pissing fire and instead of giving people the penance stare he, I kid you not, just sort of picks them up by the throat and waggles his head back and forth in front of them for several seconds at a time. No pain, no soul-burning, no evil-slaying, he just kind of stares at them like he's trying to seduce them with his flaming eye sockets.

The writing is the worst of it though. In addition to said fire-pee and lame soul-staring, they spend the entire movie building up how much he hates the power and wants to be rid of it (despite the fact that he declared his eternal vigilance at the end of the first movie), and then immediately after he gets rid of it, he has to get his powers back because - surprise surprise - bad stuff happens when the hero stops being a hero. I know this is the formula for every superhero movie's sequel, but come on guys; there was no emotion, no build up, no nothing. At least nothing that didn't feel like the writers were shoving the characters along down their poorly written paths for no apparent reason. He goes from accepting his fate and taking vengeance on the devil to a whiny, non-emotional yet somehow over-emotional wreck who wants nothing more than to cast his badassery away, to once again donning the mantle of Ghost Rider in the span of an hour and a half movie with no real reasons ever given for ANY of his emotions.

The backup cast also brings little, if indeed anything, to the show. The characters are poorly introduced - if they even get much of an introduction at all - and most if not all of them seem incredibly lame. The entire monk society that has been protecting the vessel for a demon's eventual return to keep said return from happening is pretty much worthless at doing their jobs the second Ghost Rider becomes involved, the demon that is returning is "too weak because he's so far from hell without a proper vessel", and the rest of the enemies are pretty much normal humans, with a few exceptions later in the movie. And despite this meaning that Ghost Rider is basically the only supernatural creature... he still completely fails to come off as a badass. At least the first movie made it clear that the Ghost Rider was not to be trifled with by anyone, even the (admittedly lame) Devil himself.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance was the first, and I pray only, movie I have ever wanted to walk out on in the middle of the showing. Had I not been on a date it would've surely been the first that I actually did. And to think I wondered why Stan Lee never made a cameo.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is a terrible film. Direction is horrible, the script is terrible, and the story is basically pointless. Do not see this if you were a fan of the first, this movie just makes Ghost Rider look worse.

The only cool things are: the character design, and... no, that's it. Maybe some action, maybe. The cast is poor, but the worst is the direction. How can anyone think this is a good movie? Each to his own, but I've just one more thing to say: poor Ghost Rider. Expand

The story was stupid and lacked all understanding at all. I only cared for Ghost Rider himself, when Nicholas Cage wasn't Johnny Blaze and when he was Ghost Rider, he was off the chains crazy in a kick ass way. Expand

A bit of a nerf from its previous installment. If you enjoyed Ghost Rider which I know most of you didn't, you'll probably either love this or hate it.

Creo que hoy en día amo esta película porque Disney volvió a tener los derechos después de esta atrocidad. Es tan poco memorable que ya me la olvide toda.

His bike is also actually the exact same as in the first one and there were really good fight scenes also unlike the first one. I still wouldn't give this a 10/10 but it is definitely worthy of a 7. Even though the action scenes are well directed and original; I loved the way The Rider could control other vehicles and ignite them with Hellfire - awesome shots. However, it's the direction in the rest of the film which lets it down, drastically. In particular, Nicholas Cage as Blaze. Though I'm a fan of Cage, here he gives a lacklustre and lazy performance adding nothing to the character... in fact, it actually subtracts from it. Only worth a watch on a dull and boring day - and only then if you're a "Ghost Rider" fan. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie is HORRIBLE and EXTREMELY BORING. I usually end up falling asleep while watching Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. It's almost impossible for me not to fall asleep while watching Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. This film has the worst cinematography ever. The cinematography is so horrendous that it's impossible for me to fully enjoy the action sequences in this film. This movie looks ugly. The cinematography is hideous. The camerawork is horrible, shaky, and gimmicky. The plot is terrible. Nicolas Cage's acting is awful in this movie. In an interrogation scene, his acting was so over-the-top that it was hilarious. There is even a scene of Ghost Rider pissing fire which is just plain stupid. This sequel is so much worse than the first Ghost Rider film. The first Ghost Rider film was at least an enjoyable guilty pleasure, but Spirit of Vengeance is just a snooze-fest. Expand

Not any where close to being as good as the first. At least it still has Nicholas Cage. He's the only one from part one in this movie. It's just an ok movie.

And the way it began I was even convinced that it's gonna be better. Turns out this one is even worse.

You gotta give them this one - the CGI flame on Ghost Rider now looks a lot more believable. But the VFX of anything else is terrible. Occasionally the movie uses weird emboss and black-and-white effect as if it's a Bollywood movie. It seemed as though the editors had just got After Effects and they wanted to add every effect they could find.

The story has no connection with the first film whatsoever. They even get the recap wrong! It shows that Johnny fell to the Devil's feet and cut his finger intentionally to sign the contract, while in reality the Devil had come to his tent when he was repairing his bike, and his finger accidentally got cut and the blood fell on the contract. The setting also doesn't make any sense. Johnny moved to Middle East because he didn't want to hurt anyone. But that's literally what he does there also. And in spite of being set in Middle East they don't show anything related to Middle East throughout the movie.

The acting continues to hold the same momentum as the prequel, by which I mean the same campy overacting. At least this time Johnny doesn't point at people and say "You!". Instead in the end he said "Hell yes." after pushing the Devil back in hell.

I'm really grateful that this series didn't have a third movie. Ghost Rider needs to be a grim, gritty movie with a lot of violence and heavy metal music, not this campy film series. Because no matter what you say, I can never take Nicolas Cage seriously. He's a fusion of Govinda and Uday Chopra. And I can't consider that to be the demon hunting Ghost Rider.

A pretty poor plot, with the impression that they were only attempting to pass the time. Create the illusion that pupils shot a homemade movie as a graduation project.
