The performances were great (aside from thor) and I especially loved what they did with Hawkeye (give us a solo netflix series plz). It just saddens me that all the potential was wasted.

They were the ones that gathered the characters in a room and pitted them against each other, the inevitable war of the worlds delayed in favor of a much more entertaining war of words. This was the doing of Joss Whedon, god among geeks, hired by Marvel to pump some humor and life into the studio’s franchise-building strategy. What the writer-director saw in the plum gig, beyond presumed bags of money, was a chance to adopt another of his dysfunctional surrogate families. He treated the iconic characters, loaned out to him for a couple of expensive hours, like neurotic people, trading as many barbs as blows. The result was a summer event movie that felt playful and idiosyncratic, even as it skillfully delivered on its mandate to be just one part of a larger whole.

But Whedon, a true believer in the pleasures of comic-book storytelling, is no miracle worker. In Avengers: Age Of Ultron, his busy return engagement to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the strain of multitasking begins to show. Even at two and a half hours, this jam-packed sequel has little room for the kind of chatty downtime—the “off” moments Whedon excels at—that distinguished its predecessor. The film doesn’t just reassemble the all-star ranks, cramming sardonic billionaire Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), unfrozen super soldier Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), thunder god Thor (Chris Hemsworth), reformed assassin Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), flinty marksman Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and occasional giant green monster Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) back into the frame together. It also feeds supporting players, borrowed from Marvel’s various solo outings, into the franchise hub, while devoting additional screen time to the appearance of brand new characters. There’s so much ground to cover here—so many introductions to make, so much story to churn through, so many gargantuan set pieces to mount—that the movie never really finds room to breathe.

Whedon, quick as ever with the quips, hits the ground running: The film opens in medias res, taking a page from the James Bond series by dropping us into an Avengers mission already in progress. Storming the castle of Hydra’s last remaining heavy, the good guys emerge with some enticing spoils, among them the unexpected key to artificial intelligence. Stark, it would seem, is obsessed with the idea of creating “a suit of armor around the world”—a kind of automated peacekeeping program that would allow him and his crime-fighting colleagues to take an indefinite vacation. The film underdramatizes the character’s weariness, but no matter; from his utopian retirement plan comes the titular villain, a disturbed robot whose plan for world peace is considerably more genocidal than his creator would prefer. If there are no more people, there are no more wars.

Ultron, with his muscular metallic frame and expressive alien features, certainly looks cool. The film conceives of him as a kind of mad machine, his glitches manifesting as homicidal insecurities, and he’s been voiced—quite recognizably, despite the robotic filter—by James Spader, who sinks his teeth into Whedon’s venomous dialogue. If Ultron’s never quite as menacing as one might hope, it’s possibly because the writer-director also wants him to be a force of dark comedy, firing zingers nearly as relentlessly as his flyboy “father.” He’s more interesting, nonetheless, than the other villains: “miracle” twins The Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), divorced of their mutant backstory from the comics. Olsen’s telepath, whose powers are numerous and a little vague, invades the headspace of our heroes; a less overstuffed film might have treated these mind games more abstractly, rather than simply sending Cap and company through Nightmare On Elm Street versions of their origin stories. As for speed demon Quicksilver, he has his moments, but none as remotely fun as what Bryan Singer did with the same character in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. The film could use any sequence as joyful as that movie’s “Time In A Bottle.”

Age Of Ultron leaps across the globe, as the Avengers hunt Ultron from New York City to Africa to Eastern Europe. Each new location is a demolition derby, a model city to be leveled during another frantic set piece. Whedon gets the elastic physical reality of comic books, and he knows how to frame a shot—like a late overhead image of the characters, arranged in a circle, attacking in every direction—as though it were a splash panel come to life.

It would've made quite the differenceWhile most certainly not failing to live up to it's predecessor in the realm of action in terms of both quantity and quality, this film does fail to deliver on the same "wow" factor of the first movie. It would've made quite the difference (for the better) to have a previously developed hero join the team for this bout at saving the world as it was, just a small tad, dull to watch the same heroes with a couple of newcomers, only just now developed in this film fight it out against another sinister villain. Who, by the way is portrayed brilliantly by actor James Spader. The rest of the cast also does an amazing job playing their respective characters. The extended development of this film's supporting characters, especially Hawkeye and Maria Hill was also very well done and welcomed with open arms. While it is lacking in any real twists in the story, it was an interesting premise with acceptable pacing. Expand

It was better than the first Avengers but it turned out to be a bit boring and overdrawn at times but overall I would say it was a good movie. Like I said, I felt there was too much going on with the plot but it was not enough to keep the non-hardcore Marvel fans interested. I felt "Age of Ultron" was kind of a misleading title as it was made to believe that Ultron was supposed to be this ultra convincing villain though I felt that Ultron was somewhat misused and was half as powerful as the Ultron that was in the comics. Overall, good movie with good performances from the main cast but ultimately it suffers from a long, and exhausting plot and a rather unconvincing or at least I thought so, Ultron. There was some lazy film making at the hands of Marvel here but Civil War should hopefully rebound the MCU nicely. Expand

The last 50 minutes are quite a lot better, though, with great action and excitement on display. Nonetheless, the flaws found all over the first hour 20 are still found in this portion of the film; ranging from a bad script, to an uninteresting story, ponderous acting and pointless branching to the wider Marvel universe — with the film’s length far too long. It’s not completely rubbish, but…

Just stick with Avengers Assemble.

Responsibilty lies mostly with Joss Whedon and his desperately poor story but there's blame elsewhere . Tony Stark is just irritating as hell. RDJ needs to give this **** up ASAP as he's becoming a tired joke. He's not charismatic, he's just smarmy and unfunny. You know something's wrong when you enjoy seeing the hero of a movie getting beat up. Black Widow is as vacuous as always - only change was her haircut which made her look plain. Nice work. To be fair, Thor, Banner and Captain America are fun to watch as always. The same can't be said of Ultron who is probably the weakest of all Marvel's weak villains. Badly designed and badly written, it must be said that James Spader does the best with the awful material he's been given.. And of course, as with ALL Marvel films, lots and lots and lots of horrible CGI action with horrible tracking camera shots that are aimed at providing FIST PUMP moments but fail miserably. Expand

Still, if movies are made for entertaining people, then this definitiely was entertaining and fun to watch. If you want something more complicated and with a complex story, then I suggest something else though. It did have some flaws and weird plot points, but I am giving it a rating of 7, because you can't expect anything complex and with plot twists out of a superhero blockbuster movie - this is a movie that many people go to cinemas to watch on big screen because it has many explosions, action etc. If you make the story complex etc, you'll disappoint those who expect the usual thing, so I guess they just don't want to risk changing anything. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Cheesy dialogue, terrible script, terrible plot... This film was a complete waste of talent for everyone involved. Avengers: Age of Ultron leaves a sour taste in the mouth of anyone who expects a good movie. The first film was far from perfect, but this was awful. How on earth anyone can give this above a 4, I have no idea - Because it is a genuinely bad film.

So, the second outing of the Avengers forces them into battle against Ultron, an artificial intelligence created by Tony Stark (apparently, no matter what the comics say) to save the world. And in a boring, predictable plot "twist", Ultron realises that humanity and the Avengers are the problem, so decides to try to kill everyone.

The opening scene has the team trying to attack a Hydra base... for some reason. And SHIELD has been shut down... for some reason. Because Marvel doesn't care about those who don't want to spend hours watching one of the worst shows on television right now. So yes, to fully understand the film you need to watch Marvel: Agents of SHIELD, which I don't advise at all.

Most of the time, plot and script coherence is sacrificed for jokes which will appeal to no one over the age of fifteen. Because apparently a psychopathic AI who wants to wipe out mankind isn't serious, for some reason? Add that to the completely forced, on-screen romance between Black Widow and Banner - despite the fact they have no chemistry whatsoever, and you have hardly got the makings for a good film.

Do you know what else doesn't make a good film? Plot holes. And, like every Marvel film before it, it's riddled with them. Thor, for example, decides to leave after being shown a vision (based upon fear) by Scarlet Witch. Because "someone who can control minds put you into a vision based upon your fears" wasn't a good enough explanation? So he decided to take Selvig and go to a mystical pond or other. Why? It's never explained. What is this mystical pond you speak of? Never explained. Where is this mystical pond? Never explained. What does this mystical pond do? Oh, that's easy to answer. It sets up another Marvel film. It has no other purpose.

Now, let's talk about The Vision. Ultron finds "the mind stone" and decides to build himself a human-like body made of vibranium. Well, it has vibranium pieces every now and then. But the team manages to take said body from Ultron, and Stark and Banner upload Jarvis' personality matrix into it. But they're interrupted, then Thor returns from his quick dip in the mystical pond and shocks its pod, bringing it to life. And what you have is another god-like being to join the already unbeatable team! He can fly, and shoot rays out of his eyes, and apparently seal AI's out of the internet. And that's all you know. But he is a completely ridiculous character, and seemingly indestructible. The only time you see him take any damage at all is when he manages to fall unconscious after disconnecting Ultron... for some reason. In fact, you rarely see any of the heroes getting hurt... at all.

Which brings me on to the final battle. The Avengers team versus an army of thousands. Sound familiar? Yep. That's because it's just the same as the final battle in the first film. The antagonist caught in a monologue, and the Hulk beats the **** out of them. Sounds familiar? Yep. Same as the first film.

Age of Ultron lacks any suspense, and you never wonder whether or not the team will win. Even in the first film, you had a few scenes where it looked like the enemies were gaining the upper hand. But not in this one. The protagonists (during what little time you spend with each) are always shown effortlessly destroying hordes of enemies. Your heroes are all powerful and unbeatable, Marvel. I get it already. You don't need to make another film just to show us that. But how do you expect it to be interesting when you know the heroes are going to win?

These films just have too many characters. You have no character development at all. But this film has decided to add in more characters... for some reason. The tactic makes no sense, especially when the previous film had too many characters too. This film is a mind-numbing disappointment, and the fact it has got so many positive reviews just shows some people have no idea what makes a good film any more.

This particular installment was the most CG action porn I've seen in quite some time. It was just so obvious that so much of this was done at green-screen, I'm not really sure the stars earned their pay! Seriously, I think all they had to do was run, jump, and roll a few times while the CG artists created all the mayhem around them. They're the ones that should be walking away with millions. My other complaint is just with the DNA of the franchise itself, all the snarky remarks from Stark, and the little bits and quips from the others just cheapens the gravity of the situation. Similarly, with the need to save/evacuate that whole city. Is there something in the comic book domain that says the Innocent Public must be preserved at all costs?! This may have been laudable in the '40s/'50s but in this Age of Terrorism we KNOW this to be different and it just wreaks of quaint naivety which again cheapens the overall experience. There's plenty of trademark humor and spectacle and while Marvel may not have been able to reignite the spark of 2012's 'Avengers' exactly, it operates as an acceptable jump off point for their third phase of movies. The highlights of these movies seem to be when the Avengers fight each other, which I hope they start to stray away from in future Avengers movies and focus on the villains. A mindless summer action movie, lots of fighting and special effects. The character I enjoyed the most was the "bad" guy. The subplot, that we can be our own worst enemy, wasn't addressed enough.

(For anyone who thought this movie was better than the first one I suggest you stop reading now as I'm likely to offend). A film with such promise, such good character development by some, how it managed to become an utter mess of explosions and robots is beyond me. Looks like they used Man of Steel as a reference point for the fight scenes and destruction of the entire city. The interaction between the characters was one of the better things in the movie but was hindered by the overwhelming amount of people. James Spader was a spot on choice, if there's one thing the Avenger films get right is the choice of villain. Definitely worth a watch but I never want to see it again. Expand

This is an alright movie as movies go. It is pretty good as Marvel movies go. I have heard grumbling, but it’s mostly nerds talking about things that can’t possibly matter or people looking to pick a fight with some low-hanging fruit. Mostly what was disappointing was that the real conflict was the same as the first Avengers movie (will the Avengers assemble? Answer: yes) which was a letdown because the opening makes it seem like the writers have finally moved on and that we can stop rehashing the plotline that is already destined for rehashing in Civil War. For a moment Whedon makes it seem like this tired emotional territory will be made anew by Hawkeye stepping forward as the hearth of the team but then he just remains in the role of underutilized acting talent while the camera lingers on him without explanation. Also, remember when Tony Stark died for a second in the first Avengers and even though you knew his contract said he had to be fine you still cared because it completed the only interesting character arc in the Marvel movies wherein a guy with no real powers and crippling narcissism changes from being a person to a Jesus? Verily he has risen, which is fine because there’s a whole other sequel where the event leaves him psychologically damaged and he must continue to evolve. You will not have that experience watching anyone die or not die in this movie. Expand

Film is a visual medium, and while I don't necessarily think that the newest installment of the Avengers franchise was a visually interesting film, it was a visually exciting film. And for that, it earned three points.
As far as story, character development, writing, direction and virtually any other element you might grade a movie on, Avengers is a monumental failure. Let's start with the villain: the element that, in my opinion, makes or breaks a superhero film.
James Spader voices "Ultron," a sentient robot with the intellect of Einstein and the jokes Carrot Top. He's the brainchild of Tony Stark (who, similarly, has the intellect of Einstein and the jokes of Carrot Top,) and has come to rebel against his creator and wipe out the human race. Why? Well, he was programmed to protect the world, and he's going to do so by....killing everyone? Look, I'll be honest, I kind of checked out during this explanation. The point you need to take away from this is that Ultron is a poorly conceived, non-scary, bad joke machine.
As for the Avengers themselves? Well they're as self righteous and blandly Americana as ever....

Look, I'm going to cut this review short. Here's the deal: fanboys are going to love this movie because they evidently have no taste in film, or, their blind devotion to some integral part of their childhood is masking them to the fact that this was a 2 hour plus, morality spewing quip-fest. If you like good film you already know to stay away from this dumpster of a movie. I thought the nerd in me would redeem this flick (and, to be honest, there was nothing going on TV that night,) but I realized that I like good movies more than I like superheroes.

Avengers:Age of Ultron is one of the final movies in marvel phase 2 and while not as great as the first one, this movie is still very good.
The action in this movie is truly spectacular and the visual effects are really good and believable throughout. This movie is filled with fighting sequences from the very beginning until the end.And I love all of them especially the end battle where the stakes are really high and a few emotional moments.
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are some of the new additions and they are very awesome and well done.I honestly thought that Quicksilver is not going to be good after what I saw on X-Men DOFP but he is great here too,and so is the actor who portrays him.
I love the group talks, seeing them get mad at each other and hating/loving is just so much fun and interesting. Also this movie is filled with laughs and comedic moments everywhere, which I truly appreciate.
As about the main villain,Ultron,in my opinion,he was very well done.I really liked him,and his sarcastic jokes.which I found funny every single time.He is mesmerizing and not forgettable at all.His intentions very understandable and the only problem with him was his creation, which felt rushed but besides that he is a very good villain.
There are some things that don't quiet work here, and other things that they did which just feel like they are setting up for the next movies to come in the marvel universe, but these are small flaws and passable ones because this movie overall is very well done and interesting until the very end.

No real spoilers here but some hints.

I’ll start by saying I did not walk out of the theater with that overwhelming awe-buzz. Honestly though, that is as much about Marvel expectations than the lack of greatness shown on the screen. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll watch anything Marvel makes till the cows come home, they are that good. But let’s face it, we are getting two to three comic-based movies a year, so the novelty is gone and it’s all about the raw film making and acting. Which remains very high in this film, by the way.

On that note, Marvel continue to impress with great dialog, situational comedy, solid action with quality effects. Not to mention lovable characters that are well-defined and deeply developed.

Considering the source of the antagonist in this film, they created a deliciously diabolical character that we can almost feel. Since Marvel has already vetted the core group of protagonists they were at liberty to add a few new ‘Avengers’ in this film without making it feel crowded.

I felt like they advanced the Scarlet Witch too quickly, however. She starts off as a mind manipulator “not ready” for action and allied with the “bad guys”. By the end of the movie she has become a fully evolved and powerful character as well as a member of the Avengers. That transformation from naive frightened girl discovering her power to the energy wielding juggernaut happens a tad too fast.

The Tony Stark character continues to impress and Robert Downey Jr. shows us the darker side of his obsessive behavior. Tony is a good guy that is in desperate need of a moral compass. Good thing the Cap is an Avenger :) With each new movie Scarlett Johannsen continues to impress with a deep character portrayal of Black Widow.

Marvel also continues to bring the whole marvel Universe together with these films. There are tie ins with Marvel’s Agents of Shield on ABC TV, The previous movies including other franchises like the X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy. The whole Marvel Universe is a big connected family and they continue to merge and blend them to keep this wonderful continuity going.

This movie is extremely well done and though I don’t walk out of the theater with that crazy buzz, I think that is a real testament to just how good Marvel is. I have come to expect ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ every time I see a Marvel movie. The expectation is greatness and so when all they deliver is the usual greatness, the buzz isn’t there. It’s like I am Andy Capp and my booze is Marvel Movies, no matter how much I drink I just can’t get lit on it anymore. Don’t for one second think that isn’t a good thing. Marvel just cranks out good movies like Peyton Manning throws touchdown passes; it’s just another day at the office.

I gotta give this movie a solid 4 stars, I know it’s getting old passing out A grades every time Stan Lee touches something, but what am gonna do? It’s good stuff.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Even though this movie is long, 141 minutes, it feels short and cut. I would have rather watched a longer version of the film, a lot of people have hinted at a directors cut that will probably not be released. The reason behind this are the individual scenes and interactions, especially at the party at the Avengers Tower. I would have loved to have seen a more coherent interaction of the characters.
The movie is a solid action film.
The biggest missed opportunity in this film was Ultron. He wasn't menacing, he was based on Tony Stark, i.e. the humour. This humour wasn't intimidating, instead it made one warm up to the character and feel comfortable with his evil plans. I believe that making a extremely cold Ultron would have truly made this movie epic. An Ultron that really scares The Avengers.
Sad to see Joss Whedon leaving the MCU.

This Avengers sequel was fine, but it is not what I expected in some things, let's begin:
1. First, and I think is one of the worst, the Incomprehensible romance between Bruce and Black Widow, I mean come on, it came up out of nowhere, Why? When??? Black Widow had a few possible romances first, with Hawkeye (which after this, we know it was just a friendship) then with Captain America (this one was really what i thought that could have worked, but, no) And, finally with Mr. Anger, but after all it finished like all the rest. After all this false romances we just lose hope, so that makes me think that this one just was another.
2. Second, this one could be the worst (or close), the ridiculous humor. Recently Marvel movies are known for its hilarious funny little situations, and by put it all together, jokes, action, drama, unpredictability, all in one, that was what made the first Avengers movie so much memorable, but in this sequel it has non of it, at the point of being mostly ridiculous or even sometimes unfunny (sometimes the jokes are funny), but all the "all in one" situations of the first movie (mostly or as good), you will not find them here.
3. The gooffy, Disney villain version of Ultron, this one did disappoint me, Ultron wasn't intimidating or scary like we have come to expect. It's true, Ultron was not dark, even if "dark" is the definition of Ultron itself. It was almost all the time, a gooffy, not worthy villain. And it wasn't the macabre, DARK foe that made life impossible to the Avengers.
4. The story has many holes. We already talk about the worthless relationship of Hulk and Black Widow, or the not fare adaptation of Ultron. But despite that, the story still have many holes, like the poorly limited time of Ultron on screen or the fast moving of the movie that leave us sometimes confused. But probably the worst thing was the fact that a brand-new avenger just died, it leaved me in shock (by the way, the death of quicksilver wasn't so touching, it was cute and sad, but the reaction that I had was being very confused, I mean, he just came here, and he dies?. another thing that bothered me was the post credits scene, it "literally" remakes the scene of the first movie, Marvel also is known for its exciting post credits scene that leaves us with emotion and waiting the next movie. This post credits scene is too short and it just leaves me waiting more.
5. This sequel do not live up to its hype. Really, the trailer was just amazing and exciting, but the movie is not even close. What truly disappointed me was that the trailer seems so epic, I though that it could even be better than the first, mostly because it gave the impression of being a serious movie, by an intimidating Ultron, real human drama, suspense, we all waited that sooner or later it will be a point that the movies will became serious and melodramatic, the trailer said that, but you all know the result. I think that Age of Ultron recycles its predecessor epicness to give a remake of the first movie, but better, and it isn't.

Let's face it, the movie wasn't bad, it was undeniably entertaining, but as a true fan of Marvel's movies this sequel of the avengers wasn't what I waited with so much emotion. Once again the movie was not bad at all, its special effects are amazing and some action scenes are awesome as well, and the performances are undeniably good (by the way, James Spader gave a remarkable voice acting, what I didn't like was the interpretation of Ultron itself) But after all, the movie has many holes, but I have to say that it is in many ways a satisfyingly sequel.

Changing the subject, I give all my hopes in Civil War, that is one of the most EPIC comics and after The Winter Soldier, I hope an excellent movie like it. Don't you???

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This will be quite a quick review, and I am going to mark it as containing spoilers.

Where it is awesome and interesting to see our favorite team of heroes back on the big screen, and in action, but here's where it falters. Ultron is not a threat at all. He is about as powerful as paper. The Avengers just rip through him with absolute ease. Also The Vision is just shoe horned in right at the end. They just seen to try and tell to many different stories, which make sense as there are so many of them in the film, but the way it's executed, it takes away from the entire experience. An example of this is the Black Widow and Bruce Banner romance, which just comes out of the blue, and just makes you think "who actually cares?" One last thing I really did not like were the casting choices for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Scarlet's costume wasn't even close to anything that she would possibly wear, neither of the actor's really look the part, and my gosh they really do not sound the part either.

It just seems like a stepping stone for other films in the franchise. I can already tell the Civil War film is going to be as big of a failure. One redeeming factor of the film is when Scarlet Witch uses her mind powers on Black Widow, and it uncovers her back story and how she became a spy. Other than that, this stepping stone in the Marvel Universe is slowly pointing to the demise and problems that are soon to come to the MCU unfortunately.

As much as I am an Avenger's Fan I was a bit taken aback. The concept is interesting, the action is breath taking, yet I continuously feel I missed something and that feeling was there till the end.
The fellow mates of Tony Stark appear to be lost and unless someone wrangles them up for some action they appear more than misplaced at times.
The usual cohesion and teamwork of the cast that made Marvel so phenomenal just isn't there.
James Spader as a 'robot' just didn't do it for me. I am sorry. (and I love James Spader)
I am sure Marvel could have come up with a better story and if this movie is not the preparation for the next one, I could surmise that we all seen Marvel's prime time and expect more nose dives in the future.
Yet, I keep my hopes up high and consider this one a small forgivable error (or misstep) and wait impatiently for the next spectacle.

Despite this, it's yet another undeniably entertaining ride. The formula is starting to wear thin now (another flying thing climax!) and Marvel really need to make a change. The writing is unimpressive but does keep the characters likeable, but that may be due to the great acting from the whole cast. Ultron is a great villain but is never developed enough, so he never reaches his full potential. The action can be great but just feels like any blockbuster out there, and never fully exceeds them in that department.

Overall a complete let down on the film, that is sure to go down in score after the hype has died down. Still has some good moments that do bring the score up, but is so uneven that the highest score I can give this film is a 6.

Stark has created the Ultron programme which becomes sentient and threatens to destroy the world in a plot that is generally quite hard to follow. Unless you are a Marvel geek most of the plot is fairly unintelligible, the fun for the casual viewer is the character interplay and the big set pieces, both of which deliver in spades. However, so much of the plot is the setting up of future films that confusion soon prevails and it all becomes a little tiring, with the standard finale of a city being blown apart in an orgy of special effects. It's still hugely entertaining but you can't help feeling that the formula is getting a little tired and some fresh blood may be needed Expand

Everything this movie does was either done better in the first movie or it mostly didn't work at all. The romance between Dr. Banner and Black Widow is so unnecessary that it causes a notable sigh with audiences. Ultron himself is an uninteresting villain. Which that has more to do with the fact that he's an uninspired version of Tony Stark. And while I will say that the story is miss-narration from time to time, but it isn't too hard to follow.

However, the movie itself is fun to watch and does have some things to offer. The scene about Thor's Hammer was great, and you can tell that the actors had fun making the scene. The Iron Man, Hulk fight was the highlight of the movie and the climax doesn't overstay it's welcome. The action is top notch and proves that Marvel still knows how to put together action scenes.

All in all, you will enjoy this movie. But you will also leave it slightly disappointing. The movie doesn't add much to the MCU, but it doesn't ruin what's already been established. It's a fun popcorn movie that you and your friends will enjoy, but ultimately you're going to notice that something was missing. 7/10.

The performances are fantastic, which is to be expected, and the storyline is once again both prescient and compelling, providing commentary on the human condition and insight into the deeper natures of the Avengers themselves. The film had brought all the original members of the cast from the first Avengers film, their performances were no different than they were in The Avengers. When Age of Ultron was trying to shoot for the stars, they were also trying to break the $1.5 Billion box office record set by The Avengers back in 2012, but they were short by only $200 Million, but for Marvel, the critics and me, it was very successful. But its definitely a brilliant movie. Ultron is a much more devastating and indestructible villain. I prefer him over Loki any day of the week. One of the best scenes is the destructive action sequence between Iron Man and the Hulk. They practically tear apart a city in a catastrophic and unexpectedly funny smash match! There's a few new characters this time round. Specifically Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver. Their accents are a little muddy but they make good bonuses for the team. I'm excited to see them grow in future Marvel movies. I would have liked it if they had shown more of Ultron though. He's brilliantly brought to life by James Spader and his menacing throat box. I'd definitely watch this movie again, and I'd definitely recommend it. A must watch for Superhero fans! Expand

When looking uponA explosive yet otherwise forgettable entry in the series the avengers age of ultron rides on the hype of its predecessor and fails to take any risk actions removing any possibility of a threat for the star studded ensemble. When looking upon 2nd film character ark done right i think of Spider-man 2 and the dark knight, both film that handle the vulnerability of the hero testing them until they break then redeem themselves, Age of Ultron however has no threat, there is no fear of a main character dying, no sense of awe in the villain, and weak plot tread that are cringe worthy. The best way to describe Age of Ultron is like eating bread, it plain, devoid of any unique taste and your left wondering why your eating it, while this film does have its redeeming qualities which rounds the review to a 7 you could probably skip the film and not miss much Expand

This time it is the ' Ultron ' who take the resposibility of killing the mankind and thus in a way , the global eradication is its objective. While seeing the film , the irony is well understood that this same Ultron was created by ' Stark (Iron Man ) ' unintentionally.Hence the story is about how these Ultron
& co. are defeated by Avengers and save the mankind.

As usual ,' Robert Downey Jr. ' was cool in the character of Iron Man.
'Chris Hemworth ( Thor ) ' has got more screentime in this movie than the predecessor. He performs some light hearted comedies in this sequel.' Scarlett Johanssen ' was also equally charming in her role as ' Black Widow ' .' Hulk ( Mark Ruffalo ) ' rocks as usual. There is even a fight sequence between Iron Man and Hulk. Both 'Captain America ( Chris Evans ) ' and ' Hawk Eye ( Jeremy Renner ) ' has got equally important roles. There are two new additions to the Avengers ,and i think i will leave it up to the viewers to find out who they are.

Joss Whedon ( Director cum script writer ) managed to keep up the expectations of the audiences about this highly anticipated big budget production.Music department has done a good job.Hats off to those who handled the computer graphics and visual effects.

As a whole this movie has its elements to keep the viewers engaged for around two and a half hours.Cliches are the only drawbacks , if any to be pointed out.

My rating : 3.5/5
