Certainly a letdown, but still a competent and fun superhero flick that relies a little too heavily on jokes. Still, the introduction of Ulysses Klaue into the MCU is flawless.

This film may not reach the high points of it's predecessor, but Avengers: Age of Ultron is a fantastical movie with awesome special effects and a brilliant villain. Vision is in this movie and he was great. This was also funny, and Marvel is really on a roll right now. Age of Ultron is the latest piece of evidence to that fact Expand

Avengers:Age of Ultron is one of the final movies in marvel phase 2 and while not as great as the first one, this movie is still very good.
The action in this movie is truly spectacular and the visual effects are really good and believable throughout. This movie is filled with fighting sequences from the very beginning until the end.And I love all of them especially the end battle where the stakes are really high and a few emotional moments.
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are some of the new additions and they are very awesome and well done.I honestly thought that Quicksilver is not going to be good after what I saw on X-Men DOFP but he is great here too,and so is the actor who portrays him.
I love the group talks, seeing them get mad at each other and hating/loving is just so much fun and interesting. Also this movie is filled with laughs and comedic moments everywhere, which I truly appreciate.
As about the main villain,Ultron,in my opinion,he was very well done.I really liked him,and his sarcastic jokes.which I found funny every single time.He is mesmerizing and not forgettable at all.His intentions very understandable and the only problem with him was his creation, which felt rushed but besides that he is a very good villain.
There are some things that don't quiet work here, and other things that they did which just feel like they are setting up for the next movies to come in the marvel universe, but these are small flaws and passable ones because this movie overall is very well done and interesting until the very end.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Avengers Age of Ultron has done it again. Joss Wheden has again crafted a masterful film that balances his excess of characters marvelously. All of the Avengers get their proper time to shine, with none feeling left out as Hawk Eye did in the original Avengers movie. but by far the best characters in the movies are Ultron and Vision. They really illustrate the vision likes Ultron, he just doesn't agree with his motives so he is forced to fight against him.
Overall Avengers Age of Ultron delivers on every level. The action, the characters, the dialog, and the humor is top notch and is near flawless.

This time it is the ' Ultron ' who take the resposibility of killing the mankind and thus in a way , the global eradication is its objective. While seeing the film , the irony is well understood that this same Ultron was created by ' Stark (Iron Man ) ' unintentionally.Hence the story is about how these Ultron
& co. are defeated by Avengers and save the mankind.

As usual ,' Robert Downey Jr. ' was cool in the character of Iron Man.
'Chris Hemworth ( Thor ) ' has got more screentime in this movie than the predecessor. He performs some light hearted comedies in this sequel.' Scarlett Johanssen ' was also equally charming in her role as ' Black Widow ' .' Hulk ( Mark Ruffalo ) ' rocks as usual. There is even a fight sequence between Iron Man and Hulk. Both 'Captain America ( Chris Evans ) ' and ' Hawk Eye ( Jeremy Renner ) ' has got equally important roles. There are two new additions to the Avengers ,and i think i will leave it up to the viewers to find out who they are.

Joss Whedon ( Director cum script writer ) managed to keep up the expectations of the audiences about this highly anticipated big budget production.Music department has done a good job.Hats off to those who handled the computer graphics and visual effects.

As a whole this movie has its elements to keep the viewers engaged for around two and a half hours.Cliches are the only drawbacks , if any to be pointed out.

My rating : 3.5/5

The writing is unimpressive but does keep the characters likeable, but that may be due to the great acting from the whole cast. Ultron is a great villain but is never developed enough, so he never reaches his full potential. The action can be great but just feels like any blockbuster out there, and never fully exceeds them in that department.

Overall a complete let down on the film, that is sure to go down in score after the hype has died down. Still has some good moments that do bring the score up, but is so uneven that the highest score I can give this film is a 6.

It would've made quite the differenceWhile most certainly not failing to live up to it's predecessor in the realm of action in terms of both quantity and quality, this film does fail to deliver on the same "wow" factor of the first movie. It would've made quite the difference (for the better) to have a previously developed hero join the team for this bout at saving the world as it was, just a small tad, dull to watch the same heroes with a couple of newcomers, only just now developed in this film fight it out against another sinister villain. Who, by the way is portrayed brilliantly by actor James Spader. The rest of the cast also does an amazing job playing their respective characters. The extended development of this film's supporting characters, especially Hawkeye and Maria Hill was also very well done and welcomed with open arms. While it is lacking in any real twists in the story, it was an interesting premise with acceptable pacing. Expand

I saw this twice in theaters and even the second time still greatly enjoyed it. The action is properly balanced throughout the movie, and the tease for the third film is setting up what I think will be one epic & wild ride. When you can put substance to cool characters and slick action scenes, you get great movies like Age of Ultron. I highly recommend getting in on this with a big screen before the summer movies flood us all and it gets demoted to lesser screens or Redbox. Expand

I cannot believe the hate on this movie. It is a good movie. This is a popcorn flick. Complaints about not being real enough is crazy, because it is a sci-fi super hero movie.

With that said, I do agree it is not as good as the first, but not far off. The acting is fine, not exceptional. The story is fine for this style of movie, but the dialogue was not as good as the first Avengers.

The first Avengers movie was something I think just about anyone would have enjoyed. This one is more for those truly into this type of movie. You do not have to be a comic book fan to enjoy it.

For a sequel, it has done an impressive job. Standards are super high for this movie due to the success of the first one. If you go, just know it will be fast paced fun.

I really enjoyed this movie! Not as amazing as the first Avengers film, but it did come close. There were a few things that really bugged me that prevented this movie from being a 10.

Warning: SPOILERS

I didn’t like how they threw us into a huge action sequence. We didn’t even know who they were fighting until several minutes into the scene. That’s a terrible setup. Very over the top. However, after that sequence with the Hydra base, everything became very very good! I loved Joss Whedon's dialogue scenes between the many characters. I especially loved the part when Thor got worried that Captain America would lift his hammer… then sighed with relief and smiled trying to hide his fear. I also loved the story of how Tony Stark created Ultron to help them defend Earth, which totally backfired. It made total sense given the events in the past films.

Another thing that bugged me was how Black Widow all of a sudden was in love with Bruce Banner. Where the heck did that come from? She had her moments with Hawkeye in the first Avengers, and then with Captain America in the Winter Soldier film… but now she loves the Hulk? I guess they can’t figure out a real story for the Hulk, so this gives him something to do. Also, I didn’t like how the bad guys made the Hulk go crazy again, so the Avengers had to subdue him again. Total copout as it’s identical to what happened in the first movie. Although, that Iron Man vs. Hulk fight was epic!

I also didn’t like how this film really didn’t push any of the Thanos storyline forward. It was more of a story about how the Avengers almost doomed themselves, which is a good story in itself, but not for continuing the overall series. So when Thanos shows up in the credits and says, “Looks like I have to take care of things myself.” That implies that Ultron not being able to destroy Earth was of his doing… which made no sense. Anyways, this totally explains why the Infinity War story is going to be broken into two films… because Thanos really hasn’t been hands on at all so far.

I think they did an awesome job with balancing the characters in this movie, while still giving Hawkeye a big piece in the film. I LOVED THAT! I also think they did a great job introducing a ton of new characters (Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Vision), even if their abilities are supernatural, they did a great job without making their abilities feel too cartoony. I was always afraid that when they got to these more mystical characters, that it would ruin a universe that’s been mostly grounded on reality. When Iron Man, Thor and Vision were blasting Ultron all at once… Vision felt like he fit right in. Dope!

There are certainly liberties taken with Ultron's origin and personality, as well as with intercharacter relationships, but I have become accustomed to this since comic story arks have largely changed since the 70's and 80's when I was reading and collecting comics. My entire family, wife, 11 year old son and 6 year old daughter enjoyed the movie in 3D. I cannot wait to go to my next Marvel movie, Disney is doing a great job of providing enjoyable movies and making a few $ in the process. Expand

Let's start with the good points. Amazing action scenes, like, seriously some of the best in any comic book movie to date, the story was pretty good but i was dissapointed the end goal was a typical 'destroy the world' plot. The characters we really good, Hawkeye and Bruce Banner became more interesting, Quicksilver was ok, I didn't like how they killed him off, scarlet witch was ok as well and Vision was amazing, absolutely loved him. The Hulk VS Ironman (Hulkbuster) scene was the best part of the movie, soooo good. But seriously, WHY and HOW did Ironman win?!?!?

Now for the bad parts. Way, way, way too many cheesy jokes. C'mon Marvel can you just lay off the jokes for at least one movie? While it was one of the more darker MCU movies, it still had the cheesiness to it. Now for Ultron, i wanted to like him but i just couldn't he was way too comedic and was continuously cracking cheesy jokes, it took away from how menacing he is supposed to be, but i can say that we was cool showing off his powers at times. Another minus is that the movie did feel a little clustered, i would've liked to see more of the Maximoff twins. Also the post/mid credit scene was disappointing, nothing new that we haven't seen yet.

A couple other touches i liked were Thor's vision about the infinity gems, it's nice we got to see some set up for Infinity war, i also loved the fact that they went to Wakanda, nice little Black Panther reference.
All in all i thoroughly enjoyed this film, especially for a comic book fan like myself. 8/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This movie was surprisingly long and involved, and did a good job of balancing an enormous cast of interesting characters, many of whom have their own elaborate back stories, as well as some new characters. The movie brings the Avengers together again, with all of their disagreements and disgruntlements with one another--their antagonism produces some solid running gags, such as teasing Captain America for his reaction to swearing. The premise of the movie is interesting, as they're now fighting a villain of Tony Stark's own creation, which tests the bonds between the Avengers. We also see (finally) a Scarlett Johansson romance developing, but with the Hulk, as we simultaneously find out that her friendship with Hawkeye is just that. Their just-friends status is confirmed by the discovery that Hawkeye has a comfortable nuclear family tucked away in a set of woods somewhere for their safety, which makes him a more complex character.

The resolution of the film through the creation of yet another artificial intelligence from Tony Stark is neat, and manages to avoid feeling like a deus ex machina by all the work it takes to get everything worked out. The action scenes leading up to the climax were really well paced, as the action was punctuated by conversations between different characters, and it balanced all their different story lines as well. Another solid Marvel movie, that ends on a nice note of anticipation, already setting up for the next installment.

To deny that it has really high points would be stupid. The action is magnificent. The characters interact in a very funny and interesting way, and they all have a motivation for the most part. Being a little bit more specific here: Captain America is all of a sudden the coolest Avenger, going hand-to-hand against Ultron and pretty much kicking ass. Iron Man and Hulk have their moments, although not as many as I would have hoped. Hawkeye and Black Widow feel important enough and Thor... well, he's there too, and he's cool. Now, the Vision is probably the biggest attraction. He's visually astounding. And the twins are good enough to keep the film going on. Ultron is a really interesting villain, even though he could have been more menacing at times. But I do hate one thing: the editing. The pace of the movie is terrible at times and I hate that some scenes have no connection with anything. Regardless, Age of Ultron will probably end up being the least relevant Avengers film, but I think it's very, very solid and entertaining. Expand

But its definitely a brilliant movie. Ultron is a much more devastating and indestructible villain. I prefer him over Loki any day of the week. One of the best scenes is the destructive action sequence between Iron Man and the Hulk. They practically tear apart a city in a catastrophic and unexpectedly funny smash match! There's a few new characters this time round. Specifically Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver. Their accents are a little muddy but they make good bonuses for the team. I'm excited to see them grow in future Marvel movies. I would have liked it if they had shown more of Ultron though. He's brilliantly brought to life by James Spader and his menacing throat box. I'd definitely watch this movie again, and I'd definitely recommend it. A must watch for Superhero fans! Expand

'Avengers: Age of Ultron' isn't too far off 2012's 'The Avengers', especially in terms of how I fell about it. I definitely wanted more from both, yet they are still satisfying superhero action flicks. I'd rank this narrowly below the aforementioned.

Robert Downey Jr. felt a little flat to me as Iron Man - he still has a decent amount of moments, just not as many as you get in his individual films. All the others continue to entertain to an equally suitable level, I didn't overly like the characters of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen but I also don't have any noteworthy negatives about them. The story between Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo didn't do much for me either.

With that noted, it is still an enjoyable ride through the 141 minute run time. The ending is intriguing, interested to see where that goes - I have a minor inkling about the mid-credits scene, given all the internet attention that has had - even for someone like me who knows very little overall.

In the first movie we had emotion, tension, drama... basically a bunch of gods trying to get the measure of each other as they fought against a largely unknown enemy, that culminated in a good ol' fashioned brawl. Here we have just the brawl, and the movie lacks for it. It's not bad, but its not the same quality.

It was also painfully clear that this movie was written to fill the gap and get the Marvel Universe to where the writers wanted it for the third movie. There's so much "oh look who's here" and "hey, guess what this is" that it would be ridiculous in anything but a comic book movie.

Ultimately, a fun movie, worth the money to see it in the theater, but I doubt I'll watch it a second time nor remember it much anyway. Unlike the first movie, which I have seen multiple times and plan to see again real soon.

Each character gets a fair amount of screen time and their mini side story's didn't take away from the main story.

The villain Ultron played by James Spader was fantastic he was both menacing and funny at certain times.

Overall, Joss Whedon has created a fantastic film and a great summer movie.

Very enjoyable. It wasn't as awe-inspiring as the first Avengers but the story was still solid and well worth seeing. I'll probably end up seeing it a second time in the theaters.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" 10 Scale Rating: 9.0 (Amazing) ...

The Good: Obviously the action scenes are fantastic, which is to be expected. But this time around, the choreography of some of the fight scenes and the way that the large battles were filmed was mind blowing. The characterization was very well done despite what I thought would be an unwieldy cast. Sure, the overwhelming majority of the characters in the film were fleshed out in the first film or in other films, but it was still impressive that Whedon found a way for everyone to shine and have their moments. On top of that, he juggled plenty of cameos from the Marvel Cinematic Universe with ease. The cast just seems to genuinely like eachother and enjoy working together and it shows. The camaraderie is apparent, even in the more tense and confrontational scenes. New characters Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), and Vision (Paul Bettany) fit right in without missing a beat as if they were wholeheartedly welcomed into the super hero fraternity. On the villainous side, James Spader lends his distinctive voice to Ultron, an A.I. bent on exterminating mankind. I was initially leery of him being cast in this role, but any reservations that I had were remedied the very first moment he spoke. Lastly, there are plenty of Easter Eggs and references that hardcore fans will enjoy. A couple of battles in particular, which showcase everyone fighting together, are especially geekgasm-worthy. A triumphant sequel that surpasses the original, which I thought was impossible.

The Bad: Unfortunately, one thing that will bring the film down is that it doesn't stand on it's own. It's tied heavily not only to it's predecessor, but also into the myriad of other films that comprise a shared universe. If you haven't seen those films, you won't get everything. A few CGI scenes were not as good as they should have been, which was a little surprising. Ultron's final gambit was a slight letdown. I was expecting more with all the build up.

Whedon brings us simply more of the Avengers. Only this time the action has been cranked up significantly. It really doesn't do much to build up or change it's world. It mainly serves as another entry meant to entertain while hinting at even bigger things to come.

This isn't entirely a bad thing. The results are very fun. Plenty of references to and inclusions of material from the comics that built this universe are in place to make Marvel fans happy. While the almost non-stop action can get exhausting at times it is no less entertaining. Probably though where the movie stumbles the most is that there isn't any real tension.

Ultron is a compelling villain and played incredibly well by James Spader. He has an incredible personality that ultimately isn't used well enough to make him stand out. Despite all of his witty lines and incredible potential his role isn't anything more than what we've already come to see from other Marvel movie villains. His generic destroy humanity goal basically just serves as a way to give the Avengers a lot of cannon fodder to bash through. I enjoyed seeing Ultron onscreen and he does have a few cool moments that elevate him above generic Marvel movie villain, but his motives and methods are basically the same. It's not hard to see that there's so much more that could have been done with him.

The majority of the story itself is the generic heroes have to save the day stuff we got with the last Avengers, but there are moments where it all tries to do something a little more. It does a lot to build up tension between the heroes (an obvious setup for Civil War). Their motives are tested and reasoning questioned. Although it all works out in the end and they team up to beat the villain once again it's not hard to see how some of these wounds of mistrust won't heal all the way and lead to some conflict down the road.

They pack a lot into this movie. A significant portion of which builds up the future of the MCU. Some more minor additions like the inclusions of new superheroes and looks into some the more minor characters (Hawkeye) lives are appreciated and fun. Most of this little stuff pays off in big ways, especially in the humor department. These characters have formed real relationships. Their friendships often lead to some playful teasing that's hilarious. Humor extends to other aspects of the film as well. The humor is appreciated even among all of the chaos.

One thing that doesn't really work out is the relationship between Banner and Black Widow. Outside of Ruffalo's charming awkwardness and goofiness around Natasha the relationship doesn't actually feel like a real thing. The characters interact, but you never pick up any sort of romantic vibe. I can say that it doesn't feel forced, but that's because it doesn't feel like it actually exists.

As always with these superhero movies the fiction is stretched due to a reliance on elements and possibilities that don't exist in the real world. Age of Ultron does a great job at keeping these things understandable. At least until talk of infinity stones pops up and they create android life. I'm still not really sure what happened with that.

Age of Ultron is a superhero extravaganza. It's roughly two-and-a-half hour running time is packed full of action and excitement. It might not hit all of the right notes with it's story or do anything particularly new, but it doesn't change the fact that it's still a blast. If you enjoy Marvel movies you'll enjoy this. It brings your favorite, incredibly well cast superheroes back to thing big screen in order to do some crazy cool stuff.

I give "Avengers: Age of Ultron" an 8.5/10.

Ultron: "There are no strings on me!".

The story to The Avengers: Age of Ultron is about Tony Stark jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as they battle to save the planet from destruction at the hands of the villainous Ultron.

You had no idea how excited I was for Age of Ultron even after the chilling and dark looking teaser trailer we got back in October last year. The teaser trailer looked really dark and so dead serious and I know that's a thing with Marvel films today that they making they own films look dark and gritty but it's comedy, I have no idea why they do that but anywhere I was hooked. The villain Ultron was another reason for me to get excited for the movie as "There are no strings on me", thing I never thought it would be so creepy. After seeing the movie I can say that Age of Ultron is a great start to summer movies and a lot of fun to watch.

Joss Whedon had spoken out saying "This was the hardest movie he ever worked on", and I clearly see the effort and hard work put into this movie. Joss had a lot of things in his hands while making this movie and that's it's characters, story, action and it's brilliant sense of humor, and it payed off well. Joss Whedon did a great job directing this movie as he put in enough energy and to entertain everyone.

James Spader as the villain Ultron is pretty much what I already expected for the most part but these a lot of surprises to his character like his sense of humor and how self aware he is about everything around him and I think it worked and fitted him very well. James Spader pretty much dose Raymond 'Red' Reddington from The Blacklist and I'm not saying that in a negative way but more of a good thing. Marvel isn't doing such a great job with villains and I'm not talking about Loki I mean in Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy all have weak villains but Ultron was awesome and I'm happy his character wasn't like the other villains in those three movies I just named. Great work James Spader.

The visual effect's were pretty damn good, the Avengers themselves are once again brilliant as we remember them.

Now for problems: Black Widow and Bruce Banner or Hulk have a love triangle in this movie and it really doesn't work at all. They chemistry wasn't there and there was no build up to it, I would like to see Captain American or Haweye have relationship with her as she as better chemistry with those two, it would have made more sense since she's been with Captain America and Haweye more times than Banner.

I feel that the movie didn't really set up the Civil War story in the next Marvel movie with Iron Man and Captain America against each other. I know a couple of times those two would get into a little fight but they quickly shake it off and moved on, it's a small little nick pick I have and I know it wouldn't effect everyone else but I just saying the Civil War story should have been set up a little bit.

Overall The Avengers: Age of Ultron is a great start to the summer movie season. I had a great time watching this movie, I never got bored, all the characters had they screen time and it was funny and entertaining, the villain I thought was great and the action scenes was very enjoyable.

Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner are back with some new additions to the franchise in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', one of the most anticipated films of 2015.

This sequel is very different to the 2012 film, 'The Avengers'. By that I mean the first movie is for people who are looking for a good action flick and are disappointed with the "Transformers" films. But the action still needs purpose and that's what that movie had to offer, it didn't disappoint. "Age of Ultron" on the other hand is a darker, personal and small sequel than the original. In other words, if you like a bigger story with heart and emotion with some pretty neat action, i.e. 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' (2014), than this one is for you.

While the characters are back, the humor is present and the action scenes are aplenty, 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' will no doubt divide many audiences who may think this is either better than the original, or slightly underwhelming. I think it's as good as the first, it may not be clean as 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' (2014), nor is it messy as 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (2014), but I was gripped from start to finish.

James Spader voices Ultron, the main enemy of the film. The first thing I have to comment on is his performance, and what a performance it is. I reckon Ultron is the best on-screen, comic-book villain since Heath Ledger's Joker in 'The Dark Knight' (2008).

Another new additions to the franchise are; Pietro Maximoff aka "Quicksilver" (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Wanda Maximoff aka "Scarlet Witch" (Elizabeth Olsen). I didn't really feel that these characters were necessary to this story, but they had some spectacular moments and that's thanks to Joss Whedon's confident direction.

Overall, I liked this movie, probably not as much as recent superhero outings such as 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' (2014) or 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' (2014)...but I liked it much better than 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (2014). The story is darker, the action scenes maybe too much and too exhausting, and maybe 2 hours and 21 minutes is a bit too long...but if you are a die-hard Marvel fan, you will not be disappointed.

And by the way, is Aaron Johnson's Quicksilver better than Evan Peters? I still prefer Evan Peters because of that famous slow-motion scene, but Johnson delivers a clean and sophisticated, cool performance.

Throwing together the best interwoven cinematic universe is a tough thing to do, but Marvel certainly nailed it. Many consider The Avengers to be a cornerstone film for comic book adaptions. Though I have my gripes with it, those people are certainly right; it nails the essence of what a comic book feels like. Also The Avengers was popular, as many of you know. Like the transition from The Dark Knight to Rises, it’s nearly impossible to meet the standards the previous film has made, but Whedon has tried and he gives us a flawed gem that I have enjoyed more than the first, but still has it’s share of issues.

The opening of the film very much channels the energy of the ending of the first movie. The high pace action that follows one characters and passes the torch to another, eventually giving us an overview of the team, The movie has some very well placed shots, and for the sake of the action, some great cinematography. When Iron Man punches something with tons of inertia, you feel it. When the Hulk bulldozes his way through a structure, you get the awe of the moment, something director, Joss Whedon, nails and is more consistent with this time around.

It wouldn’t be a Whedon film without mentioning the dialogue. Joss proves, yet again, that he’s a master of banter and juggling characters. This works out great, particularly with Hawkeye, whom gets the best lines the entire movie and cements himself as a standout, he is given the right amount of love and care that was absent. Iron Man bounces off of everyone pretty well, and the characters feel exactly as they should be, except Ultron. Our villain here is played quite well by the mesmerizing voice of James Spader, however, the dialogue fails him. Too often do we hear sarcasm that just doesn’t feel right and doesn’t match the sinister look and feel that Ultron should emulate. It’s disappointing because Ultron had so much potential to be a more menacing and memorable villain and instead, he just fills a role.

There’s a romance dynamic between Dr. Banner and Black Widow that seems out of place as well. It’s good to get some insight into the mind of the Hulk but the way it came to life just feels out of place and doesn’t have a good enough pay off, though perhaps it will in a future installment. We also get two new characters in the form of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Both are integral to the plot, and Scarlet Witch makes for a pretty good edition, whereas Quicksilver’s powers are showcased very well, neither give off a huge lasting impression, but it’s forgivable and they’re fun to see on screen.

The main problem that the movie suffers from is pacing. The first one spent all it’s time on the helicarrier and in New York, this one juggles so many locations it’s tough to pin it all down. The beginning is quick and interesting, but then there’s just gap that doesn’t really grab and hold onto us. Age of Ultron is at it’s best when there’s action going on or The Avenger’s themselves are caught up in conflict with one another. This oddball pacing continues, but it doesn’t mean we don’t get some great moments. We get a look at Black Panther’s main villain played by Andy Serkis. There’s an action sequence in Africa with Hulkbuster armor and The Hulk that’s a highlight, the ending is pretty solid as well, and any scenes with The Vision are great.

What attracts me to the movie is how it’s evolved from the first one. Whedon could have done it all over again in the same format and people would have loved it, but that’s no how he does it. We get a fleshed out story that sometimes falls but damn it’s admirable, we get the comedy and quips that Joss is known for, and some superb action to top it all off. I will admit that while most of the dialogue was great, there are some bad moments of dialogue, however they are few and far in between.

What we get is a commendable movie that I really did have a lot of fun with. There are moments where I got lost, there was too much going on, or it jumps around too much, but we end up with a Marvel movie that delivers, and the promise of an Avenger’s sequel is a hard thing to deliver, Whedon does his best and gives us a good product. Age of Ultron is a great movie for any Marvel fans and film goers alike.

This is a well crafted addition to the Marvel universe. Some backgrounding for some of the characters and the team were allowed to spread their wings.

The action scenes were well paced and exciting.

The villain was menacing enough and since he was a AI then it was about the right level for me.

The use of a large block of rock was interesting though unlikely to cause the damage they were talking about to destroy the world.

Great jokes all the way through.

Super fun, better than the original and lacking the end-of-the-third-act boredom that almost all major films elicit from me in this age.

The mediocre and negative reviews this film recieves are from reviewers who I think are yet to get hip to the "shared universe" storytelling style that comic books have been using for over 100 years. The "movie" is dead. We are in the post modern era of film. Movies now ASSUME that you have seen the previous versions, are familiar with the characters and their relationships, and will see it's brother and sister films. The film doesn't need to explain everything and everybody. It also assumes you will see it multiple times. It does't care if you can't keep up. As a comic fan, I find this thrilling. There is no need for the cliche notes that films have struck for years just because they feel they "need" to.

As I always i love the characters, the effects, the action, the comedy ,the villain, is one of the best films of 2015. Avengers Age of Ultron is also recommended for geeks, but it is also better to see the first , to understand the second . Expand

Despite this, it's yet another undeniably entertaining ride. The formula is starting to wear thin now (another flying thing climax!) and Marvel really need to make a change. Stark has created the Ultron programme which becomes sentient and threatens to destroy the world in a plot that is generally quite hard to follow. Unless you are a Marvel geek most of the plot is fairly unintelligible, the fun for the casual viewer is the character interplay and the big set pieces, both of which deliver in spades. However, so much of the plot is the setting up of future films that confusion soon prevails and it all becomes a little tiring, with the standard finale of a city being blown apart in an orgy of special effects. It's still hugely entertaining but you can't help feeling that the formula is getting a little tired and some fresh blood may be needed Expand

Now the reason it's not great is some of the plot points like vision Paul was great as vision but they tried to make him important than he is and I feel it didn't work also I felt Ultron creation or origin was a bit rushed but in the end didn't matter. One major disappointment was ultron's defeat I felt it was a bit anticlimactic and the humour in it was a bit out of place, one small problem was thor's role it was too complicated and didn't make sense but all in all one of the best movies from marvel an absolute BLAST. First, this film had a sense of heart, not failing to take risks at many points. Second, it had some freaking depth for once. You actually felt for the characters, even though Whedon may have emphasized it a bit too much (i.e. Hawkeye's family). Lastly, it actually had a plot. The action scenes were still top notch, the acting, especially by RDJ as Tony Stark, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlett Witch, Scar Jo as Natasha Romanov and especially James Spader as the voice of Ultron, who is probably one of my favorite villain performances in the Marvel Universe. Overall, a worthy sequel to the biggest super hero blockbuster of all time that exceeds it's predecessor in many ways. Expand

The main problem here is that they tried to do too much and the story wound up feeling clustered. The special effects, however, were absolutely impeccable and completely mind blowing. The acting was solid and the action was well directed. My main problems have to do with the script, as it tried to be too funny, and the amount of characters involved. While the new characters were cool, not only did I not know their names (they may have been said, but I must've missed it if it was), but it just wound up feeling incredibly crowded. However, they did a nice job plotting the film and really did a nice job developing the new characters, while also managing to advance the stories of the other heroes. Their adversary is a worthy one, but at a certain point, you do want them to get on with it and finally take on Thanos. At this rate, it feels like that is 20 movies away, honestly. However, on its own ground, this one is a solid entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and brings plenty to the table. Expand

Its hard in an ensemble film to give every character some kind of story arch. So a few of them are a bit light. Also in a positive note. I really like the doomsday weapon. Usually they are overly complex and use a lot of science/magic. This one, the means of accomplishing it may be science/magic. But the weapon is simple and straightforward. Expand

There's plenty of trademark humor and spectacle and while Marvel may not have been able to reignite the spark of 2012's 'Avengers' exactly, it operates as an acceptable jump off point for their third phase of movies. Age of Ultron is even better written, the main storyline is again not that spectacular, but this time the pacing felt right and I had some loud laughs.
The action sequences are partly really spectacular (opening shot) and partly a little bit too shaky for my taste.
In the end, this movie entertained me excellently over its entire runtime because of its writing and characters.

Updated Review:
Avengers: Age of Ultron is an equivalent counterpart to its predecessor. It’s a great time with a lot of epicness, laughs and of course the same awesome superheroes. But something is missing.

One of the greatest aspects with this new Marvel movie is that the theme is very different. The chemistry between the main characters is much darker, and the danger is very much from within as it is from Ultron. The best thing with this sequel is the humor; it’s so random and freaking fantastic at some places. I also had a great time with Ultron, he’s visually stunning and a superb character that also got humor! The CGI is incredible, but he did actually look a bit too “computerish”, like a character from a videogame. But Ultron, and Vision are actually both my favorite characters in this movie, especially Vision. He’s freaking awesome (even though he looks like another superhero) and he’s now one of my favorite characters in the MCU. The plot of this film is in a way a bit simpler than in the previous movie, but there are a lot more things going on at the same time. Other great aspects are: a great and action-packed opening scene, much returning and new characters from previous movies, deep messages and conversations, incredible special effects and of course the same classic humor.

But sadly, there are a lot of flaws. The first thing is that they shouldn’t have shown as much as they did in the trailers. Yes it totally made me go watch the movie, but there wasn’t as many surprises as I wanted to see. The trailers did ruin the movie a bit. The 3D didn’t really add anything; there weren’t that many 3D-effects. I also did expect a fantastic soundtrack, but it wasn’t the same as in the first film. The film is also predictable, especially in the third act. It should at least have been one massive plot twist; it would have made the ending much greater even though I totally loved it. The action sequences are of course fantastic, but some of them are all the same and nothing new was contributed, it’s too much focus on CGI and SPX rather on the plot. And it’s awesome to see new and returning characters from previous MCU movies, but it actually became too many, so many of the major characters didn’t get as much focus as I wanted to see.

But I still had a great time with this movie. It’s better than the first but there’s something missing, something important. They had all these incredible characters and actors, but they didn’t use them fully. The movie is fantastic, but it could have been even better. After watching it a second time have all the negative aspects become greater. From a longer perspective do I actually think that the first Avengers movie winns. I'm therefor lowering my rating from 8.8 to 8.6. But instead of reading this long and boring review do I really recommend that you go and watch it, because it’s freaking awesome and it did live up to my expectations.

And when I finally did get to see the film...well, I gotta say I was a little disappointed. After the first film was fantastic and all-around well-made, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" just isn't as exciting as the previous film. When looking upon 2nd film character ark done right i think of Spider-man 2 and the dark knight, both film that handle the vulnerability of the hero testing them until they break then redeem themselves, Age of Ultron however has no threat, there is no fear of a main character dying, no sense of awe in the villain, and weak plot tread that are cringe worthy. The best way to describe Age of Ultron is like eating bread, it plain, devoid of any unique taste and your left wondering why your eating it, while this film does have its redeeming qualities which rounds the review to a 7 you could probably skip the film and not miss much Expand

No real spoilers here but some hints.

I’ll start by saying I did not walk out of the theater with that overwhelming awe-buzz. Honestly though, that is as much about Marvel expectations than the lack of greatness shown on the screen. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll watch anything Marvel makes till the cows come home, they are that good. But let’s face it, we are getting two to three comic-based movies a year, so the novelty is gone and it’s all about the raw film making and acting. Which remains very high in this film, by the way.

On that note, Marvel continue to impress with great dialog, situational comedy, solid action with quality effects. Not to mention lovable characters that are well-defined and deeply developed.

Considering the source of the antagonist in this film, they created a deliciously diabolical character that we can almost feel. Since Marvel has already vetted the core group of protagonists they were at liberty to add a few new ‘Avengers’ in this film without making it feel crowded.

I felt like they advanced the Scarlet Witch too quickly, however. She starts off as a mind manipulator “not ready” for action and allied with the “bad guys”. By the end of the movie she has become a fully evolved and powerful character as well as a member of the Avengers. That transformation from naive frightened girl discovering her power to the energy wielding juggernaut happens a tad too fast.

The Tony Stark character continues to impress and Robert Downey Jr. shows us the darker side of his obsessive behavior. Tony is a good guy that is in desperate need of a moral compass. Good thing the Cap is an Avenger :) With each new movie Scarlett Johannsen continues to impress with a deep character portrayal of Black Widow.

Marvel also continues to bring the whole marvel Universe together with these films. There are tie ins with Marvel’s Agents of Shield on ABC TV, The previous movies including other franchises like the X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy. The whole Marvel Universe is a big connected family and they continue to merge and blend them to keep this wonderful continuity going.

This movie is extremely well done and though I don’t walk out of the theater with that crazy buzz, I think that is a real testament to just how good Marvel is. I have come to expect ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ every time I see a Marvel movie. The expectation is greatness and so when all they deliver is the usual greatness, the buzz isn’t there. It’s like I am Andy Capp and my booze is Marvel Movies, no matter how much I drink I just can’t get lit on it anymore. Don’t for one second think that isn’t a good thing. Marvel just cranks out good movies like Peyton Manning throws touchdown passes; it’s just another day at the office.

I gotta give this movie a solid 4 stars, I know it’s getting old passing out A grades every time Stan Lee touches something, but what am gonna do? It’s good stuff.

All the heroes and stars from the previous movies have returned to"Age Of Ultron" the Marvel movie everyone...well almost everyone as been waiting for, It released May 1st and it was packed full of over the top action and super heroes. All the heroes and stars from the previous movies have returned to reprise their rolls and Josh Whedon is in the directors chair. All that mixes fantastically together in a Comedic Action Flick that most fans of the series will adore. Age of Ultron is much, Much more comedic then previous Marvel films, Everyone gets plenty of chessy one liners and there chance to crack a joke or four(especially Tony Stark). It's not a bad thing, But it can take away from the dramatic feel in some scenes or feel a little forced. The story is based around "Ultron" a AI Tony made to help save the world but didn't quite do what Tony wanted and makes life much more difficult for "The Avengers". The premiums of Ultron and his plans is very dark and grim but between the jokes and so many different sub plots happening it takes away from the real threat Ultron is.

All the actors did a stellar job in their rolls and you can tell they get along great with fellow cast mates. Nothing feels off tone or extremely out of place and gives the acting a bit more of a natural feel even Ultron a robot feels human like.James Spader did a phenomenal job voice acting Ultron , some lines sent shivers down my spine.

All that put together "Age Of Ultron" is a extremely entertaining action movie but it feels like the story development took a bit of a backseat and Comedy and Explosions became more of a focus. I hope Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Or Batman Vs Superman will let marvel see what a slightly more dark and serious super hero movie should look like and push them in that direction with the last Avengers movies.

Black Widow had a few possible romances first, with Hawkeye (which after this, we know it was just a friendship) then with Captain America (this one was really what i thought that could have worked, but, no) And, finally with Mr. Anger, but after all it finished like all the rest. After all this false romances we just lose hope, so that makes me think that this one just was another.
2. Second, this one could be the worst (or close), the ridiculous humor. Recently Marvel movies are known for its hilarious funny little situations, and by put it all together, jokes, action, drama, unpredictability, all in one, that was what made the first Avengers movie so much memorable, but in this sequel it has non of it, at the point of being mostly ridiculous or even sometimes unfunny (sometimes the jokes are funny), but all the "all in one" situations of the first movie (mostly or as good), you will not find them here.
3. The gooffy, Disney villain version of Ultron, this one did disappoint me, Ultron wasn't intimidating or scary like we have come to expect. It's true, Ultron was not dark, even if "dark" is the definition of Ultron itself. It was almost all the time, a gooffy, not worthy villain. And it wasn't the macabre, DARK foe that made life impossible to the Avengers.
4. The story has many holes. We already talk about the worthless relationship of Hulk and Black Widow, or the not fare adaptation of Ultron. But despite that, the story still have many holes, like the poorly limited time of Ultron on screen or the fast moving of the movie that leave us sometimes confused. But probably the worst thing was the fact that a brand-new avenger just died, it leaved me in shock (by the way, the death of quicksilver wasn't so touching, it was cute and sad, but the reaction that I had was being very confused, I mean, he just came here, and he dies?. another thing that bothered me was the post credits scene, it "literally" remakes the scene of the first movie, Marvel also is known for its exciting post credits scene that leaves us with emotion and waiting the next movie. This post credits scene is too short and it just leaves me waiting more.
5. This sequel do not live up to its hype. Really, the trailer was just amazing and exciting, but the movie is not even close. What truly disappointed me was that the trailer seems so epic, I though that it could even be better than the first, mostly because it gave the impression of being a serious movie, by an intimidating Ultron, real human drama, suspense, we all waited that sooner or later it will be a point that the movies will became serious and melodramatic, the trailer said that, but you all know the result. I think that Age of Ultron recycles its predecessor epicness to give a remake of the first movie, but better, and it isn't.

Let's face it, the movie wasn't bad, it was undeniably entertaining, but as a true fan of Marvel's movies this sequel of the avengers wasn't what I waited with so much emotion. Once again the movie was not bad at all, its special effects are amazing and some action scenes are awesome as well, and the performances are undeniably good (by the way, James Spader gave a remarkable voice acting, what I didn't like was the interpretation of Ultron itself) But after all, the movie has many holes, but I have to say that it is in many ways a satisfyingly sequel.

Changing the subject, I give all my hopes in Civil War, that is one of the most EPIC comics and after The Winter Soldier, I hope an excellent movie like it. Don't you???

I'm going to make this short. This movie is good, but it isn't anything ground braking. Everything this movie does was either done better in the first movie or it mostly didn't work at all. Everything this movie does was either done better in the first movie or it mostly didn't work at all. The romance between Dr. Banner and Black Widow is so unnecessary that it causes a notable sigh with audiences. Ultron himself is an uninteresting villain. Which that has more to do with the fact that he's an uninspired version of Tony Stark. And while I will say that the story is miss-narration from time to time, but it isn't too hard to follow.

However, the movie itself is fun to watch and does have some things to offer. The scene about Thor's Hammer was great, and you can tell that the actors had fun making the scene. The Iron Man, Hulk fight was the highlight of the movie and the climax doesn't overstay it's welcome. The action is top notch and proves that Marvel still knows how to put together action scenes.

All in all, you will enjoy this movie. But you will also leave it slightly disappointing. The movie doesn't add much to the MCU, but it doesn't ruin what's already been established. It's a fun popcorn movie that you and your friends will enjoy, but ultimately you're going to notice that something was missing. 7/10.

Once again, we get to the whole Avengers team fighting a pretty big army. ¿What can I say? It doesn't present anything particularly original in comparison to the first film, but this is awesome. Just watching this people fighting one moreOnce again, we get to the whole Avengers team fighting a pretty big army. ¿What can I say? It doesn't present anything particularly original in comparison to the first film, but this is awesome. Just watching this people fighting one more time is good enough. The special effects were really incredible, the action was just awesome, Ultron is an excellent villain and everything just looks fantastic. And also, there are many good jokes in this movie, it is actually a pretty funny movie based on little jokes about little things the characters do and say through the entire film. It's just really good.
The only unlikeable thing is what I already mentioned. It just presents the Avengers fighting one more time. Everything is spectacularly well done, but it isn't really very original.
You have to watch it, though.
