The movie sets up the future of MCU but as an individual story it's not that great. The storyline is too obvious and no elements of suprise & twist. Acting of Jonathan Majors is on point, just what you expect from a such high profile actor.

The world building of Quantum realm is gorgeous. Good camera work & direction. The action scenes are good but the side characters are got shadowed.

Overall an one time watch. The movie has 2 post credit scenes and both are important for future.… Expand

Overall a good, enjoyable Marvel movie. Much better than the latest iterations of Thor, Doctor Strange and such. Doesn't reach the heights of the greatest superhero movies, but worth to watch, unlike recent movies.

Really enjoyed Scott, Cassie and Hank in this they have a lot of fun moments, not Hope and Janet tho all there stuff just seems forced and i didn't care for it, on top of that pretty much every thing Janet does makes things worst for everyone.

Certes il n'est pas exempt de défaut, exemple un MODOK totalement Useless, des facilités scénaristiques misent en place, des combats pas dingue, etc...

Mais au final, Ant Man sont des films de transition/présentation pour la suite du MCU, Ant Man 1 -> Civil War, Ant Man 2 => Endgame, et là le 3 c'est pour Avengers The Kang Dynasty...

Il faut donc le prendre comme il est, un film de présentation, il n'est pas là pour être au niveau d'un Black Panther 2, Endgame, Doctor Strange 2, etc... Avec ce film on est censé être diverti et prendre du plaisir en découvrant quelques choses...

Ici on y découvre donc l'univers quantique, Kang, que Cassy va devenir une héroine, etc... Toutes ces mises en places sont là pour l'avenir... Et sont pour moi bien mise en place, Cassy parait faible et c'est normal, elle a peut etre le costume que depuis peu et n'a pas l'expérience du combat que son père a... Pour Kang on y découvre 1 Kang, celui précédemment teasé, et l'acteur le joue à la perfection, et introduit parfaitement la Dynastie Kang ! Et le monde et très bien fait je trouve, biensur toute chose peut etre mieu faible, la perfection n'existe pas, mais franchement j'ai trouvé certains plan très beau...

Quelques prises de liberté par rapport aux comics qui nous montre bien qu'on est dans un univers différent de celui des comics

En bref, ce film ne vaut pas le Top10/15 du MCU, sur ca tout le monde est d'accord je pense... Mais c'est un bon divertissement, sympa à regarder, et qui rempli bien son rôle...

Pour moi, ce n'est donc pas un film mauvais ou moyen, mais un bon film, j'hésitais entre 6 et 7, j'aurai bien mis 6.5 mais pas possible donc vu que la moyenne est à 6.1 je met 7 car il mérite plus que cette moyenne

Et c'est pour moi le meilleur des 3 films Ant Man, auquel j'aurai mis un 6 au 1er, et un 5 au 2nd, donc le 7 n'est pas un si mauvais choix… Expand

Am i missing something? I feel like this is the best thing that has happened in the last 2 years from marvel. The last 3/4 of phase 4 was horrible. This was a relief. I think the harsh criticism is too much for this movie. The MCU has some mixed movies but I don't think this movie deserves less than a five. Some tone issues as well as character arcs not present. Kang is a fantastic villain I hope to see more of.

Typical Marvel fare supposedly a start for Phase 5. Paul Rudd is great as usual as well as the rest of the casts, and kudos to Jonathan Majors as Kang. Paul Rudd and Johnathan Majors, unfortunately, can not save this film from being a star wars junk fest trying to savor a satisfactory intro to Phase 5. Michelle Phifer is a scene stealer, but Micheal Douglas feels old and tired trying to fit into a bubbly world. Evangeline Lily is boring and feels very stand-in for priceless action. Johnathan Majors is an interesting Villian and I'm excited to watch his progression as a show stopper he steals every line every dialogue every chunk of the film and the story shapes around his safe goat. Kathryn Newton is kind of the blandest and most mundane part she soils her part by running and blanky yelling "Dad!" with deadpan emotions. Corey Stoll returns as his character Darren and plays the goofy CGI MODOK who doesn't do much but lives to die not being "a dick" kind of lame. The film ends with a Creed showcase as he beats the absolute **** out of Paul Rudd. The Ending of this film plays as sitcom as before but the wonderment of victory fills in the air which leads us to believe it isn't over. the mid-credit sequence features three weirds looking Kang's talking about the conqueror they banished and the branched timelines they summon the council of Kang's, and the ending credits is a loki season 2 teaser with another Kang Varient called VICTOR TIMELY! my review is something positive this film is a 6.7/10 it's a mesh between Star Wars and Marvel although it isn't a perfectly good story it's a fun roller coaster that sets up the grander scheme of this crazy cinematic universe… Expand

So, the Ant Man movies have always been more small in scale, so hearing that they would be making Ant Man and The Wasp Quantumania would be bigger in scale, I was worried. While I didn't love it, this was still a fun as hell time. While I didn't love it, this was still a fun as hell time. It has it's problems and issues, but I couldn't stay mad at it. First of, Jonathan Majors was a stand out. His performance was great and he completely stole the show. The action and comedy, while it definitely took a nosedive, isn't horrible. The CGI was... ehh. MODOK especially looked really bad. Yeah, I had a lot of hype for this one after seeing the trailers and was disappointed, but I can't say I had a bad time. It was fun, but not much more. Also VEB, the guy with no holes, was MVP.… Expand

Loved the first ant man film, but this third installment was more like a CGI-heavy Star Wars knockoff. I did not enjoy this movie. It is the weakest entry into the series. Too much CGI and the story is average. I think what makes me dislike this movie the most is MODOK. I think MODOK just look stupid. This character spoiled entire movie for me.

Watched this on Disney+ in the last week of May. The premise felt like it would have been better for an Avengers movie or a Iron Man movie. Ant-Man/Scott Lang was not a good choice for this story. The villain Kang finally got a good representation in this movie compared to how he was shown previously in a Disney MCU TV series. However this movie kind of ruined his reputation as he was contending against Ant-Man where it felt like he should have faced the Avengers.

Scott Lang's daughter recast was not a good choice, her acting was a bit off and the character personality was really off putting. Overall, it is the worst movie of the Ant-Man trilogy - just another addition to the pile of B-Tier level movie quality releases post Endgame.… Expand

This one goes the opposite way: the Quantum realm is now a galaxy, far far away (yes, everything is star wars like over there), and Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly's roles is reduced to one liners. Paul Rudd is still, mostly, the heart of the movie, but the actress that portrays his daughter lacks any charisma, and her path from a little girl into the next super-hero is a bit unclear.

Michelle Pfeiffer and Jonathan Majors are the only interesting characters in the movie, although I'm still not sure what are Kang's motives.

It's not a terrible movie, and a two hours run time makes the chaos easier to digest, but at the end, pretty forgettable.… Expand

Like the one of the mother never talking about the realm or Kang. that makes no sens. And suddenly, you can breath in that realm. Murray is a glorified cameo. The acting is unequal. The best one is Kang actor and by far. Mordok was just poor, in terms of the who, the how. The humour is almost absent. I missed Luis and his gang. The CGI is nice, but of course, is done in a dark setting from beginning to end. Better rendering time I guess, but it didn't help to clarify the scenes and the actions. The music is good, and the sounds really decent. I give it 62%. A CGI fest with a lot of holes in the story. For me the weakest of the Ant-man.… Expand

The adventures of Ant-Man and the Wasp continue in the thirty-first instalment of Marvel Cinematic Universe as the first movie of Phase 5 where they journey into the Quantum Realm once again to face an adversary they have never encounter before.

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Rudd) have become a local hero and celebrity due to his role of saving the world alongside the Avengers while happily living with his new girlfriend, Hope van Dyne/Wasp (Lilly). Unfortunately, his relationship with his daughter, Cassie Lang, have become strained because her political activities have caused trouble with the law enforcement.

While visiting Hank and Janet Pym, Cassie reveal to everyone that she created a device that can establish contact in the Quantum Realm. Upon hearing that, Janet tries to shut down the device but something from the Quantum Realm have received the signal from her device and all five of them got suck into a portal leading into the Quantum Realm.

Upon arrival, Scott and Cassie are separate from Hope and her parents. On Hope’s side, they meet an ally of Janet, whom she met during her time being stuck in the Quantum Realm. Her ally told them that the Quantum Realm have changed a lot ever since she indirectly helped an exiled traveler called Kang the Conqueror (Majors) to rise to power where he now rule with iron fist while attempting to find a way to leave the realm. Scott and Cassie have to reunite with Hope and her parents to put a stop to Kang before his plan succeed.

Unlike the last two Ant-Man movies, I find this movie is nothing special or significant. This movie is just an introduction of a new villain and hero in order to setup future instalments especially Avengers movies in this new saga called Multiverse Saga. In terms of the plot, it is simple and straightforward. Nothing too convoluted.

Adding on to nothing significant about this movie, Kang the Conqueror does not have anything unique and interesting to make him stand out from other past villains. Although, I suspect that the filmmakers is saving the uniqueness of this character for the upcoming Avengers movies since he is setup to be the poster villain of this saga like Thanos.

For the performance, the cast have done very well just like the other MCU movies especially Jonathan Majors. However, I felt Cassie Cage does not have much character developement. I am disappointed that Michael Peña, T.I. and David Dastmalchian are not in the movie because they have done a great job in providing comic relief moments in the previous movies. Speaking of comic relief, this movie does not really have much. The CGI in this movie is great which is what I pretty much expected for a movie set in another dimension.

Overall, I would this movie is sequalitis. But still, it is not too bad to the point of being unwatchable. Despite not being a great movie, I would still recommend this movie since I believe this movie must be watch as it may serve as a backstory for future Avengers movie. Be sure to stay back for a mid-credits and post credits scenes.… Expand

A lot of harsh reviews. I will try to be fair. The film isn't a 0, but it's not a 10 either. I think it's a fair 6.

I am a big fan of Ant-Man, and I like most of the MCU content generally. This here is a decent MCU film, a great newA lot of harsh reviews. I will try to be fair. The film isn't a 0, but it's not a 10 either. I think it's a fair 6.

I am a big fan of Ant-Man, and I like most of the MCU content generally. This here is a decent MCU film, a great new expansion of Ant-Man lore, and the introduction (or re-introduction) of an exciting new character.

That being said, I found some parts of the story to be more difficult to digest. Janet works hard to justify herself in how she never bothered to tell everyone about "The Conqueror". And the Conqueror himself sure explains a lot about his multiversal conflict. This is of course the MCU talking to us, the audience, through this film. But i find this sort of thing more and more obvious, and it makes the film feel less like an Ant-Man film, and more about a "what you need to know about" film. It's like the movie is retconning itself sometimes. This is nothing new for recent MCU content, they do that more and more. But for an Ant-Man film, it's a bit disappointing.

The movie is also set 95% in the Quantum Realm, where almost everything is CGI. To me it looked great, but I won't argue against someone with the opposite opinion. CGI landscapes can feel grand, just like they can feel empty. They can look fake, or beautiful. Sometimes it's both.

I am also a fan of Modok, generally speaking. I liked seeing this version of him in the film, and I enjoyed the explanation behind it. But I feel like it's a bit of a waste. The movie would be the same without him, basically.

I felt a bit confused at the end of the film however. Perhaps i was a bit tired, but near the end I felt like i had missed a scene and suddenly it was ending. I don't want to give too many spoilers, so I cannot say too much.… Expand

Best Ant-Man Movie, pretty good star-wars movie, but below average Marvel movie. Visually it looks very nice. There are so many "get into position for a poster" scenes. · Cosas malas: como ya dije, demasiado CGI para mi gusto, aunque es buen CGI. MODOK no me convenció en absoluto, casi que metido con calzador. Ant-Man para presentar toda esta nueva fase puede que le venga grande.

Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror is menacing and terrific, he brings many layers to his character, and this is pivotal seeing as he's Marvel's next big bad. Paul Rudd and Michelle Pfeiffer also excel in their roles. The visuals are also well-done.

The biggest issue with this movie is the plot. The characters don't develop, it's just like a singular occurrence at the end, like a bad dream, and nothing is produced from it save the conglomeration of Kangs. The humour is also lacking, it's sparse and when it's infused it's always wrongly timed.

I hope phase 5 can move on smoothly from the spearhead of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.… Expand

It was just so poorly made. The first half had some good moments, but the CGI and dialogues were horrible. I was so disappointed by King and Cassie, they were so horrible! However, there were some memorable characters like Veb, and some scenes looked visually awesome (like barely 2-3 scenes). I mean the acting was so bad, although I really liked Janet, there were too many characters and too many plot holes. Overall, it was a huge sludge. Quite boring, less humorous and honestly, disappointing since I had high high hopes for this movie. The post credit scene (1) was amazing, even the last one was quite cool. If I had to sum it up, it's more like a poorly produced children's movie with a low budget. The only reason why I gave it a 6/10 is because of some cool characters like Veb, the post credits scene, the initial scenes in the beginning (exploration of the Quantum realm, and Hope/Janet. It's visually awesome to look at but I didn't feel invested at all. Like Multiverse of Madness, the leads aren't given the central attention especially Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp. Paul Rudd is great as Antman but he is also buried under so many other things going on. The rebels on the Quantum Realm was okay but they were an unnecessary inclusion because it Antman and the Wasp I thought needed more development time for development. I thought Jonathan Majors as Kang was good but I wasn't as crazy about him like everyone else. I thought the best parts were the scenes with Michelle Pfeiffer and Kang. I also thought her and Michael Douglas looked amazing in the film and Hank Pym had some really funny lines. I enjoyed the first act alot more than the latter half especially the Bill Murray scene. I really hope the next MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will be a knockout.… Expand

Enfin un Marvel qui tient ses promesses !!!

Very alright, I get what their trying to set up with Kang being the new big bad of the MCU but it seems like these movies lack a little derection as it's split of into many different solo projects. was hoping that this being the 1st movie of phase 5 it would put it more on rails but I do think overall this movie purely only builds Kang and no other character. Hell the main duo of Ant man and cassie just was lost as Kang steals the show and while being father and daughter they lack that connection. Overall just alright, wished they didn't waste Modok though… Expand

Decent film nothing out of this world. Connects this movie with what will be the up and coming movies in the mcu. The third ant-man film was okay not as bad as the 2nd one but doesn't strike nearly as hard as the third, definitely better than most of phase and is an okay start to phase 5.

Without going into any spoilers i can say that it would be something to wait for until it releases on disney+ as it's not worth the price of a ticket to see.

Kang is amazing in the film and brings great energy to the film overall.

The comedy however falls flat on it's face as it struggles to bring a smile nevermind a laugh. This was in strong part due to the absence of Scots ex con associates as they do not appear in the movie at all and are never mentioned again.

As for end credit scenes there is two however the 2nd one is simply a trailer for loki season 2 which i'm sure you can find on youtube. I would only recomend staying for the first scene and then leaving the theatre.

overall a 6/10 no more as it simply doesn't deserve it but it's nowhere near as bad as the eternals.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hey guys, I just caught "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and to be honest, it was just okay. But let me tell you, Jonathan Majors absolutely killed it as Kang! He was so amazing that I can't wait to see more of him in future Marvel movies.

The story was kind of convoluted and all over the place, and it just didn't hit the same levels of excitement and innovation as some of the recent Marvel hits. But hey, it still had plenty of action, laughs, and that classic Marvel charm.

I gotta say, the chemistry between the lead characters was still going strong. And they did a great job of incorporating the Quantum Realm into the plot, which was a really unique element.

Overall, if you're a big Marvel fan like me, you'll still enjoy "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." It may not be the best in the franchise, but it's definitely worth a watch for Jonathan Majors' standout performance as Kang. Can't wait to see what he brings to the table in future MCU films!… Expand

What I thought was missing: the cast from the two previous films like Scott Lang's crew, his ex-wife and even her new husband. Also, a bit more time outside of the Quantum Realm because, even though the visuals and the designs of the realm are impressive, the movie becomes overloaded with the typical "green screen", CGI background. The technology has come a long way, but it's not perfect yet. Actors still somewhat stand out against the background giving it a minor "fake" vibe. What I liked: Some of the combat scenes are interesting and some set pieces as well aside from the usual charm of most of the actors. What I didn't like: 1 - Kang falls flat. He's not menacing or nuanced and the actor, who many people are hyping up, to me, is competent, but I didn't see anything impressive on screen. I wasn't "fooled into thinking I was seeing a multiversal threat", the illusion was broken, because I was simply seeing an actor "doing acting stuff, using acting techniques", you know what I mean?; 2 - The humor: didn't work for me most of the time. Don't know if I was desensitized at the time, but I didn't burst out laughing. I can say I had at most minor chuckles when I "recognized" a joke sometimes. But fear not; it doesn't make the same mistake as Love and Thunder by going 100 jokes a minute. In sum: not a great start for phase 5, but I wouldn't say Marvel Fans or Regular moviegoers should necessarily skip it you can still have a reasonably good time. This is not She-Hulk, which yes, you should definitely skip.… Expand

It was decent, Rudd and Lilly did a great job w antman/wasp. Majors crushed it as Kang the Conqueror. But there was no steaks at all, and problems were purposely not solved to strech out the plot. Recently, Marvel is not doing well, I was falling asleep in the middle of the movie, but I liked the scene after the second credits.

This film is not too good or too bad. This is a okay superhero film. Kang is the main highlight and he is just alright and that's the best part of the film. I had low expectations going into this one. Following the mediocre reception, it was beginning to receive online, coupled with the fact that the MCU has been slowly but steadily declining and quality ever since the Infinity Saga ended, and my doubts and fears proved entirely correct, cause this was average in every way imaginable. Underwhelming story, cringey dialogue from beginning to end, hideous visual effects that simply can't be appreciated, especially in the wake of the newest 'Avatar', the list goes on and on. Rudd's his usual charming self here, and Lilly, Pfeiffer, and Douglas are both enjoyable to watch once again. Even Newton as Scott's daughter Cassie manages to hold her own pretty well here. Even Bill Murray drops in for a brief cameo in one scene, but it simply feels wasted when all's said and done. The real MVP here is Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, whose character is set up in a very major way, especially during the two post-credit scenes. He gives a raw and totally solid performance that stands out better than anyone else in the film does. Unfortunately, not even this likable cast can save a lacking story with ugly visuals that I truly wish I never have to bear witness to again. Overall, it's unfortunately yet another step backwards for the MCU, and I truly feel as though it's golden days are well behind it.… Expand

Paul Rudd is funny up to a point because his humorous skills only go so far and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has put him to the test because while you can blame it on the script and the directing, I think it's more than proven that he's already gone as far as he can go, and I doubt there's more to do for him on this franchise.

This third installment of Ant-Man is colorful and fun. Another entry with more of the familiar Marvel Studios fare, but this is where you can already tell they're starting to hit a wall that they're being unable to climb over, and as the saying goes, all's well that ends well.
This is entertainment that doesn't do anything else beyond the time you're going to be sitting in the movie theater.

Kevin Feige has already shown his plan for the next three years, but the MCU has lost steam and I'm not quite sure what its future will look like heading into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.

The weight of this film's existence lies in putting Kang into perspective in a way that Loki was unable to.
The plot itself has no major relevance to other events. In fact, the real weight of Kang's entrance lies in the mid-credits scene, as Marvel did surprise me there by making the introduction of the council of Kangs so early with the appearances of Immortus and Rama-Tut, characters who I honestly didn't expect to see so early.
And that's pretty much the film's offering.

Also, we're in the fifteenth year of the MCU. So, you know very well where you stand. The ''This is not cinema'' argument is getting tiresome.… Expand

It was a little surprising to hear that Ant-Man 3 would have bigger stakes as I didn't find this to suit the character. Is this a good entry for the little guy or quantum garbage?

The greatest highlight of this film is the antagonist, Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors. Kang is fearsome and menacing with a terrific performance by Jonathan that reminds me of Darth Vader. He steals the show in every scene, to the point that I was actually rooting for him. I am also glad that his performance is vastly different to the variant we saw in the Loki (2021) show. I can't wait to see more of Kang in the future! In terms of performance, I also enjoyed seeing more of Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. She was barely in the second Ant-Man film but here she is front and centre. She shines in her performance and perfectly illustrates the guilt and fear her character is experiencing. Paul Rudd is still charming and charismatic as Scott Lang. His relationship with his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton) is still the main core of his character. We get to see 'some' serious moments with his character which was nice to see.

Another thing I liked was the overall design of the Quantum Realm. The world and the living beings in the Quantum Realm were interesting. It had a very Star Wars/Mad Max feel to it with the blend of sci-fi, deserts and alien-like creatures. The 3rd act of the movie is also quite entertaining. For the most part, it's a giant CGI battle with lots of things happening on screen but it is fun to watch. I especially loved seeing Kang in action because we get to see how much of a beast he is compared to previous villains. However, the writing is very weak. There are a lot of silly dialogues that just made me roll my eyes. It doesn't help that for some reason Marvel is still doing forced unnecessary humour. If this story is meant to be higher stakes then make it serious! The quips get overly repetitive. The first half is a little dull too with minimal interesting things happening. It doesn't take until over halfway through the movie to actually see Kang. Additionally, the ending was disappointing. It is very bland and safe which is a shame as this film could've delivered a shocking and memorable ending. This movie is also meant to build up hype for the next Avengers film but that ending fails to do even that. MODOK is also in this film and it is a pointless addition. Not only do they change the character completely from their comic counterpart, but their role in the story is also absolutely irrelevant. Could take them out of the story and nothing will change. Despite the film being called Ant-Man and the Wasp, both Scott Lang and Hope feel like side characters in their own film. They have no character development and are just kind of there for the ride. Janet is more of a main character than them. I also don't like this trend in these recent Marvel films of Marvel characters looking out for these young characters. Cassie is the next in this trend and is also an annoying character like many of them before. I think Kathryn Newton is fine in her role but her character just isn't written well to be likeable enough for me to care. This is also a very CGI-heavy film and for the most part, it is okay but there are definitely times when it looks rough. The editing, especially during action sequences, can be really bad. They tend to do too many quick cuts during action sequences and for some reason use the shaky cam in 2023!

Overall, Ant-Man 3 is a bit disappointing. There was a lot of potential for this to be something great but the execution is quite poor. This isn't a great start to Phase 5 and I am getting worried about the future of the MCU. They need to do a better job at making people hyped for the next Avengers-level threat as this film isn't making me think this is a threat equal to or better than Thanos. I'm hoping future Marvel films start building up this new threat because they need to show us that this new threat is worthy of our attention.… Expand

"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" was...... Mid.

And I say that, going into this Marvel film with the utmost enthusiasm: I was hoping for an exciting start to phase 5 since we had such a dim and unfocused phase 4, but instead, we open"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" was...... Mid.

And I say that, going into this Marvel film with the utmost enthusiasm: I was hoping for an exciting start to phase 5 since we had such a dim and unfocused phase 4, but instead, we open with a whimper for this newest phase. Using Ant-Man to start off phase 5 seemed like a very interesting and safe choice as this was more of a “Marvel kick off” film than it was an actual “Ant-Man” film, if that makes sense.

The first noticeable issue with this film was in the visual effects. While there were a lot of cool and fun ideas, it’s clear that the visual effects weren’t given ample time to be worked in properly. Like most Marvel films with this issue, the visuals reflect how rushed and overworked the VFX teams are for these movies, being given little time to work properly. We were given a new character who came out looking worse than Mr. Electric from 2005’s “Sharkboy and Lavagirl.” I don’t know if making them look like that was intentional, but even if it was intentional… It still looked terrible. It seems like the visual effects in Marvel films are showing more and more fatigue similar to my ever-growing MCU fatigue.

Most of the performances were decent, though, said performances are weakened by the biggest most annoying issue with current Marvel movies which is the seemingly obsessive need to make every character a quippy-kooky-quirkster, and stuffing humor into scenes where humor doesn't belong. This phenomenon seems to be getting worse and worse with each piece of Marvel media that is released. I think “Quantumania” would have been better if there wasn’t so much forced, sitcomy humor undercutting all the action and drama… It just gets in the way. However, the main spot where this movie gets ANY real clean praise at all, would be with Jonathan Majors performance as Kang: My dude delivered in every aspect especially when compared to other performances (Kathryn Newton was lookin’ kinda stiff out there) and being this films saving grace. Kang was big and menacing and even a bit sympathetic at some points, establishing himself as a solid antagonist for the MCU.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" isn’t a bad movie, but boy-howdy, is it underwhelming. Watching events unfold in this film was like watching someone play a videogame on easy mode for the first 2/3 until the last 1/3 of the film where the pause button is pushed, and the difficulty setting is switched to hard mode only because the steaks had to be higher because it was the end of the movie. If this is how we're starting a MCU phase, then I'm kinda worried for the rest of Phase 5 and Phase 6. Hopefully things pick up a bit in the next few shows/movies.

5/10, the score would be lower had it not been for Jonathan Majors’ performance as Kang.… Expand

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is one of the most disappointing movies I've seen in quite a while and isn't very good as an Ant-Man film or as a beginning to a new phase for the MCU especially after the disastrous Phase 4. Despite my overall disappointment of this movie, the movie is not a total disaster and there are some redeeming qualities of this film in the end. Easily the first positive I can say is that it looks so beautiful and never loses that beauty throughout the film. The action is not bad and can MOSTLY be entertaining. The soundtrack is also not that bad and there's not really any bad music here that messes with your immersion. But definitely the best part of this film are the performances as they all excellent across the board ESPECIALLY Johnathon Majors on his role of Kang the Konqueror. Unfortunately, that's all the positives I can say because there are SO MANY NEGATIVES here sadly. M.O.D.O.K is severely underutilized here and the reveal on who he is EVEN more stupid than I thought since it's supposed to be reminiscent of the first film. Now to be clear, I don't mind Cassie being recast here, but the problem I have is that her writing is INSUFFERABLE and her performance doesn't help matters either. The story is not great and is mostly forgettable due to the weak writing and how apparently one of the characters had some secrets during the end of the second film, but that was never hinted in the second film making it feel like they totally forgot to do that in the second film. The CGI is BEYOND HORRIBLE meaning this movie was rushed out the gate and it makes me feel bad for the animators who weren't given enough time to properly polish the CGI. But easily the worst part about this film, is primarily how this isn't an Ant-Man film; what I mean about this is how what made Ant-Man and arguably Scott unique don't even matter because you could legit replace Ant-Man with anybody else and it wouldn't have made a difference which considering this movie had Ant-Man in the title, that's one of the worst failings of this movie. Overall, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is easily the worst start to an MCU phase ever and I'm extremely disappointed as both an Ant-Man and an MCU fan but credit where it's due, it's still got some great moments that don't make this movie totally unwatchable but not enough to save it as a whole. Overall, if you want to watch Kang in action especially after the Loki TV show, I can recommend it, but Ant-Man fans should stay away from this.… Expand

A 2 hour Kang trailer, the CGI was not the worst I've ever seen but more consistently frustrating cause its in every shot of the movie. The Darren/MODOK stuff was ?????.

No. Best part of the movie is when Hank Pym sees someone that looks like broccoli…I’ll leave it at that.

The movie is not as good as i accept, they didn't plot the character of kang properly, post credit scene doesn't match any reference that can be expected in future, i personally go to watch kang not ant man so, ya this is antman movie so any how he has to win in the end but Marvel needed to understand they can't sell so typical story in near future, i mean why even kang bother to kill jannet when he see her Fu*k, they ruin my favourite villian, power of kang are not explained properly, one time he use time to stop jannet but at other time he is using hand to hand fight with antman, in which antman being a thief show some real powerful punches to kang, which i think doesn't make any sense because kang is almost a Million year old guy how can someone like antman can puch him, he must had some really bad fight in past then how can ant man can even hit him, power of kang is ruined by writer I will recommend not to watch in theatre, waste of money, but one thing i like is Jonathan major role, he has done his job very properly, all my 5 rating is just for him

They're good, but they aren't great for sure. The characters aren't compelling in the slightest. Janet is just the worst character, being super cryptic for absolutely stupid reasons. Hope and Scott barely do anything, and even HANK DOES NOTHING IN THIS MOVIE! Kang was great. The acting was good but the character just had some stupid moments. He was so powerful in some scenes but then you see him almost getting killed BY ANTS! Like this whole movie just feels like Marvel was like "what if we make the dumbest plot ever!" I get that they were a bit rushed in making this movie. Disney has been nailing them hard to get stuff out. But why is the plot so rushed and why is the story so awful!… Expand

I remember the hype and buildup to this film; the media frenzy over the outrageously fantastic performance of Jonathon Majors. I didn't know what to expect, considering the news/entertainment media machine is essentially just 100% propagandaI remember the hype and buildup to this film; the media frenzy over the outrageously fantastic performance of Jonathon Majors. I didn't know what to expect, considering the news/entertainment media machine is essentially just 100% propaganda now. I don't care that Majors has been accused of assault...I am completely putting that aside. The bottom line is that his performance in this film was awful. It was childish, stupid, over the top, took me out of the film, and at times it was incredibly boring.

When I am watching a great actor, one of the hallmarks of that experience is that I totally get lost in the performance. While watching great acting, you typically forget that you're watching a film, you just feel like you are watching a person experiencing something. It is only after the film or the moment that you think back and say "Wow, that was great acting". However, when I was watching Majors' "Kang" performance, I constantly was thinking about his acting; I constantly was reminding myself that I am watching a man act a part. His facial expressions were stilted and bizarre.....his mouth was moving every which way. It was just awful. I now feel the need to go watch "Creed III" and find out if this was deliberate or if the man really is just a crap actor.

Anyway, the film itself was subpar and mostly it was very stupid. I immediately was put off by Scott Lang's weak parental role. Right off the bat, his daughter goes to jail and he is such a weak father, he is afraid to even tell her that she made a mistake. Then, we are forced to listen to his family make fun of him for being proud of himself for SAVING THE UNIVERSE. I had a revelation at some point that the writers of this film are speaking through Scott's teenage daughter. They literally have the same politics, ideology, morals, and humor of the teenage girl. I'm pretty sure the audience is intended to side with Scott's adolescent daughter on most of their arguments. Which is totally absurd. Scott should have grounded the hell out of his daughter; taking away her phone, car, Pym suit, and everything else. SCOTT, BEING A DAD ISN'T THE SAME AS BEING A FRIEND!

God, Disney is such a mess. The messaging of this film is so dumb/damaging and it really does feel like it was written by a bunch of teenagers. I had fun at times to be sure, it wasn't a complete bust. But this film doesn't hold up against the first installment, let alone the second. Disney Marvel has to make some serious changes because if they don't....this whole Marvel train is going off a cliff. Frankly, the train may already have flown off the cliff and is now currently in freefall.

PS: The "Don't be a dick" joke, if we can call it that, was total cringe. Absolutely ridiculous that dialogue like that made it past editing. It really cemented my belief that the creators all have adolescent brains. And by adolescent, I mean under developed. PPS: Janet not mentioning Kang and the threat he poses to the universe is just pure lunacy. Another plot point that I can't believe made it past editing.… Expand

So, in my opinion, the best Marvel movies so far have always been the ones that don’t take themselves too seriously - but Antman 3 kinda fails to do that. It tries very hard to deliver a big epic finale to the Antman trilogy, but given the recent introduction of the Multiverse in the MCU, the stakes have never felt lower; and they were already pretty low, since this is HOLLYWOOD BABY and no one can die, unless the merchandise stops selling! It tries to be fun and different, but fails most of the time; mostly due to some seriously cheesy jokes, terrible performances, an over-reliance on CGI and one of the most by-the-number scores of any Marvel movie ever. Not even the most ridiculous movie villain in history, Modok, manages to leave any kind of impression. It felt mostly like a mediocre 90s sci-fi movie, with a very conveluted, boring plot, and waaaaaaaaaaay too much subpar visual effects (especially Modok, who looks nothing like the actor he’s supposed to resemble).
Kang The Conqueror returns from Loki and delivers the best performance of the cast, but that’s not saying much. His character is still explained poorly, and especially his end-credits scene was cringe worthy. He makes for a much less intimidating foe than Thanos did, in the previous saga of movies, and even though I’ve read a fair amount of comics, I still have no idea what he’s trying to do in the MCU, or why he’s doing it. Not even Gregg Turkington’s cameo or the tie-in to his fake movie review show “Gregg Turkington’s Our Cinema At The Cinema Starring Tim Tiedecker”, can save this mess of a movie. The best parts are a couple of silly creature designs + the few scenes that wasn’t filmed in front of a blue screen; here, the actors feel more comfortable (maybe because they actually have an idea about what’s going on).

Worst part of the movie though, is how it completely fails to utilize it’s main characters and their powers; the shrinking/supersizing. There are a few scenes with it here and there, but it’s used inconsistently and doesn’t introduce any new cool ideas into the action, like the previous movies managed to do.
Sure, there are some kaiju-like fight sequences and a couple of big ants, but at this point, we’ve seen it all before. The steam is really running out of the Marvel engine, and Antman 3 is another nail in this slowly sinking coffin.… Expand

I’m not hating on Paul Rudd. I think he was a refreshing addition to the MCU. All of the usual Marvel elements are present in a rather mundane package. The fight sequences lack any originality or even interesting staging. The production design features some cool creatures and environments, but they feel like references to the aforementioned Disney flick and the Avatar films. The one thing that usually helps set this series apart is Rudd's offhand comic charms, which are also in short supply this time. I feel like it was very similar to x-men 3 in many ways. And I'm noticing ways in which all mcu films are going and a certain 'formula' or set of rules that is really making the films suffer. Ooooh, so the quantum realm just looks and behaves like an alien planet... That's real interesting and unexpected and totally worth two hours of my time. Holy **** this movie was gif awful and good sign to kick off Phase 5 . Bad dialogue terrible jokes terrible CGI . But what do expect at this point. Formulaic, predictable and boring. MCU definitely peaked with Infinity War and has been going downhill since. If this is how Phase 5 is they may as well stop for a while and give the franchise a rest for a while.

4. The same exact CGI action sequences that are in every other Marvel movie for the last decade.

While I wouldn't say it's a completely bad movie, it is sub-par (right under average), and it is a one time watch only. I'll be waiting until this one is on deep sale on 4k just because I want it for my collection. Super glad I didn't waste money on this at the theater. Thank goodness for free torrents. These crappy Disney/Marvel movies do not deserve my money, nor yours, at the theater.

Oh, I have to stress again how bad Kang is as a villain. And actually I need to lower my score from a 4 to a 3 because of how much I absolutely do not care about Kang returning in any Marvel movie, ever. I pity the fool who will go see Ant-Man 4 or whichever movie has Kang.… Expand

There are a lots of plot holes in this film and a lot that they just changed and presumed you wouldn't notice or will maybe explain it 3 years down the line with some ridiculous explanation. Tbh all these new films thor blackpanter doctor strange just make the old film shine even more. Some positives I didn't think the cgi was that terrible, we get to see hank as a hero again. However Evangeline Lilly was terrible not overly her fault for them cutting all her hair off making her look about 50 and then giving her lead screen time instead of Scott, found myself sighing alot when we had 3 sidekick actors at best trying to take the lead in the film. Looking forward to kang....if we keep the actor or politics will get in the way. Hopefully soon marvel will get back to making real superhero films for people.… Expand
