    Loved the original, finished singleplayer 3 times (PS3 and PS4), multiplayer was absolutely amazing, one of best multiplayer modes. Why is multiplayer gone from remake is beyond me. Also there's no discount for owners of the PS4 remaster. I am not paying $70 for a game I already paid for 2 times and it lacks multiplayer. BIG disappointment.

    I give it a 1, for just the core. But the game is a pure cash grab, as it does not change the fundamental gameplay in any meaning way. Yes, this is a remaster, not a remake. However, Sony would like to deceive you into thinking they did a ton of work to warrant the full $69 price tag.

    This wouldn't be an issue if they offered a discounted price for those that already owned previous    I give it a 1, for just the core. And they didn't do that for a specific reason, and that's to force you to have only one option; to pay full price once again.     For 70 bucks I was expecting the gameplay mechanics of the last of us part 2 reworked for the last of us part 1. Like the ability to go prone and the 3 different stages of enemy AI. This is just an overpriced remaster. The graphics aren't that much better than the original. . Wait for a sale

    The Last Of Us Part 1, to put it simply, is a cash grab to try and bank on the nostalgia of the oldest fans of this franchise. Even though Neil Druckmann assures that this is a Remake, I can confidently say that it is not. It is the exact same as the 2013 release, with missing content (The multiplayer) that costs more than the original.

    Although the graphics do look nice, they're just    The Last Of Us Part 1, to put it simply, is a cash grab to try and bank on the nostalgia of the oldest fans of this franchise.     Although the graphics do look nice, they're just graphics. They don't define what a great, or even a masterpiece of a video game should be. It should be the gameplay and how it's played, and compared to TLoU P2, it is a complete downgrade. That game introduced the prone mechanic and the the dodge mechanic, both that are removed from the this game. The reason for a "remake" is to improve upon the original game, by upgrading the game with modern gameplay mechanics, like the Resident Evil 2 Remake. That game deserves a remake because the original game released more then 2 decades ago and do not compare to the games for today's standards.

    Not only that, but I'm 90% sure that the HUD and the icons are just a lazy port from TLoU P2. The icon for Abby's pistol is the exact same as Joel's pistol.

    That being said, you can experience the exact same game with more content on the PS4 release, which is conveniently available for the PS5 as well. If you're reading this, I highly recommend you buy that version instead.    … Expand

    I can't rly put in words how much ND disappointed me the last years.
    I've been such a huge fan of the original game and of the Uncharted series. ND Was BY FAR my fav developers.I even thougt part 2 was an ok game w fun mechanics.

    Original TLOU it's one of the best games ever, played it several times on ps3 and ps4, i don't wanna play it again even for free, but 70$ for literally the same game, yes, better graphics, so what? Where is the multiplayer? This is not a remake, it's a reremaster. Where is the fundamental upgrades like in RE2 remake? None, cashgrab, gg sony and ND. Keep up the good work.

    A blatant and shameless cash grab by Sony, nothing is improved other then the graphics. If your going to call yourself a remake then you'll be compared to other remakes and be held to the same standards as other remakes.

    No new levels/locations
    Same soundtrack
    No new bosses
    No new enemy's
    No new weapons

    Vendu comme un remake ce jeu est un inutile remaster vendu au prix fort 80 euros.
    Il n'y a eu que des modifications graphiques et technologiques sinon c'est une copie identique du remaster PS4. Même gameplay même IA mêmes gunfights pourris à la Uncharted mêmes cinématiques mêmes zones de jeu mêmes dialogues.
    Si vous possédez le remaster PS4 ça n'apportera rien de plus.

    Swing and a miss… Same game, minus some features, severely overpriced, and not at all a signal that any effort was put in to improve anything other than some textures and resolution. Honestly, this was an opportunity to reboot and check boxes that may have been missed before. Sony insists on unchecking boxes though.

    Updated assets, did a good job with the light. There is nothing new in the gameplay (and the gameplay is already old). But asking for 70 USD for this is too much. Discount for those who have already bought it (because it is an update no more). Plus it should go for free in PS Plus.

    I thought I'd wait to review this until I fully finished the story. Although in 2013 this game was truly amazing and like nothing that had come before it. It's now 2022 and games have moved on. the mechanic of this game, the combat, level design and general feel, is stuck firmly in the past. the remake isn't a remake at all. it had not been remade from the ground up like Naughty Dog claim.I thought I'd wait to review this until I fully finished the story. Although in 2013 this game was truly amazing and like nothing that had come before it. It's now 2022 and games have moved on. the mechanic of this game, the combat, level design and general feel, is stuck firmly in the past. the remake isn't a remake at all. it had not been remade from the ground up like Naughty Dog claim. it is 100% visual only. And for a full priced game, it's simply not worth it. My advice to new players is just to buy the last remaster and play that. you'll get the exact same experience and have enough money to go buy something else that really is worth the money. I'd say if you can pick this up for £20 then go for it. better still, just rent this game instead as its relatively short.
    I feel like Naughty dog should have redone all the animations, added some new sections to the levels, or even entirely new levels, anything new would have been appreciated. This is a pure cash grab in my opinion. The new TV show and the fact they barely had to do anything to "remake" the first game means that this experience really should be called "The Least of Us"
    If you want a true example of a remake look at Resident Evil 2, Mafia, Final Fantasy, these are all examples of a company that actually remade the game. Think of this as a £70 reskin.    … Expand

    The price isn't worth how little improvements were made over the original game. It took them half as much time to make this as it does for most companies to make a new game from the ground up. So I can't see why we should pay full price for a new coat of paint and some big fixes.

    Would have been fine a free/cheap upgrade from the previous version but no way worth a full price release. Hardly takes advantage of the PS5 and seems to be quick cash grab. If you never played this game then give it a go but if you have played before don't both with this.

    It’s a shame that this is the standard for today’s triple A. It’s the same game as many others but with fancy graphics and mediocre gameplay and engagement. It’s unfair and misleading for people who wants a challenge and gameplay mechanics that doesn’t feel as an excuse to stick together different cutscenes. As a film is a 8/10, but they are calling it a game

    Regardless of the game design you cannot separate the value/cost of a piece of art from its reception. The Last of Us Part 1 is the 3rd release of the game, and the most expensive. The upgrade isn't amazing, but it isn't bad. Nothing if you don't touch the original product at all and just import graphics from part II.     Some time ago there was a good game called the last of us, then they sold us a remaster for ps4, then they ruined the series with part two and then they adjusted the story so that part 2 was not incongruous with part one and they want to sell us back to full price part one ruined, three times in a row the same game sony we are not your idiots

    My problem is the price, why would anyone pay $74.95 for a remastered 2013 game because the graphics are better? You could buy the original for $10.00, you pay for the gameplay not the graphics, if this isn’t corporate greed I don’t know what is.

    A remake of a remake of a once brilliant ps3 game. Let us not forget this is the same game TLOU2 tried its hardest to take a dump on ('deconstruct' if you're a hipster). You tried your hardest to destroy everything special about this game Mr Druckmann. Why would we pay for it yet again? Respect the people who buy your games.

    While I loved the last of us when it released for the PS3 and played the PS4 remaster where it still holds up to this day, The Remaster of the PS4 version for the PS5 is not worth the £70 price point!

    Perhaps the most overrated game of all time is now getting the most overrated and overpriced remake of all time. This isn't a AAA remake like Resident Evil 2 this is just a blatant cash grab with pay 2 win for buying the more expensive editions. Naughty Dog needs to learn some humility and dignity from developers like Capcom who give high quality next gen upgrades for free.

    As much as we love the skeleton, the way it’s been built upon here feels like a missed opportunity. The chance to incorporate Part II’s stellar gameplay evolutions into the original heart-wrenching story was there; had Naughty Dog taken it, it could have been a game-changer. Instead, this feels like an obligatory reshoot. Yes, it’s visually stunning (one of PS5’s best), and yes, things have been changed. But the end result? Too familiar. Neat extras are here, like a speedrun mode, behind the scenes videos, and commentary tracks – but we’d hoped for something bolder. [Issue#19, p.74]

    The original The Last of Us will always be my favourite PlayStation game. The narrative is amazing, the relationship between Joel and Ellie is wholesome and it all culminates into a satisfying story that will bring tears to your eyes. However, I do not recommend the remake. Even though there are extensive graphical enhancements, 60FPS support, DualSense support and a variety of accessibility options, none of this justifies the admission price. And, above all, there was really no need for this remake, the original is perfect as it is and available on PS Plus. Skip it and wait for a fat discount if you are keen to try it.
