    Amazing DLC, the world looks even more beautiful than the base game. Getting to use flight more is awesome and it's a good length for the price. Makes me exited for part 3

    Great DLC if you like horizon. It really adds to the game and while was a little shorter than expected it was still pretty great. New machines are interesting and the horus fight was cool.

    Horizon Forbidden West is one of my favorite games of all time, and the Burning Shores DLC is everything HFW was, and more. Can’t wait for the 3rd installment, brilliant game, and by far the most visually beautiful game i’ve ever played. The photo mode is a game in of itself, for me.

    A solid continuation of the game. New characters were great, new area was beautiful, new enemy was expected but still fun. New machines were awesome to fight, especially with the new weapon. Anyone surprised by [the reason for all the negative reviews] wasn’t paying attention to the character, the writing, or any of the story thus far and/or probably didn’t even play the games.

Never specified what her sensuality is and the relationship in this dlc is completely optional. That being said, it doesn't live up to the highs of the frozen wilds but for fans of the main Game, they do add enough in terms of content, weapons, and armor to justify the price tag. Still one of the best looking games on the ps5 and I'm looking forward to what Guerilla does next.… Expand

The detail of the environment and the quality of life changes that they've made with the seamless air to water transition is just amazing. Sekya is a wonderful addition to the horizon crew. I am so glad that her and Aloy are together. I can't wait to see what she brings to the fight with Nemesis

    Such a good DLC i would love play it again completely blind.
    I love the ideas they brought into the game and you can really see that they listened to the players because is in my opinion an even smoother experience than the main game.
    AND I LOVE THE ENDBOSS

    (Ignore Envious People's Review Bombing) Considering that Burning Shores is a DLC, it's a very entertaining games, the graphics looks even better than HZD2, improved Shaders and Lights, a great work for Guerrilla

    This is honestly a great continuation to Forbidden West with even more impressive graphics. However, this DLC has the same weak points of the base game; close combat feels off and everytime you get hit Aloy is stuck on the floor for far too long.

    Anyway, if you had fun with the base game you're gonna have some fun with its Burning Shores DLC too!

    Could of been a little longer and definitely didn't hit as hard as HZD DLC did but for the price this is truly a beautiful expansion and I suggest exploring everywhere. Playing that with VRR with an unlocked frame it's truly a next gen experience.

    O jogo dar continuidade a história de forma magnífica com um aprimoramento impecável dos gráficos, já o gameplay não muda muito em relação aos jogos anteriores. Só não vale um 10 por não ter disponibilidade para o Playstation 4. Todos mereciam ter essa experiência.

    It's definitely $20 worth of great content! 9 of 10 just because it feels like it was over fast. Interesting new traversal mechanics, a new unique weapon, and -completely consistent progression of Aloy's story and character development-. Disregard all the trash monsters 0'ing because they're regressive phobics, please.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. falo isso como um jogador que acabou de jogar o game, pois a experiência de jogar algo tão fantástico graficamente e mecanicamente é muito empolgante, claro a narrativa é curta até porque é uma DLC... mais desafio a qualquer um que tenha uma noção de jogos e não criticam só pra ganhar views que não existe um jogo tão bem feito onde ate os mobs são detalhado.
    falando do game a historia é corrida, mais conseguiram esclarecer uns detalhes como a aloy finalmente conseguir uma arma zenith além de outros detalhes que só quem jogar vai poder ver .. mas é bem feita com cenas de tirar sorrisos de nos jogadores.. principalmente o final de deixar qualquer um feliz, até porque vc é livre para tomar escolhas.

    Game was a masterpiece...The game had an amazing story, amazing graphics, aloy continues to be the best female led character od any game I've played before and her romance with seyka was truly great. They are good for one another and it's nice to see more representation for not only the wlw community but also diversity.     I'm sorry but if you've played both games and never thought to yourself "hmm this character probably isnt straight" I can't help you. This isn't new, isn't an "agenda" (god y'all sound dumb as hell w that), and fit the character perfectly. Bravo. The sequel to Zero Dawn holds up to the thrilling story and adventures of the first one, with adding some much needed UiI improvements as well as a stunning graphical upgrade. On top of that you have a gripping story and a cast full of three dimensional characters. Particularly interesting is Aloy's relationship with the Burning Shores DLC companion, Seyka. It's sweet, it believable, and it's a cute little bow on top of an already incredible game. If you liked Zero Dawn, Forbidden West won't disappoint you.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This DLC is everything that we can ask about an expansion. More items, armor, weapons, quest lines and enemies.

    The new gameplay mechanics is a good new addition on the game, makes Burning Shores fresh and with the new enemies added on the game the gameplay it's fun and challenging.

    The map is maybe 1/3 of the original game, but have less density and things to see in some points, this is not a problem thought: the places where have content, have a lot.

    The new quests mechanics is another fun new thing added on the game, but I think that the quest award is a bit disappointing. Is good to have fun but don't change nothing about the power that Aloy has (talking about secondary quests).

    Aloy is more silent on this DLC, and that is a good thing. Was the first time in this franchise that I took more than 5 minutes to understand how to solve a problem, thumbs up for that.

    What is really it's a good hit on this expansion is the history. On the base game Aloy is finally diverting from being an Elisabeth 2.0 to having individual personality, now she is showing us what this personality is and it's good to see that she don't face everything without carrying some weight with.

    Finally, I have some critic about the history: The history don't know how to show a good villain, the new enemy is painted has a person that kick dogs in the morning and parks in 2 two spaces on lunch. To me this was something that Guerrilla know that don't work based on the first game. To me we is evil just because and nothing more than that, the big enemy on this game for sure drags the history down (thank god that he don't appear a lot). Maybe is the time to create more interesting villains, everything that we have at this point have or just only one dimension or don't have the real plan revealed (hi Sylens).    … Expand

    It's just sad to see so many homophobes rating 0, it's TLOU Part 2 all over again.
    You CAN choose not to romance Seyka just like you can turn down Avad in the main game but I guess people just love to hate on love.

Only issue people seem to have about it is that a character in it is gay, if you can live with that, then you'll have an absolute blast. If you can't, then I feel sorry for you.     Loved the game and story, sad it was a bit shorter but its a DLC, cant wait for 3rd game. Ending you can choose what ever you want so if you are homophobic you can skip that part and choose something else

    Nice to see new DLC. Also nice to see the game acknowledging the fact that LGBT characters exist. The people complaining about 'political correctness' are just thin-skinned, especially when it's simply an 'option' rather than mandatory to the game. Anyway, good job, hope to see more.

    Great expansion. It is impressive how Guerrilla Games and Playstation Studios manage to elevate the technical aspects even more, provoking even greater immersion in the game. Great that in this expansion we can delve into Eloy's psyche and get to know her even more as a human in her quest for knowledge driven by empathy and passion.

    I wouldn't normally have given this a 10, as, yes, this DLC was unexpectedly a little short and I was a teensy bit disappointed at that. But for me, it continues a fantastic story in a fantastic setting, with wonderful characters. The same great gameplay, the same great combat. I love this game in so many ways and being brought back to it for more brings me joy, regardless of how long I was brought back for. So, it would have been a 9…

    Buuuuut, let's address the ending and the romance scene that people are hating on and why I've upped to a 10…

    1) If you paid any attention to Aloy as a character, you'd know there was always the possibility of a romance scene at some point given her slowly opening herself up to others over time.
    She goes from alone to many friends.
    From having little trust, to much more trusting.
    She would never have let anyone close in the early days, but by Forbidden West, she's different, older, knows herself better and knows how to judge others better. That's why so many of her friends have focuses.
    If there was ever romance in store for Aloy, around now seems right given her character progression.

    2) As for her preferences, if you don't like it, you never understood her character or the game, or, you never paid enough attention to her character or the game as a whole. Whichever of those it is, you simply don't deserve an opinion. You never cared enough about the character or game before, why do you care so much now?
    The game has never gone out of its way to shove any agenda in the players face, any characters "different from the norm" are vastly outnumbered by "normal" characters. I'd say it mirrors our world quite accurately. Those characters and their circumstances that are "different" are never shoved in your face, they just are who they are, they are accepted in the Horizon world because it's a better and more accepting world than this current awful world we all seem to be stuck with. Why can't you accept like they can? Why can't you be as nice as they are?

    And this leads nicely to…

    3) Why would one scene make you so angry? Would you care this much about a happy lesbian couple holding hands at a bus stop? Would you walk up to them and shout angrily about shoving agendas in faces? I hope not. But why would this circumstance, a happy lesbian couple at a bus stop, be any different than a heterosexual male, holding his heterosexual female partner's hand while walking down the street.
    Here's the thing. It isn't different.
    Love is love. No matter the form it takes. I'll repeat it. Love is love. And you can't change it, you can't control it, so just let love be love in all its many forms. It doesn't affect you. So why do you let it affect you?

    To summarise, too many people focus on things they cannot change, this story has so many great characters who all love and help each other no matter what their differences are. Because in the end, they all stick together and help one another, or they face something worse, hatred or death.
    I find joy in this story because I hope we can all be similar in our present time, that we can be even a small part more like them. More understanding, more loving and more caring.

    Find joy in the story, put your unnecessary anger aside and let yourself experience and learn from it.

    You'll be better off. You'll be happier. I promise.    … Expand

The final boss fight alone made the DLC for me. Soundtrack was incredible. As well as the continued character development of Aloy's character. People who claim this was "out of nowhere" paid zero attention to her development and growth in the main game. And the graphics and micro-expressions are the best I've ever seen in a game.… Expand

    This DLC adds an interesting part of the scenario at the end in particular, a new character who will be very close with Aloy, their relationship is built very quickly over the course of the story, it's pleasant.     A great return of Aloy. Going back to the world of Horizon Forbidden West is wonderful. Surprisingly, the story told by Burning Shores is quite important and a prequel for a potential Horizon 3. Graphics are stunning. One of the most impressive games nowadays. And the Story of the DLC is breathtaking.

There were new, well designed machines to fight, to override and to fly, and great new characters to interact with, as well as collectibles and little pieces of lore to find everywhere on the new map.     Great DLC!! Horizon deliver the best complements "after game" since Frozen Wilds. New characters, machines, new scenarios and more of it's incredible science fiction lore. I'm thrilled for the upcoming 3rd part of the saga

    The Burning Shores is the greatest DLC I have ever played. Whilst it is not perfect, the culminating story plot, the performances of the cast and the visual prowess of the game far outweigh the few nit-picks I have from playing the game. Easily earning this DLC a score of 10.

    To start with the positives:
    Improved Underwater exploration
    Improved flying exploration
    Fantastic Audio as expected
    Some of the best visual graphics, scenery and cutscenes I have seen in gaming ever, making the world thoroughly enjoyable to explore
    Some of the most relatable and compelling performances from the actors, especially Ashly Burch, Kylie Liya Page and Donovan Patton. - Whose performances are truly unforgettable.
    Fantastic Final Boss Fight - far exceeded all expectations I had
    A very cheap price point for what you are receiving

    And the few Nit-Picks I have:
    One of the main story quests is slightly childish in terms of common logic and human interaction - however this section is limited to maybe 5/10 mins of gameplay maximum
    The number of side quests are limited, I would of preferred a slightly more expensive DLC with a few extra quests.

    I think the expansion, while short, is great in that it applies some really well-done new game mechanics and the graphics look beautiful on the PS5. I very much recommend the expansion to anyone who loves open-world adventures with compelling combat. The review bombing is sad and pitiful and comes from a bunch of folks clearly afraid of any lifestyle choices that differ from their own.

    I really liked the DLC. The story is good and the gameplay is fun. The new machines are good. The size of the map is ok, but it could have more things to discover. Some data and audio logs are too hard find. And I thought he ending fight was fenomenal! And the character development was good too. Aloy is accepting help, finding friendship and even love.     Great DLC! Beautiful visuals, intense sounds and good story telling. The love story came off a bit awkward BUT who cares! I had a blast playing, Thanks Guerrilla for the entertainment. People need to chill on the reviews, dont purchase the game if your so bothered and move on!

    I enjoyed every minutes of playing. We should be gladly for developers which bringing these amazing stories. The atmosphere from the very last mission is still written in from off my eyes pretty deeply. My so happy that Aloy's story and also her personality are again moved to the next level even in the DLC. I also very happy that Aloy find somebody who care about her probably more thanI enjoyed every minutes of playing. We should be gladly for developers which bringing these amazing stories.     but the main story is amazing and the new types of enemies are ingenious and beautiful
    and this is an opportunity to Seyka - This is an amazing discovery of which I personally was looking forward to and very happy

I saw the absolute review bombing and hate for this DLC and realized I had to say something. All those that are hating on the romance aspect are simply just haters and likely don't understand how games work. Did I find the romance aspect cheesy a little yes; but the player is given three options. Only one results in the advancement of the relationship. I choose to not be ready which I believe leaves Aloy open to other opportunities and the other is to shoot it down completely. My assumption is none of the people totally trashing the DLC have ever played a game like MASS EFFECT that allows multiple options. I also take umbrage with those flat out saying Aloy is a lesbian. She may be bisexual. Which is my hope. Regardless anyone claiming this is a part of some woke agenda is ignorant of the mechanics of RPG style games. I first saw this topic via an article on Forbes which made me sign up for this account simply because of how outrageous this was to me. Rest assured I will be retroactively reviewing many things now that I have one. I gave this a 9 just to help balance; but in all honesty I'd have probably given it a 7 or 8.… Expand

    Fantastic game and addition to an open world masterpiece series. Although overshadowed by other releases, the series as well as this new addition to the story is epic and engrossing. A must-buy.

    Phenomenal game! This is how you do DLC! Sublime world and so many new and interesting mechanics (not to mention all the new lore to dive into) Great stuff! Can't wait for the third game proper!

    Beautiful DLC! It really builds on Forbidden West itself but most importantly it creates an emotional story for Aloy. Definitely a solid entry raising anticipation levels for future Horizon games.

    The story was addictive and the ending options are amazing so everyone can choose their own ending.

    The new weapons and skills are great and so much fun to use. I look forward to fighting Nemesis, either as a new DLC or a brand new game.

It's a gorgeous game, the fighting dynamics are leveled up from the main game, the music is delightful. I loved Seyka and was surprised and ecstatic about her flirtation with Aloy. Haters gonna hate, but I. AM. HERE. FOR. IT.

    I decided to start a new game + the week before the DLC dropped after having just finished HZD and what really stood out for me jumping from HZD into HFW is how sad and angry and lonely Aloy is. I usually choose the heart option when given a choice but on my game+ I opted for head or fist. She's much sharper in HFW and as the player I felt the weight of her journey much more than I did my first playthrough.

    I set the game+ playthrough aside when the DLC landed and to see her be so much softer and be able to speak with more empathy (with multiple NPC not just Seyka), and then in the end scene, with any choice, to be able to articulate the burden of her future, her newness to emotional connections, and her precious panic the whole DLC over her realizing she has feelings for Seyka and doesn't know how to handle them...... THIS is the character development that I've spend 200+ hours per game building. THIS is how you grow a protagonist.

    Haters are going to grump because she has feelings for a woman. Yes, she does. Did you play the original game? She was obsessed with Elizabet (yes as a mother figure, but there was more). She had connections with Petra and with Tahalana. She had NO chemistry with Nil or Avad.

    I can see where the shippers come from with Katalo and Errend, but in replaying both games, Aloy is rarely in physical contact with a NPC and the times she is, especially casually vs recovering from a fight/run/evade, are almost always with other women.

    It's kind of subtext that Beta and Tilda had something going on between them, and it's confirmed canon that Liz and Tilda were a couple. I'm not going to argue here if queerness is biological BUT IF I WERE --- HELLO SOBECK FAM.

    tl;dr - I loved the game, every part of it. I am so excited to replay it, and I think it provided a brighter ending to the game as a whole. I can't wait for the third game. If anyone important is reading this -- more Petra please!    … Expand

Overall fun hours that point the way for the next installment and finally five Aloy some well deserved affection coming her way. People review-bombing this clearly didn't play the game or they'd been angry at Forbidden West too, or they would've seen that Sobeck had a relationship with Tilda. Aloy is her clone, so...… Expand

    Great dlc. Absolutely loved everything. Music, gameplay, plot, characters, graphics. It was incredibly interesting to explore this world and go through the story. Thanks to the developers for giving us this great game.

    If you like Horizon, more of the same but even further fine tuned. Adds a large map about a 3rd or so of the main map and looks amazing. Very much an LA beach version of the Frozen Wilds DLC.

    Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is visually the best game I have ever played, and in terms of gameplay, it is enjoyable for me, although it may not be for everyone. But the story is the biggest weakness of the game, and I don’t think the story will be great in Someone’s opinion and it may just be the difference between those who say it’s mid and those who say it’s bad. But in different ways, this game completely shows off the power of the 9th generation console.

    Burning Shores is definitely worth a visit. The story builds nicely, the side quests have nice depth, and Aloy and Seyka may end up forming something more than just a friendship. The question is whether a little more content could have been added. After all, it's all stuff we've seen before. [Issue#327]
